Jondelsia reveals their entry! After almost three days of voting in this last-minute national final and a really tight outcome we can now officially reveal the winner of the second edition of the Jondelsia Music Contest and therefore, our representative for the thirty-fifth edition of the Fantasia Contest in Torlova. And without any further ado, meet...
Born in 1984, Frida Ånnevik is a Jondelsian vocalist, musician, composer and lyricist. She was awarded Mark Music’s “New Artist Prize” in 2009 and released her first record, Synlige hjerteslag, in November 2010. Ånnevik herself describes her music as “pop in an open landscape”, with references to the singer/songwriter genre, rock, jazz, folk music and soul.
Ånnevik grew up in Folsund, near the southerneast city of Nyvik, and was involved in music and theatre during her formative years. In the spring of 2009 she produced a demo with her own songs, and sent it to Grappa Music. This resulted in her receiving the fourth “New Artist Prize” from Grappa Music, following in the footsteps of Siri Nilsen, Gjermund Larsen and Valkyrien Allstars. The jury gave the following ground for awarding the prize to Ånnevik. Ånnevik’s first record, Synlige hjerteslag, was formed together with producer Andreas Mjøs (Jaga Jazzist, Adjagas, Susanna and the Magical Orchestra). It was voted the best Lanovian-language album of the year by Jondelsia Television's programme “Jondelsians for Jondelsia” on the radio station P1. Afterwards, she won more national recognition, as she was nominated for a Martaprix, the Jondelsian Grammy, both as newcomer of the year and in the folk category and was also the firt ever winner of the "Light Point", which was newly established by the Jondelsian Lyricist Fund for a first album and gaining a lot of visibility in Jondelsia and in neighbouring countries. Now she will get the chance to showcase her talent in a world stage event like the Fantasia Contest.
She will perform the song "Andre å elske" in Torlova!
Her song for the contest, "Andre å elske" (eng. Others to love) is the third track of her recent album VI that was released in February this year and is performed in the Lanovian language, being the first time Jondelsia sends an entry in this beautiful language. Receiving the highest scores from , she won with an amount of 88 points and will be our representative in Torlova!

La duena de la pinata... J Noa for Eldance! Mississauga, Eldance C.D. - Once again being silent this whole edition we can finally reveal something. I wanna go somewhere restart my feelings, with NEBC as they have proposed the Eldancan act for this edition.INTERNAL SELECTION ARTIST J Noa J Noa is already a juggernaut. For the past several years, she’s been leaving her mark on the Eldancan music scene, earning the nickname “the daughter of rap,” thanks to her lightning-fast rap speed, insightful lyrics, and ability to capture the realities of the states.
J Noa developed into a powerful performer and storyteller after achieving visibility through her impressive freestyle “Frente a Frente,” featured on the legendary DJ Scuff’s YouTube series. Feeling that the subject matter in rap culture at the moment is somewhat repetitive, J Noa had a particular goal for Autodidacta: “I feel like I came to revive rap,” she tells Rolling Stone. “To me, most rappers should be intentional about what they write, about what they recite. Otherwise, why would rap serve them, or why would they be considered rappers if they don’t live the reality of what they’re rapping about?”

Trivania has revealed the winner of Trivanian Song Festival 12, that is set to represent the country in the thirty-fifth edition of the Fantasia Contest, held in Torlova.KEIR TO REPRESENT TRIVANIA! “I was a support worker for people with severe disability and mental health issues before I got signed. It changes you.”There’s a common theme running through much of Keir’s material – mental health. For four years, Keir acted as a support worker at Dimensions in Rush City, working with people who have autism and severe learning difficulties. For the record, he absolutely loved it, feeling “a deep connection to the people we supported and the darkness they felt.” Keir thinks this is because struggles with mental health run in his family. “A family member was sectioned when she was younger,” says Keir now, “and there’s something about dark inner turmoil I’ve always found an affinity with. My intentions are not to glamourise darkness, but to shine a light towards it. Music is my way of connecting the dots I suppose.”
Born in Yenoha, Keir was brought up as the child of a Trivanian father and a half-Llortish mother. His maternal grandfather hailed from Llort, and his mother’s mixed-race heritage ensured she experienced racial prejudice first-hand during her own childhood. The eldest of three brothers – the middle sibling plays drums in Keir’s band live, and on his records – Keir began playing guitar and then keyboards in his early teens, although he readily admits, he set off wanting “to be like Nick Cave and not play an instrument at all.” Keir initially (almost exclusively) devoured pop music, listening to artists like Avril Lavigne and Enrique Iglesias, before his brother turned him onto Jimi Hendrix. After that, a stint as a trashy-garage-guitar-and-drums, White Stripes-influenced, two-piece – with his brother – resulted in him not thinking or particularly caring about his future anymore. “Early on,” admits Keir, “I just wanted to be famous, These days, none of that’s important. It’s like I’m living through some kind of after-life.” “Art provides some kind of meaning to my life. Art is connecting to people. Art is more powerful than conversation.”
Well, of course, these days includes the Autumn 2023 release of Keir’s astonishing, self-titled debut album on Vertigo/Universal, the fruits of a five-year-long, writing and recording relationship with fellow musical traveller, George Glew. Keir has now successfully transformed “the darkness, joy and isolation of the human condition” into that rare beast, music with a pounding, heartbeat, depth, and an instant, classic feel that’ll make you think you’ve had these songs knocking around the house for years. Either that, or you’ll think Keir has somehow wired himself into some illicit song-writing machine.
Over the past two years, amidst a flurry of ground-breaking releases, Keir has constantly proved himself to be a one-off - with the proviso that he also bears a striking resemblance to artists like Prince and George Michael, artists who defy categorisation. Correspondingly. it’s within the parameters of these beautiful, beautiful songs – tiny snapshots of a life being lived, beatific, sugar-coated assaults on the soul - that we get to hear that voice, a mellifluous, brittle instrument so finely poised and positioned to be able to claim land rights of its own.
“I like people who are real – people who are emotionally truthful, caring, and honest and open about how the world makes them feel.”
Appropriately enough, it seems just about the right juncture in proceedings to let you know that Keir sometimes sounds like nothing - or no one. ”Melody comes first for me,” reveals Keir, and then, as if to confirm the diagnosis, “sometimes, I like the sound of the words more than their meaning.” Ultimately, of course, as we witness Keir moving between genres with the ease of an acrobat, we learn that he is “not interested in genre”, and this, of course, is how it should be.“A real artist should just do their own thing” - Keir, 2023.LEMONADE Lemonade, the Trivanian entry, provides the perfect introduction to the alternative pop artist if you’ve never heard him before. Featuring thrashing drums, anthemic instrumentation and irresistible vocals, the track will be sure to pick you up and leave you wanting more. Accompanying is an even more impactful music video.
We wish Keir the best of luck and hope you will enjoy the Trivanian entry!Music & Lyrics: George Glew, Keir Krishnamma-HillierTimeslot: 2:09+TRIVANIAN SONG FESTIVAL #12 • RESULTS

Achróa announces its #35 entryTrangueli • 2 June
Having received approval from the FBA, Achróa's national broadcaster STA is ready to reveal its next entry for the upcoming Fantasia Contest, which is being held in Torlova. The previous entry, Clipt, was a gargantuan and dramatic work of art pop that forced contemporary pop music into its most experimental depths, with its 5/4 time signature and assailing instrumentation. Unfortunately, that experimentation led to a poor performance - the nation failed to qualify and came 12th in its semifinal. Now, Achróa's broadcaster has decided it wants to remain dramatic, but in a more brooding art rock kind of way.
The spoiler below contains the Achróan entry:HE'S GOT A FIRE IN HIS BELLY // I COULD NEVER TELL HIM // I'M THE ONE WHO'S ALWAYS GETTING THE BLAME
Twenty Things by Nadine Shah (TS: 3:53-4:23)
Nadine Shah was born in Achróa's largest city Trangueli, and is very well known among those who are involved in the indie music sphere despite her lack of commercial success over a fifteen year career. Initially a touring jazz singer across Fantasia, she moved into songwriting and an increasingly art rock sonic palette. The singer-songwriter recently made a commercial breakthrough in her native Achróa, where her latest album Filthy Underneath became her first to break the top five in the Achróan charts.Twenty Things is the ninth song from Filthy Underneath. It is brooding, dark and trippy - and is constant in its sonic conviction. Lyrically, it recalls her experience of rehabilitation in the wake of multiple personal tragedies, though is also written in the form of a tribute to those she met during the process. Deeply personal, and deeply engaging. We hope you enjoy, and we wish the best of luck to Achróa and all other nations!

Acharovia provisionally confirms its debut, pending approval.Yes I made the name before checking out the contest. If the delegation of Achroa thinks our names are too similar, we'll use our native name Xačaruvija instead. Hey, I'm so sorry I never saw this before but don't feel the need to worry about what I think!! Acharovia is completely fine by me
