History
The forums were created in August 2011 as the OVSC Forums but soon became the Contest Forums as many new song contests started. Participation in OVSC is not required to be a part of the community.
General information
Calendar
The Calendar is a place where you can post about upcoming song contest events. You are only allowed to post things related to online song contests here. This is a great way for people to keep themselves updated with your contest. All contests are allowed to post here, not only contests with boards. Remember to use your contest abbreviation as a title when you create a new calendar entry.
Sometimes birthdays won't show in the calendar. You are allowed to add your own by using "Name's Birthday" as the title. The calendar can be viewed by guests too but only forum members can post entries.
Ranks
Required posts:
For each rank the members need to reach a number of posts. Apart from the first rank which doesn't need any posts to be achieved, the required posts for the rankings are as following:

Staff
The forum started with three admins, the admins of OVSC. In 2013 Dimitris, Chris and Christian were made forum moderators. However later in March 2013, Dimitris was made an administrator while Jessica replaced him as a forum moderator. When OVSC managers left, Dimitris became the main admin and Chris was made admin. In May 2013, Chris left the forums and Jessica with Christian were made admins. On 2 May a small Tournament was started to find out the new forum moderators. 22 members had applied to enter but only Jan, Liev and Nick became the moderators replacing Jessica and Christian. Jan was made an administrator in December 2013. Daniel and Mark were selected by the staff as the new administrator and forum moderator respectively in January 2016.

General information
- Registering an account on the forum does not require e-mail activation or even the use of a real e-mail adress.
- When you have logged into the forums for the first time you should go to your profile and click modify profile. There you can choose your favourite forum settings.
- The basic avatars available on the forums are flags. If a country you want is unavailable in the list you can request for it to be added in this thread or by contacting an administrator.
- There is a code to create small flags when typing on the forums. If you for example type in flag albania without the space (as one word) then the flag of Albania will be shown like this: .
Calendar

Ranks
- Regular members can earn ranks titled 1 point up to 12 points. Reaching the final rank requires 8000 posts. Do not spam useless posts to level up or your post count will be reset to 0.
- The title Contest Manager is given to managers of contests who have their own board on the forums. They only have extra control on their own board.
- The title Forum Moderator is given to members who can help manage and control the forums. These are chosen by the administrators when they are needed.
- The title Administrator is held by users who are managing and control the entire forums.
- The title NVSC-player is held by users who are players of the North Vision Song Contest. It was created due to the popularity of the contest in the forum.
Required posts:

- 2 points - 25 posts
- 3 points - 50 posts
- 4 points - 100 posts
- 5 points - 250 posts
- 6 points - 750 posts
- 7 points - 1500 posts

Stars:
Each ranking has a different star color and/or number. Here are the stars of each rank:
NOTE: For the 1-5 and 6-12 points the stars number is according to the rank; 1 point has 1 start, 2 points have 2 stars etc. while 6 points have 1 star, 7 points have 2 stars etc. Also, the NVSC-players who are also administrators, moderators or contest managers get their original's rank stars with an additional "NVSC-player" in their title.
