A language that a speaker of  Maltese should technically find "easy" would be Arabic or  Hebrew because Maltese is the only Semitic language in the Indo-European family of languages eg: 1 to 10 (from what I looked up:) Maltese: wieħed tnjen tlieta erbgħa ħamsa sitta sebgħa tmienja disgħa għaxra Arabic (if I write in Latin script) is: wahid ithan thalaata ar'baa khamsa sitta sab'aa thamenia tis'a ashra OMG! Maltese is very similar to Arabic.  ;D I really thought Maltese was somewhat Italian-like or something.  Lol, I thought the same as well |

WTF... just found out there's a   Filipino-Thai singer called "Christina Aguilar"... I think I heard this from somewhere but cool.  She'll easily get mistaken to the more prominent Christina Aguilera though. |

Oh yes, Just read somewhere, that the  Maltese language descends from Siculo-Arabic which was an Arabic dialect spoken in Sicily around the 9th to 13th century. And Siculo-Arabic descends from Maghrebi-Arabic which is currently spoken in northern African countries like Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco & Libya. And Maghrebi-Arabic descend from Arabic which descends from Central Semitic Languages and that descends from Semitic Languages. And there you go, the family tree of the Maltese language ;D |

Our Maltese language is similar to Arabic, especially the numbers!! ;D So many different countries took over Malta at war, mainly the Arabs where here for the longest time, therefore our language got influenced by them the most  flag italy,  ,  ,  and  also, took over Malta for a little while, also influencing our language  ..and Maltese was created ^ ^ Though I must admit, listening to  Italian on T.V...is as if I understand everything. So many words dont change in Maltese such as : Pero (but), Serjeta (seriously), Adoloxxenti (adoloscence), Superjuri (superior), Ezattament ( exactly), Allora ( So), etc.. though when it comes to Arabic language, I understand nothing-.- except for a few numbers from 1 till 10  |
