So I was quite silent about this but it's time to speak my mind.
Borrowing:
It should depend on the size of the country, on the borders, but mainly on the music industry of the respective state. I'd let
Liechtenstein borrow from
Austria &
Switzerland,
Andorra from
Spain,
Luxembourg from
Netherlands and
Belgium,
San Marino from
Italy and
Cyprus from
Greece. That's all.
Faroe IslandsThey should be in. They have a bigger music industry than other bigger countries. The only thing that may block Faroese membership is the fact that the islands aren't fully indipendent yet. Same goes for
Kosovo, but since this one is a bit controversial, my vote goes to
Faroe Islands.
Moldova > RomaniaI disagree that
Moldova should borrow from
Romania and that's because it's enough to look at the Moldovan NFs. Nobody knew about Aliona Moon but she had a wonderful song. There are dozens of Moldovan singers. Plus, excepting osome things, I think
Moldova is more related to
Russia than to
Romania, imo.
Greece > CyprusAs you can see in ESC,
Greece and
Cyprus could be defined a single nation. I think it should remain the way it is allowed now, but I'm okay with both ways.
France > QuebecI think here only family trees and ancestories can make the difference.
AncestoriesIn my honest opinion, a singer should have at least a parent born in the country he's willing to represent.
GreenlandIf you allow
Greenland to take part, it will withdraw right after taking part with
"Curtain Call" or
"Let it Fall".
Åland islandsOnly God knows how many times I saw
Timoteij competing for the
Åland Islands. Plus they aren't independent yet. No music industry and no good status..
Northern African countriesWould it really be realistic with
Israel around there?
If you think there should be more clear ruled, I agree. But actually you know that, every country has an own history and they are all different. So I think you should do some rules "country by country", because it's bad to generalize and it's better to look at every characteristic of each country.
