Zambia reveals their entry! Lusaka, 27 May 2024 Today, Zambian broadcaster ZNBC has revealed their song for the 17th edition of OAfSC.
El Mukuka and James Sakala will represent Zambia in DR Congo!
El MukukaJames SakalaHeatwave will be the song to perform on stage in the DRC this summer. Since this edition will be hosted over the summer months, we at ZNBC thought "hey, why not try to send a themed song?" Thusly, Heatwave was born. As temperatures are expected to attain the mid-thirties (celsius of course) in DR Congo, it was felt that the perfect time for this entry had come. This is all while catering to the delegations, many of whom are European or American, and therefore able to get a kick out of hearing a seasonally appropriate song to boost their summer spirit. In addition, Africa is typically associated strongly with heat, by virtue of the Sahara-Sahel and the Congo rainforest, which makes the song all the more representative of the typical African experience, while portraying a metaphor that the joys of a summer heatwave are permanent in the continent - a perfect anthem for Own Africavision. El Mukuka ft James Sakala - Heatwave Music by El Mukuka Vocals by James Sakala Lyrics sung in English and Nyanja Timeslot - 0:00+ of the RV (0:44+ of the full song)
Thank you to Joe from OASC for the post design.
We wish good luck to our representatives, and to all the other countries coming to DR Congo this edition! Zambian Broadcasting Corporation • (ZNBC) © 2024 • Posted on 27 May 2024

No permanent placements are available. You may enter the standby list with either Saint Helena and Ceuta/Melilla, and you'll enter the contest in the event that less than 48 countries participate. Keep in mind that there is no borrowing though. You may also wish to wait in the event someone permanently withdraws from the contest and a more desirable country becomes free Also as a message for shax , if you saw my last post to you, ignore it now because the council is happy to accept your entry. Ok then i am going as dtandby for St Helena
