This is a thread about the SaS-news related to KansasTV broadcaster/Radio station: KMZA (TV/Radio broadcaster located in Seneca)
Musical format: New CountryArtist: Split Lip RayfieldThe TV-Radio Broadcaster, KMZA, has now officially confirmed their announcement of their second artist. Making it the forty-sixth official SaS #2-representant!
It will also complete artist poster for the ★ 2ND HEAT ★! The submission has been brought out by the internal tastes from the TV/Radio Broadcaster's HoD and the SaS-creator! If we looked back at what the state made last edition, the famous country musician Melissa Etheridge attempted with her ballad "The Letting Go", but managed only for a 9th place with 47 points in its respective Heat. But hold on to that thought, KMZA have taken that advantage for sending another country act which hopefully will better the results, even if we're talking about someone like Melissa Etheridge who could fail in the most miserable ways!
The broadcaster decided to pick up this next artist, whose music draws on a wide array of influences and for classifying themselves as alt-country and bluegrass-oriented.
It's good to let you know that the trio, Split Lip Rayfield, will participate for the state of Kansas in the second edition of Superstars & Stripes in Jackson! It's a pleasure to feature this acoustic and vocal-performing act, who had suffered hiatuses and illnesses. One of the original founding band members passed away back in February 2007, but the band had stayed strong ever since that time and made their performances with dedication. The band member was Kirk Rundstrom, and he stood for being the guitarist and one of the vocalists for the country trio. He had a former Metal Rock-band called Scroat Belly, where now his adjacent of a band member Wayne Gottstine took the replacement for him, so they were formed as a trio once again.
And since their chartings aren't looking so hot, they'll put all their effort on promoting with one of their higher reviewed tracks, whether it's one of their older tracks (with Sir Rundstrom as the original recording producer) or after that time, when the newer member of Gottstine came in succesfully and made a full-lenght studio album named I'll Be Around, where one track will perhaps be the final entry from them and for their homestate of this edition of Superstars & Stripes! Read more down below and click on the specific link if you want. ★ Biography ★ Discography ★ Photos ★Song: "Used To Call Me Baby"The song was penned by the band's mandolin player, Wayne Gottstine. It's featured on their 2001-studio album, Never Make It Home, as the track no. 6. The album finds Split Lip Rayfield evolving to a more mature, complex approach that calls to mind the late-'60s rock/bluegrass alliance between Dillard & Clark. The song was chosen intentionally by themselves to find out if one of their country/bluegrass-examples will give their homestate a chance to qualify. Eitherway it's pretty much about strapping yourselves and get the boots to dance for their fast and furious musical ride! ★ Lyrics ★Well I walk on down to the grocery store My dozen things, the things that I like Make it back home when I’m damn well good and ready Stay out and drink, drink till I’m done. Nighttime drives me crazy, I bang my fist on the wall. Used to call me baby, now she don’t call at all. My brother Phil came on over yesterday Played Donkey Kong, all the day long If you were here, lord that never would’ve happen’ I should be happy girl that you’re gone. Nighttime drives me crazy, I bang my fist on the wall. Used to call me baby, now she don’t’ call at all... Nighttime drives me crazy, I bang my fist on the wall. Used to call me baby, now she don’t’ call at all Nighttime drives me crazy, I bang my fist on the wall. Used to call me baby, now she don’t’ call at all
