Bosnia & Herzegovina announces bid to host the Pre-Qualification Round!
BHRT confirmed Bosnia & Herzegovina's interest in hosting the 29th edition of the Pre-Qualification Round. The event represents a chance for 7 competing countries to win a ticket for participating in the 44th edition of North Vision Song Contest, hosted in Andorra.
Inspired by the Olympian Symposium theme of SCF's Song Race's episode 3 of season 9, but also hinting towards the upcoming Bosnian act in the competition, BHRT proposes the slogan Inner Goddess for the hosting bid of the Pre-Qualification Round #29. The slogan represents strong symbolism, as it highlights the idea of embracing someone's strength, confidence, and beauty. It also recognizes a person's intrinsic power and grace, and aims to inspire people to find their inner potential for confidence and authenticity.
Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia & Herzegovina, is a city rich in history and culture, known for its diverse religious heritage. Found in the Dinaric Alps, Sarajevo has a unique blend of Ottoman, Austro-Hungarian, and Yugoslav influences, evident in its architecture and vibrant street life. Today, Sarajevo is a symbol of resilience, offering visitors a captivating mix of historical sites, bustling bazaars, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Some of the 'must sees' are Gazi Husrev Bey's Mosque, Sacred Heart Cathedral or the City Hall. It would be the second NVSC-related event hosted in Sarajevo, after the city hosted the 8th edition of the contest.
The 29th Pre-Qualification Round would be hosted in Mirza Delibašić Hall, commonly known as Skenderija Hall, is an indoor sporting arena located in Sarajevo, as a part of Skenderija. Opened on 23 November 1969, the seating capacity of the arena is 5,616. It is currently home to the Bosna Royal Sarajevo basketball team and is named after its legendary player Mirza Delibašić.
The proposed hosts of the event are two 'goddesses' from Bosnia & Herzegovina, Zumreta Midžić, known as Zuzi Zu, and Selma Krifica, known as Selma "Big Mama".- Zuzi Zu is a popular Bosnian singer and songrwriter, who performs various music genres, such as pop-rock, but also Bosnian folk, called sevdalinka. She was born in Velika Kladuša and for many years she was living and working in Sarajevo. She is known for her many appearances during NVSC events as Bosnian spokesperson, for hosting BH Vision, the Bosnian national selection, but also for being the official Head of Delegation of the country during some editions of the contest.
- Selma "Big Mama" is a Bosnian television personality and social media influencer. She gained significant popularity in the country through her involvement in the reality show Big Mama House. Selma's charm lies in her humor and openness, often sharing her life experiences with a touch of comedy. She has also been a TV host for children's programs.
The number of participating countries in the event is unfortunately decreased, after the temporary withdrawals of Kazakhstan, Latvia and Monaco from the edition. The participants attending the event would be, presented in an alphabetical order, Albania, Azerbaijan, Croatia, Georgia, Kosovo, Malta, and Slovakia.
