If Angela Merkel would say that Germany does not participate anymore in ESC because she does not want so, the whole Europe would laugh at the probably most powerful woman in Europe.

Yeah, in this case Turkey is pretty unlucky with its broadcaster since there are (accidentally) a few people with a lot of power in the case of the participation who could decide about the participation of Turkey. But then still I think the broadcaster should listen to the voice of the public and not to the voice of the president. If only the president and the HoD of TRT doesn't like the Eurovision Song Contest they shouldn't have the opportunity to let Turkey withdraw. In a democratic country the people are able to decide about a topic like this as well. And as I mentioned before, I'm still sure that Erdogan shouldn't have the opportunity to give his subjective opinion about something like this. You're totally right! TRT is just a stupid broadcaster for us! They don't listen to the public! They listen to Erdogan. Imagine, they were protests in Istanbul because Turkey didn't participate at Eurovision! Nothing happened! And nothing will happen - I'm sure!

The leader of a democratic country shouldn't give a subjective opinion about a situation generally. He should make the laws together with the majority and then he has to see if it'll work out nice. If it doesn't or he disagrees he can change/remove the laws. Erdogan mixes first of all himself in situations where he shouldn't have any influences and secondly it's simply not right that if a president says he doesn't like something then the transferring side does directly what he wants. I'm sure TRT wanted to paricipate if they already chose the participant. Erdogan just destroyed this wish of them. And that's what I mean; it's Erdogan's fault in this case that Turkey withdrew in 2013. Or do you think the government in my country is able to say anything about our participation in the Eurovision Song Contest? Our goverment can also say that Netherlands wont participate in Eurovision cause AvroTros is of the goverment! Only we dont do that ! Well actually that's wrong. If our government would give the AvroTros the task to withdraw without asking the public there would come for sure a lot of protests. In at least our laws there stands that the government could make the laws but they can't give their opinion about the elaboration of them. If they see there goes something wrong they could change/remove them of course. And in that case they couldn't say that the AvroTros has to withdraw since firstly they can't give their subjective opinion about this as I already mentioned earlier and secondly this decision still has to be made together with the majority who should think the same about the topic (majority = public in this case ).

Nothing happened! And nothing will happen - I'm sure! Indeed. It would be better if the EBU would accept at least a broadcaster which would bring the Turkish entries which isn't dependent from the opinion of Erdogan. But it would still mean that if Erdogan didn't say anything about the Turkish participation in the Eurovision Song Contest Turkey would've most likely participated. That's why I disagree with Erdogan as leader; I think the leader of a country should be (much) more neutral against the proceedings in a country.

If we would have an election if Switzerland should withdraw from ESC 80-90% of all the voters would be yes.
