The Official Theme Art of North Vision Song Contest 42.
Mosaico
Our slogan this edition is "Mosaico", referring to a mosaic of cultures. The North Vision Song Contest has been a festival of different cultures since the very beginning, showcasing music from all corners of Europe and its neighbours, even extending to other continents, whether in the form of Australia or in the form of the Associate Broadcaster Final. With the Portuguese tradition of Azulejo as our basis, we want to celebrate the wide, colorful variety of countries and cultures that come together under the banner of this contest.
Facing the Atlantic Ocean, Lisbon is the capital city in Portugal, home to more than 500,000 people. Recognised as an alpha-level global city, Lisbon is known for its significance in finance, commerce, fashion, media, entertainment, arts, international trade, education and tourism. Here, you can find a variety of architectural styles and historical landmarks, as well as a collection of museums. In particular, the Bairro alto is home to many bars and clubs that represent different music subcultures, for instance punk, gay, metal, goth, hip hop, reggae scenes. The city's unique music genre Fado could be traced to the 1820s, and is currently on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Lists. The winning song is written in this genre.
Altice Arena, located at the mouth of Tagus River, is the biggest venue in Portugal. It was built in 1998 for Expo '98 and held several records, such as the European record for attendance in club Futsal. The multi-purpose venue has a maximum capacity 20,100 for concerts, hosting global megastars and local talents, including the current winner Ana Moura. The venue can be easily reached through public transit.
Filomena Cautela (she/her) is a versatile Portuguese television presenter, actress, and singer, celebrated for her charisma and adaptability within the entertainment industry. She has gained widespread recognition as the enchanting host of the prestigious Play Awards, the foremost Portuguese music awards, and the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest.
Diogo Piçarra (he/him) is a prominent Portuguese singer, songwriter, and musician who rose to fame following his participation in Operação Triunfo 2010 and Ídolos in 2012. He is a two-time representative of Portugal in the North Vision Song Contest, achieving the 7th place with 296 points in the 20th edition with his song "Dialeto" and participating again in the 39th edition with his song "Sorriso," where he narrowly missed qualification, placing 11th in the semi-final.
Titica (she/her) is an Angolan singer, performer, and dedicated advocate for the LGBT community, celebrated for her contributions to both the Angolan and global music scenes and for her advocacy regarding gender identity and sexual orientation acceptance within her country. Over the years, she has become a prominent figure in the Kuduro music genre. Her debut song, "Chão," achieved remarkable success as the most radio-airplayed track in Angola within a matter of months.
