She always comes first, it's Miz Bulge Area ( alex(a)bg). Daniel:Hardrock/Metal song: Mama, this is a timeless classic. This reminds me of the good old days! I'm just thinking... is it rock? Yes. Is it hard? Not really (I would know). Is it metal? Absolutely not. I feel like you could have gone for another Skunk Anansie song like "Weak" or "Charlie Big Potato" that isn't so tame. This is the FIRE ball afterall. Overall a solid choice.
Fire-themed song/video: Oh I am kind of ascending to this. This feels like a house in the woods, campfire kind of song. I really like it. It's very soothing. Also a very original choice, and we all know mama loves that. Kind of sad that there is no music video, I think I could have given you an entire point more just for the campfire visuals.
Song from Southeast Asia:You called this a MEGA bop and I have to agree. Đông Nhi kinda eats in general. She's giving that Belarus at Eurovision 2013 kind of fire and the cunty moaning at the end, it's really giving. Jojo Siwa:This was... rough. Your hardrock song was decisively not hardrock, and was clearly more altrock. It doesnt even go that hard at all, it's much more vibey than anything, and I didn't love it. Your fire song was also uninspiring, and that's coming from someone who loves a little acoustic indie number. Bad Boy gets some boppiness points but the production on it is really dated and it was hard for me to ignore it, especially since I don't have any nostalgia associated with it. Andrélle:The first song, though a banger, missed the mark on the theme. The second one fit better, but felt flat and a bit boring. However, the third track was a total SCF herstory CLASSIC and is definitely one of my favourites this week, but, unfortunately, it couldn’t make up for the earlier two. JuPaul:Let's start with your hard rock entry. Where is the hard mama? This isn't hard hitting at all, it's pretty mellow and boring I fear. We wanted you to come in guns blazing, not whatever this is. Your fire song is cute! A bit forgettable though. It's nothing bad but also nothing that really sticks around in my mind. Then we have your South East Asia entry. It's probably your strongest entry, as it is quite catchy. I don't really enjoy that you went for this old ass song though instead of putting in an effort and serving something new and intriguing. I still like the song but I think now isn't the time to not try your hardest, we're one week away from the grand finale! Overall I think your ball performance was a bit lackluster, sawry.

Next up, we converse with Maxima XCX ( agni). JuPaul:Your first entry was interesting! I wanted to love it and although I liked the way it sounded, I don't think it's an amazing match for the category. It's closer to what I was hoping for than Miz Bulge but still not entirely there. The song is nice though!
Your second entry was also interesting, I was intrigued by the indie production. Not really something that I find very catchy or so, but a solid pick nonetheless.
And then we have your Caribbean song. A bop! Easily your best entry this week and one of the best of the entire week. It served exactly what I wanted, so well done!
All in all, not a perfect showing but very good still x
Andrélle:The first song was great, but could’ve been a bit harder. The second fit the theme well, but it didn’t resonate with me and felt boring. The third, though, was a hit! Caribbean realness! Jojo Siwa:You also didn't really send a hardrock or metal song, so I've got to take points off for that. I did, however, quite enjoy sólstöður though. I also quite liked your second track. HOWEVER! Bitch!!! Love Is Wicked SLAPPED! Fantastic choice and easily the best track this week for me. Daniel:Hardrock/Metal song: No this song is so good bestie. But similar the rest of the girls I have to say that this is neither hard rock nor metal. Girlie this misses the theme so much but I really can't give this a low ranking; the song is SO good.
Fire-themed song/video: The beats in this are so good, I'm listening. Is she firing the place up? I have to be honest, not really. Props for the originality though, the song really isn't bad and is kinda quirky - similar to your brand miss XCX.
Song from The Caribbean: If any region in the world screams FIRE, it's the Caribbean. Mama my ass is shaking by itself!! The cunty beats make me go ooaaeeaayayoooo. Play this at Club SOHO and Callum would be doing slut drops on the dirty floor. Great choice!

And now we say good evening to Eva Máziková ( Percy Yates). Jojo Siwa:Electric Callboy is kind of expected honestly, but it fits the brief and I wont lie, it bops a litle. I really enjoyed your second track, it really stood out this week and kept me engaged the entire time. The CLOVES song I've known for years and never loved it, but it's a solid number and tied together your package well overall. Solid. Daniel:Hardrock/Metal song: First of all hi queen, I don't know you yet but your face seems familiar! Electric Callboy was kinda cute a couple of years ago and this is really not their best song in my honest opinion. Lucky for you, your song does fit this theme, and that's rare this week I feel.
Fire-themed song/video: Once again, I think you nailed the theme here. The song and the video are really giving me fire. I was thinking what Indian queen would produce such a banger but then I looked up this white woman's instagram, and I quote: "Merch producer / songwriter. Pagan/witch. audhd. German Swedish Irish Baltic"
Song from Oceania: From the other songs you've sent I thought you would really go for something more... fiery... here. Like, Oceania isn't easy to find representatives for but this white woman seems to be a very safe choice. I personally would have gone for something more Pacific, so much culture there! Anyhow, the song is OK. Not my favourite from your set. JuPaul:On paper Electric Callboy is a band I should enjoy because I usually like loud ass rock & electronic songs but most of their songs are kind of... too obnoxious for me. Ratatata would've gotten a decent score I guess but this isn't very good I'm afraid. That being said, it definitely fits the theme, so well done in that regard.
I've seen the Kiki Rockwell song make the rounds in a couple of contests but I get it, it's a very cute song! Probably fits the fire theme the best out of all songs in this category too.
The Oceania song... I don't get this choice I fear. This sounds like a radio song from 10 years ago. Oceania actually is an easy region imo, it's not like Australia and New Zealand are some small flop industries. Ideally I would've liked something Aboriginal, Maōri or from the smaller Pacific Islands. I get why you'd not go for that, as that kind of music can take some effort to find, but this song is just too bland for me.
Andrélle:E-slur Callboy you will NEVER be famous!!! This is millennial straight people humour, reminds me of No Rules, just horrible. But I guess it fits the category so it's not a 0. Thankfully, your other two songs were absolute HITS! The fire song was fantastic—I was obsessed with the Balkan instrumentals, and "California Numb" is a classic for me, so I guess they made up for the travesty that was your first song.

And we close the evening with Estrogennifer ( Alper). Andrélle:The first song was a banger and my favorite of the category! The second was fine, but I found it a bit grating. Loved your Mediterranean choice—the vibes were vibing!!!! Though the vocals were a bit annoying at times. Daniel:Hello MOTHER. Let me tell you something. When Season 9 was airing, we were giving out these envelopes with one secret lucky SAFE. You were the one getting saved girl. So for me, seeing you here, not needing anything like that (at least I hope you didn't need it?), makes me very proud of you girly.
Hardrock/Metal song: Absolutely LOVING this banger. This is the only song in this category that really checks it all for me. Loving htis choice for you!
Fire-themed song/video: The song is powerful for me, which I think is the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of fire. It's super catchy. You've connected the theme not only to the music but also to the music video. Absolutely loving this, well done!
Song from the Mediterranean: Helpppppp I'm learning Italian and the title is so funny. This really does sound like the gorgeous gorgeous Mediterranean! Theme is on spot but the song kind of lacks something for me, like... when you skip around (which I found myself doing), you'll find that it kind of sounds the same the entire time. Not my favourite of your choices but still solid! JuPaul:Your hard rock entry... well yes! THIS is what I wanted, something that fits the theme and is a whopper. The best song of the week methinks.
Your fire entry is okay I suppose! It's a little catchy but is also serving a bit of generic radio realness. Like this is what I'd expect to find in New Music Friday Deutschland and it would not be going on my NVSC playlist I fear. Not a bad song though, just a little meh.
For your last entry, I really liked that you gave us some real Mediterranean flavor instead of just selecting a random song. You had the easiest category for this and still managed to send something original, so props to you mama. Was the song the best song ever? Well no! But it was good enough, a fitting song for a ride along the Mediterranean coast. Jojo Siwa:Antagonist was a really great choice, and the best for the category this week. Good song, quite enjoyed it. Fire In My Soul was a bit whatever for me... I can't count how many times I've seen that track in contests over the years, and It's painfully 2018. Basta Cazzate was nice, and extremely Mediterranean, but I would've enjoyed it more if it had more of a verse to ground it in-between the choruses. Still solid overall though.

Marina actually helped you for once...
Estrogennifer, good job this week, you are safe. You have also made it to the final!

EPISODE 12 RESULTS • SING-OFF
Eva Máziková... Miz Bulge Area... two queens stand before me. This is the last chance for you to impress me and save yourself from elimination. Let's listen to your songs. Eva Máziková | Miz Bulge Area | Věra Špinarová • "Jednoho dne se vrátíš (Tenkrát na západě)" | Lady Gaga • "Babylon" |
|
|
Ladies, I've made my decision. Two very different approaches here, Slovak hollywood vs. Poppers central. Miz Bulge Area, shantay you stay. You have made it to the final!
Eva Máziková, you've been through some ups and downs this season, from the start til now. Some iconic bangers, some low lows but you almost always served originality, which is what made you a very intriguing competitor to watch. When I saw your sing-off playlist, I thought this was a recipe for disaster but the three songs you made me listen to were all very lovely! Unfortunately, it was not enough to reach the top 3 though, but you certainly have a bright future ahead of you. Now... sashay away.
