 Algeria will start taking part in NVSC in the 8th edition ! For that, a big national selection will be organized. A thread is to come (maybe this weekend), to explain all the rules, who will stay the same for every edition. |

The results of the poll were just revealed. By 14 votes against 6, it was decided that raï will be introduced in the next NS !!
Although there has been some explanations which were misunderstood: of course there will NOT only have raï, but quite a few of it because it's a main genre of the Algerian music.
( Canal Algérie is currently working on the song list).

Algerian Rythms #1: Cancel of the battlesDue to lack of voters and organisation problems, Canal Algérie has decided to cancel the battles for this edition. Although the selection will still happen: the winners of the battles have been selected internally and will compete in a final with a 9th Algerian song and a Foreign act. A recap video for the final will come very soon. The deadline will be on Thursday, May 1st.Here is the two songs added to the final: - The Crush:

- All the rules in regard of the selection are explained here .
- The Foreiger Final will start as soon as the council has valided my acts.
- All the songs will be revealed between today and the end of the month. |

An Arabic song for NVSC #11 !Now it's official. After long discussions, CA can now officially confirm that a song has been selected internally for the upcoming edition.
Few details were revealed at the moment, but the broadcaster can also claim that the song will be sung in the Arabic language for the first time.
Here is the declaration from the Head of Delegation, Phil A. :
"We've had quite a few controversies with our three first contestants ; now we wanted to listen to the audience's demands, and the main thing they asked was a song in Arabic language.
We still want not to say a lot about the artist and the song so far ; more details should be revealed after the Final Results of NVSC #10 .
At the moment we are focussing on the results of Algeria in the current edition, after we qualified to the Final for the very first time.
Good luck to Zaho in Bergen !"
Which kind of song could it be ? Only time can tell !
