Denmark in the contest
DR shown interest on participating in the contest very early. They confirmed their debut a few hours after the submissions of the contest had opened. Denmark has so far internally selected their first four entries. They started hosting Dansk Melodi Grand Prix since the fifth edition. Their best result is so far their victories in the fourth, eleventh and fourteenth editions while their worst result is the eighteenth place in the semi-final achieved in the thirteenth edition. Denmark has so far been seven times in the semi-finals while they were a member of the big five in the second, third, fifth, twelfth, fifteenth and sixteenth editions, making them one of the countries with the highest number of big 5/6 participations.
The list of Danish representatives include Medina, Aura Dione and Tim Schou. Amaranthe represented the country twice and managed to win both editions. Julie Berthelsen and Paw&Lina are so far the only artists that did not manage to qualify to the final of the edition they participated in. |

DMPG 04: New format
 Even if the third edition is still ongoing, the broadcaster has already started plans for the fourth edition. The format will once again change. DR decided to remove the duels even if the system was quite successful. The national selection will include only one final with 10 songs; 9 Danish acts and 1 foreigner act. As in the first edition, the artists can submit songs for the selection through the official website once the submissions will be open. More information will be revealed later. |

DMGP 04: All songs announced Yesterday, DR presented the last song of the fourth edition of Dansk Melodi Grand Prix. Ten songs are competing in this edition, more than any edition since the first one which had sixteen songs. The running order will be revealed on 28 March 2014 and the voting will start on 1 April 2014 and will last two weeks. The results show is yet to be decided. |

NORTH VISION SONG CONTEST 09
Denmark will participate in NVSC 9!
Earlier today, it was revealed during the press conference for the first semi-final that Denmark will participate in the 9th edition of North Vision. The country will make its ninth appearance in the contest, making it one of the countries to participate in all the editions of the contest. It was also revealed that DR will be hosting a fifth edition of Dansk Melodi Grand Prix, the national selection of the country.
A fifth edition for DMGP!
The edition will have the same format as the last edition after the duels-format was dropped down from the fourth edition. There will be only a final with ten songs including the one foreign act. For a second time in a row, Medina will be presenting the show while the host venue will be the recently renewed B&W Hallerne which hosted the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest. The schedule will be announced later as the songs have not been decided yet. However, it has been already announced that apart from the foreign act, all the other songs will be in the Danish language. |

 FORMAT OF DMGP 07 HAS BEEN REVEALED! Logo of Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 07.Yesterday, the format of the seventh edition of the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix was presented. As it was reported before, the format was kept from the sixth edition with some minor changes. The edition will once again have one final with ten acts participating. However, it was decided that the Foreign Act will be removed and replaced by the Returning Act. The returning act can be a singer that has previously represented the country in the contest or a singer that has participated in the selection. The songs presentation will start on Friday, 3 October with three songs being presented each day with the returning act being presented on the fourth day.
As for the voting, the jury groups system will be kept. The countries will be able to apply to be part of the jury right after the songs presentation. Apart from the songs presentation dates, there have not been any more dates revealed as the schedule can be changed at any time. However, it is expected that the selection's voting will start around 10-15 October with the results being published about one week later. |

FORMAT OF DMGP 10 HAS BEEN REVEALED! Logo of Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 10.The format of the 10th Dansk Melodi Grand Prix was presented yesterday during the first press conference held by DR for the competition. It was announced that 30 out of the about 500 applied acts for the selection have been selected to advance to the next stage. As reported by the head of delegation during the press, the format of the selection would be completely changed for this edition. However, it is unknown whether it will be kept for future editions. The head of delegation said:"We wanted to make something special for the 10th edition of the competition, so we decided to go with this kind of format. It will of course take a lot more of time and money to make this possible, but I think it's worth it. I hope Europe will enjoy our show and will also find it an interesting way to choose our entry for the next Northvision."The 10th edition will have the format of a talent show and will consist of two main stages: the auditions and the live shows. The auditions will be pre-recorded televised shows and therefore the public will have no influence on the choice of the artists. During the auditions, the 30 selected artists will perform for the juries and 10 of them will advance to the second stage of the selection, the live shows. The live shows stage will consist of five shows in total. During the live shows, both the jury and public will be voting and decide who will advance to the next live show. During the first three live shows, two acts will be eliminated form each, making a total of six acts eliminated. On the fourth show, and the semi-final, one act will be eliminated while the other three will advance to the final of the selection.It was also revealed that the jury for the live shows will not be full with Danish professionals, as it was decided that the jury will be international. Out of the four juries, one will be Danish and the other three will be selected among the countries that applied for a jury place. However, the jury during the auditions will be solely made up from Danes. The rest of the countries, as well as the Danish public, will be able to vote as part of the televoting only during the live shows. |

SONG PRESENTATION TODAY!The official presentation of the Danish song will take place today with entrance at 17:30 CET.
The show will start about 10 minutes later but it all depends on the attendance for the show.
The show will last about 12 minutes, including the duration of the full song.
