Daremyth ● Risen from ashes So I have decided to go with less "traditional" apporach to the theme of new beginning. My entry focuses on how a new beginning is forced down on the main character. It reflects the fear of your old life you enjoy coming to an end as you have to get ready for the next stage in life even if you don't want it to happen.

Estrogennifer Season 9: Episode 1 - Risen from the Ashes
"Last Time We Never Meet Again"Sarah Kinsley For this week, I decided to send the most recent song of with one of my favorite artists, Sarah Kinsley, with a song that represents rising from the ashes in more of a bright and cheerful manner. To be able to fully embark on a fresh beginning, the past must be fully resolved. The lyrics of this song highlight the emotional complexities of parting ways with someone who once meant the world - “The song is meant to be celebratory, but it’s trying to make something that is really sincerely a goodbye—the closing of all these worlds that you inhabit with the people you love. A celebratory goodbye.” says Kinsley. “Last Time We Never Meet Again” narrates the familiar yet much-less-talked-about outcome of a relationship’s end—where sadness and love persist in equal measure, and that despite your ache to be with them, your shared life has ended. It’s the ending to the fairytale that never sits quite right but teaches the most important lessons, lacing longing with the steady beat of resolve. The chorus, with its repeated assertion that "this is the last time we will ever meet like this again," underscores the finality of the separation. There's a sense of resignation and acceptance, but also a lingering nostalgia for the dreams and aspirations they once shared. The song captures the essence of bittersweet farewells, where love and pain coexist, and the journey towards healing begins with acceptance and letting go. Now, she is ready to rise from the ashes of the past and bloom into her new and healing future. LyricsSo this is it Our lives were only a blimp Of some good thing then And whatever it is now Holding on To something you don’t really want Is it me? Is it you in the mirror? (In the mirror in the mirror in the mirror)
Shut me out Leave the past in your own mouth Don’t wake the beast now You’ll regret your kindness somehow I’ve said enough to fill a thousand cups And you drank it down all fine But this one is mine I can play the villain in the next life
And I understand We can never speak again It is inevitable but I still think about the days We’d sit and dream of other lands Off to save the world from its own hands But this is the last time We will ever meet like this again (again)
And I hope you get Everything you wanted I hope the universe Bends down to offer itself to you But for myself I hope I hear your name And I feel absolutely nothing Let me be free of you
And I understand We can never speak again It was inevitable but I still think about the days We’d sit and dream of other lands Off to save the world from its own men But this is the last time This is last time This is last time We will ever meet like this again, again, again

PENNY D.LUX
SEASON 9 • EPISODE 1
Well well well, Penny is back back Again! The Haus of D.Lux reigns on and 3rd times the charm as they say and your favourite cheap bitch is delighted to be back on this new platform!
So for this week's challenge. I am sending the song "Who I am". The Stars have Aligned with finding what was the right song for this challenge, the inspiration was from hearing this beautiful song in the almighty Celine Dions new documentary (which is amazing btw) and this song came on and I just knew I had to use it when it Aligned with the timing of this sort of challenge. Wyn starks just took my breath away showcasing his outstanding voice and vulnerabilty while singing this beautiful song of his journey from keeping himself hidden and now he is being free and not hiding it!
Wyn Starks - Who I Am
Who I Am, is the story of Wyn finally blossoming into his true authentic self. The journey still continues, but Wyn is finally let him out and hes coming into this place where you embrace every part of yourself, even though it’s things you think the world won’t like or things that people won’t like. He's learned that doesn't matter and how to love himself and being free endlessly.
Some key lyrics in the song;
"I gotta be me, gotta be I Gotta be who I know I am inside Can finally breathe, taking it in Look at me flying!"
His fresh start has begun!! He's now fully owning and being himself, there's nothing holding him back and the world is his oyster and he's flying higher in the sky than ever before!
"It's always been there. It just took me a minute to find it."
My take on this is Someone afraid to be free, like a little boy locked in this cage. And I would know how this feels, whatever the situation, we have all been there and Wyn became everything to everyone else and trying to please everyone and do what others expected of him instead of following his heart. He is finally beginning to do that, and I feel like that little boy is finally free and He's soaring now!
This is the beginning of a fresh start! He's doing it with love, positivity and PRIDE within himself! This song Is this challenge.
Lyrics
I've been closing the door All my life, held it in but not anymore Got two feet on the floor This is it, I'm stronger than ever before
Pardon my imposition But this is my conviction I need to get this off my mind
I gotta be me, gotta be I Gotta be who I know I am inside Can finally breathe, taking it in Look at me flying!
It's always been there, it just took me a minute to find it If I were to be anybody else, I'd just be hiding Who I am Who I am
Lookin' back, back on a little boy Never gave him a chance to ever be more I didn't love him but I'm gonna love him right now and forever It's time to push open the door
Pardon my imposition But this is my conviction Ain't nothing left to hold me down, no
I gotta be me, gotta be I Gotta be who I know I am inside Can finally breathe, taking it in Look at me flying!
It's always been there, it just took me a minute to find it If I were to be anybody else, I'd just be hiding Who I am Who I am
It's always been there, it just took me a minute to find it Who I am
Gotta be me, gotta be I Gotta be who I know I am inside Can finally breathe, taking it in Look at me flying!
It's always been there, it just took me a minute to find it If I were to be anybody else, I'd just be hiding Who I am Who I am
It's always been there, it just took me a minute to find it Who I am, yeah

Nikita Greihamé SEASON 9 • EPISODE 1 Risen From The Ashes Send a song about (a) new beginning(s)
Week one is here and for our first challenge we needed to send a song that represents new beginnings.
New beginnings and the idea of starting over can come in many forms; marriage, death, confession, truth, friendships, love, break-ups, triumphs and fallbacks.
New beginnings offer a fresh start and an opportunity to move forward with new perspectives, habits, and goals. They provide a chance to leave behind past mistakes and negative experiences and create a path towards personal growth and fulfilment.
Furthermore .......
This song I choose for new beginnings comes from the act of realisation and discovering the journey made so far and what the potential of that journey ahead could be and how to not no longer live with any regret and beginning from this moment on in a new head space.
My song is .....
Halsey - Could Have Been Me
This song originally from The Struts and covered by Halsey addresses starting over by no longer having regret to not take every opportunity..
" Could have been me is more than just a song; it’s a lifestyle. It’s a testament to living fiercely and without regrets, a beacon for those wandering in the shadow of WHAT IF. In a world that often demands we shrink, it demands we expand, take up space, and never look back to say, “Could have been me.”."
Reading this from The Struts really brings home that from today you should focus on the what if as hindsight but from today, start a new way of life and live each day unwasted.
My favourite lyrics of the song are:-
"Don't wanna waste one line I wanna live better days Never look back and say It could have been me"
Maybe we could all take the new leap and think to ourselves if we want to wate time and miss out or rise from the ashes with a new way of life and thinking ....
THAT CAN BE ME!.
LYRICS:- Don't wanna live as an untold story Rather go out in a blaze of glory I can't hear you, I don't fear you I'll live now 'cause the bad die last Dodging bullets with your broken past Well, I can't hear you, I don't fear you now
Wrapped in your regret What a waste of blood and sweat
Oh oh-oh
I wanna taste love and pain Wanna feel pride and shame I don't wanna take my time Don't wanna waste one line I wanna live better days Never look back and say It could have been me It could have been me, yeah
Don't wanna wake up on a Monday morning The thought of work's gettin' my skin crawlin' I can't fear you, I don't hear you now
Wrapped in your regret What a waste of blood and sweat
Oh oh-oh
I wanna taste love and pain (I wanna taste love) Wanna feel pride and shame I don't wanna take my time (no) Don't wanna waste one line (hey) I wanna live better days (better days) Never look back and say Could have been me (it could have been me) It could have been me (it could have been me)
I wanna taste love and pain (I wanna taste love and pain) Wanna feel pride and shame (wanna feel pride and shame) Don't wanna take my time (I don't wanna waste my time) Don't wanna waste one line (don't wanna waste one line) I wanna live better days Never look back and say It could have been me Oh, it could have been me
It could have been me!

TOYLET SWIFFER SEASON 9 • EPISODE 1 RISEN FROM THE ASHES Send a song about (a) new beginning(s).
Maggie Rogers Back In My Body
For the first challenge, we were asked to present a song about a new beginning and our version of rebirth, so I have decided to send "Back To My Body" by Maggie Rogers.
"New Beginnings" can have different meanings to different people. To me, this phrase signifies doing necessary changes in your life that will make you happy, whether this involves the people in your life, your job, the place you live in etc. And this is also the main theme of "Back In My Body", doing the needed changes in your life in order to be content with yourself. In this song, and particularly in the first 2 verses, Maggie speaks about some of her most difficult moments while touring for the first time. Specifically she has mentioned: "The first time I was on tour, I think that was the weirdest thing: Suddenly I had this job as a professional musician and it actually meant that I was less creative than I’d ever been". However, upon reflecting on these moments she realizes that the only way to be happy doing that, is doing it in the way she wants to and that is reflected in the chorus. The main phrase repeated there has been explained as “being back in my body means being able to do the things I love, but do them in the way I love and in my way and in my time. Giving myself the opportunity to just be me.”
[Verse 1] I was stopped in London when I felt it coming down Crashing all around me with a great triumphant sound Like the dam was breaking and my mind came rushing in I was stopped in London oh I was awakening
[Verse 2] I was stopped in Paris when I almost ran away Two times round the block before I decided to stay Puffed along a cigarette that went and made me sick Spent another day pretending I was over it
[Chorus] This time I know I’m fighting This time I know I’m [back in my body] This time I know I’m fighting This time I know I’m back in my body I’m back in my body
[Verse 3] And all along the highway, there's a tiny whispering sound Saying I could find you in the dark of any town But all that I am hearing in the poem of my mind Are silent twisted words finding their way in every line
[Refrain] Oh, this time Oh, this time
[Chorus] This time, I know I'm fighting This time, I know I'm (Back in my body) This time, I know I'm fighting This time, I know I'm (Back in my body) Lost you in the border town of anywhere I found myself when I was going everywhere (Back in my body) This time, I know I'm fighting This time, I know I'm
[Break] (Back in my body) (Back in my body) (Back in my body)
[Bridge] Oh, this time, oh, this time Oh, this time, oh, this time Oh, this time, oh, this time Oh, this time, oh, this time
[Chorus] This time, I know I'm fighting This time, I know I'm (Back in my body) This time, I know I'm fighting This time, I know I'm (Back in my body) Lost you in the border town of anywhere I found myself when I was going everywhere This time, I know I'm fighting This time, I know I'm back in my body, oh I'm back in my body, oh I'm back in my body, oh Back in my body, oh, oh |

S09E01: EVA MÁZIKOVÁ IS HERE
Eva Máziková is submitting the song Blue Racecar by Sassy 009!!!
The song is a reminiscence of a past relationship, a look inwards to find out what mistakes have been done to put one into a fervent situation. But the times have changed - and as you create decisions for yourself rather than for others, you're rewarded with a very important thing: personal freedom.
Cutting off a whole chapter of your life is never easy - but there are always better things to come.
