MOLDOVA WILL TAKE PART IN NVSC#44!
Despite another unsuccessful edition for TRM, the Moldovan national broadcaster, has confirmed their participation in the Northvision Song Contest 44, set to be held in Andorra.
Despite the participation in the upcoming North Vision Song Contest being now officially confirmed by the broadcaster during the general press conference, it is still uncertain for the nation whether to determine its entry via an internal or a national selection.

Austria will not be taking part in the 44th edition.In a stunning turn of events,  Austria has officially withdrawn from the North Vision Song Contest (NVSC) after a nationwide vote determined the country's participation. This unprecedented move marks a significant moment in Austria's cultural history and has stirred a variety of reactions from the public and the media alike. The decision to hold a public vote was initiated by the Österreichischer Rundfunk (ORF), who wanted to gauge public interest and support for continued participation in the NVSC. In recent years, there had been increasing debates about the cost and value of competing in the contest, leading ORF to put the question to a democratic vote. The results of the vote were clear: a majority of Austrians decided against continuing their involvement in the NVSC. According to official figures, 58% of voters chose to withdraw, while 42% voted to stay. Voter turnout was notably high, reflecting the strong public engagement with the issue. Proponents of withdrawal argued that the substantial funds allocated for the NVSC could be better utilized in supporting local artists and cultural initiatives within Austria. On the other hand, supporters of the contest highlighted the international exposure and cultural diplomacy benefits that the NVSC offered. In a statement, ORF acknowledged the public's decision and expressed their commitment to exploring new avenues to support and showcase Austrian talent. "While we respect the choice made by the Austrian people, we remain dedicated to fostering and promoting our rich musical heritage. We will continue to seek out opportunities that align with our cultural values and aspirations," the statement read.

 NORWAY CONFIRMS PARTICIPATION! Oslo, Norway • 14 July 2024 After scoring one of its best results in the history of the contest, NRK announced in a press conference this evening that  Norway will take part at the next Northvision edition. Den Norsken Sangen will most likely be hosted again to determine the automatically qualified Norwegian entry.
