Australian broadcaster SBS are happy to confirm that after the good result in
the last edition, Australia will participate in Portugal.
The song will be chosen internally

 SHALOM NORTHVISION! This morning, KAN confirmed the Israeli participation in the 41st edition of the Northvision Song Contest, held in  Portugal. The head of delegation Maxim Raevsky added:
"We're so proud of Inbal Bibi for reaching the grand-final and ending up 15th in  Graz. We hope we can enter the Top 10 in the near future!"
Once again, the Israeli entry will be chosen through the national selection show Israelifest. This 8th edition is titled "Shir Le'Portugal".
Newcomers and established singers from Israel and beyond are invited to submit their potential entries via www.kan.org.il/northvision

Hello! Belsat TV is happy to confirm that  Belarus will be present in North Vision Song Contest 42. Sadly, we will be taking part in PQR, but we are ready to get our spot in Semi-Finals! This edition, the song will be decided by internal selection.

TÜRKIYE CONFIRMS FOR NVSC#42!
 Türkiye will take part in the next North Vision Song Contest. This will mark the country's 40th participation in the contest.
The entry will likely be selected internally again.
Looking forward to meet you all in Portugal!

BULGARIA RETURNS FOR NVSC 42!
SOFIA, 17/10/2023 -- After sitting out from NVSC 41, Bulgaria has elected to return and confirms its participation at NVSC 42 in Portugal. Organizers cited low viewing figures as the reason for last edition's non-participation, but later stated that participation in NVSC is a quintessential part of the coming together of the greater European community.
In a statement from BNT: "After taking an edition away from the contest, we were able to review how we support Bulgarian artists internally when they perform at NVSC. We concluded that the artist needs to have greater creative control, while we need to concern ourselves with the ways we support them. It may take an edition or two, but we expect a clear and successful approach to emerge."
It is not yet clear whether a national selection will be held, or if an artist shall be internally selected, or otherwise.
First of all: HAPPY 10 YEARS TO NVSC!
Although I'm back, I've decided NVSC 42 will be my last edition as HoD. I made mention of this possibility last edition. The 'mostly inactive' is there for a reason. I don't need to go into details or explain reasons; none of it is unusual or unexpected. As long as there's a waiting list, it makes sense to give the job to someone who wants to be able to participate. Unless I do exceedingly well, this will be it for me. My Co-HoD is in a similar position and so this was a collaborative decision.

Azerbaijan will take part in #42!
AzTV has officially confirmed today Azerbaijan's participation in the North Vision Song Contest 42. Aisel's electrifying performance in Graz proudly brought home an impressive fifth place, which means that the nation is now automatically qualified for the upcoming final. It should also be highlighted that this is Azerbaijan's joint best ever result in the contest; the same result had been achieved 36 editions ago with Ilhama Gasimova in the fifth edition.
For a second consecutive occasion, AzTV will decide internally on the artist and song that will defend the tricoloured flag in Portugal. The broadcaster is currently working on selecting its entry, which will be announced in due course.

 DENMARK CONFIRMS
Despite the placing eleventh in the semi final last edition, continuing the Danish eleventh place in the semis curse. Denmark can confirm their presence in the upcoming 42nd edition of North Vision Song Contest held in Portugal. The head of delegation can confirm the 29th instalment of Dansk Melodi Grand Prix will occur, the first national final since the change of delegation. The selection will consist of 8 acts which are listed below. The national final will be open either tomorrow or Saturday.
