Opinions about other nations

As you can tell (well.. most of you ) my favourite country is Iceland - I love so much about it, and I totally want to visit there ^^

I love most European countries too, and American + Asian/Oceanic countries.

However, I dislike the governments of Russia, Saudi Arabia, Syria & Iraq (especially since the rise of that burden of a "state" ) and of course, North Korea.. I don't hate people from there - if I hate a country it's only from it's governments - it's not the people's fault in Syria for example that this had to happen.

Please, don't take offensively what I will now say, because it isn't just my subjective opinion - those are facts.
From my point of view I can say that there's 50/50 true/lies in this...
But what I know for 100% sure is that most russians that live here, hate latvians because latvians hate them. But now to the reason why - latvians don't hate anyone without a reason.
Firstly - 50 years in Soviet Union, deportations, mass killing and other genocide-ish activity in Latvia. Yes, there were also some good things that we and you learned in these 50 years, but those can't outshine the bad things.
Secondly - in Soviet Union russian language was No.1 language and everyone had to speak in it, when they were speaking with russians or other nationalities. Now those times have passed and latvian is the main language here, not russian. But most russians that live here don't want to understand that - they still think that it's Soviet Union here and speak with us in russian. Many of them are living here for 40 or more years, but can't say a word in latvian. That's just because they don't want to. There's no such thing that you can't learn to speak a language in 40 years! It's all about attitude. Yes, most latvians know russian language, but that doesn't mean that we want to speak russian in our own country. Why can you learn their language in UK, Norway or any other country, but not latvian in Latvia?
Thirdly - we are very tied to Russia (economically, energetically etc.), although we'd like to live more like other europeans. But our government (some say it's heavily controlled by Putin) can't or doesn't want to change anything. That's why we hate our government.
Fourthly - that was why latvians hate russians. But russians say that they hate us and our country so much, but still come to live to our country, or at least on trips, because they want to live european, but still speak in russian... they know that they can do it here... We were your "goldfield", but you still did everything you wanted to us... You still act here like you own us, and when we don't do something you'd want us to do, you start disliking us.

Oh, and also the propaganda. These ofc aren't the only reasons, but the main ones.

I hope now it's clearer for you, why latvians hate russians and why russians hate latvians...

Oh, and don't get me wrong - this "disliking thing" is actual only in Latvia. It doesn't mean that we hate russians as nation, because we know most russians are good people, buthere we mostly have the ones that are not...
