 BREAKING NEWS: Austria boycotts IMF
Vienna, Austria - Following ZOΓ's non-qualification, ORF has
decided to boycott IMF, due to the unfairness of quarterfinals.
(this is not because Austria didn't qualify, it is because of the discrepancies of QFs)
The President of ORF stated the following regarding the new system:
"This is nothing like we've seen before; 34 songs, more than the final, squeezed in a quarter-final for one continent. This is not just about allowing the whole world to participate, it was a great idea at first, but now this has become one big mess. It now appears that a limited number of nations will compete, however it will only be fair if there are 2-3 semi-finals with the same amount of participants. Another option would just be cancelling that international country option, but we in ORF doubt that'd happen. That is why we, ORF, will boycott the contest until something is done about the system."
Please note that this is not a withdrawal, the final decision will be made when the system is announced. |
