I guess this is a way for the contest to gain posts (not that it has enough already), and to gain more popularity. I hope that this post show that i am interested enough and i can be kept on the waiting list A question: when does the month start till the waiting list is updated another question: will we get tagged in reminders to show that we are interested Maybe. Maybe not. If not then you'll have to be online unless you have a good reason and just try and remember. But if yes then you'll hopefully receive the notification and post something reasonable.

I guess it's not too hard to understand that we (and with we I don't only mean the council but probably most players) don't want inactive people to join, who come here twice per edition and confirm last minute every time, so no need to be so passive-aggressive about it. In the end the contest lives from its activity and it's surely not too much to ask to post once in a while. I personally also perceive it as rather normal than weird to follow a contest you're waiting for to join

Why does a post have to be in the NVSC board? I'd say that participating and therefore also posting in other contests is showing enough reliability and activeness.

I mean, if someone just logs in once a month to post something like "great song" in some thread and then logs off for another month that doesn't make him that much more active does it? Well no. They will still have to active without a reasonable excuse. Like on holiday or exams.

Well, it is logical a bit. If someone is really interested in taking part in NVSC, then he or she wouldn't need Tufkai's tag in order to see Jens' post. Besides, there are people that didn't post on the forum since last year anywhere, but regularly come online, just not to be deleted. That isn't quite fair.

They will still have to active without a reasonable excuse. Like on holiday or exams. The rules state that as a Waiting List user you have to be online at least once a month and post something related to NVSC once a month, so if I log in on the 3rd of January and post "great songs" in a NS thread and then log off until the 3rd of February to do the exact same thing, I can't be kicked out off the Waiting List since I'm following the rules or am I missing something?

Then if they have enough posts in total to look active or seem active then they can stay but if no posts and don't seem active the they should go off the list.

Honestly, it's about bloody time rules like these were implemented Also while I understand the criticism of the NVSC-related posts... so what? You are putting yourself on an NVSC waiting list which basically means you are interested in NVSC. Even just a short paragraph on the final results video, which I'm sure the vast majority of people who are interested in the contest watch, would suffice. I don't see any counterargument that's significant enough. Lowkey think that some people are fearing some sort of non-existent NVSC purge But yes, I am interested to see how this pans out. It will get rid of the 40-50 users who clearly aren't that interested, but how effective will it be in the future, as implied by the posts above?
