I don't think Laura meant to be negative towards Greece and Cyprus, although she didn't have say who didn't deserve to qualify. Also If I remember correctly, Conchita said to a Finnish journalist that PKN's non-qualification surprised her and she wondered how they didn't qualify from the semi-final, although she didn't say any countries etc.
And yes, Conchita liked Aina mun pitää Or she just flattered to the journalist.
Edit: Btw, our commentator did it way worse. He immediately questioned Cypriot qualification and after Belgium was revealed to be the last qualifier, he felt sorry for Blanche that she has to perform again.
I didn't know that about Conchita! Wow, she actually liked PKN! This is interesting actually
Really no comments about your commentator. That was just too mean. Like seriously, it's just so rude to make such comments. I guess a commentator should be neutral with every single country, just a a bit more positive towards their own one. It's kind of weird because Finland is not one of those countries that have bad relations with anyone (like for example Armenia with Azerbaijan). However, I remember from back when Turkey were taking part, our commentator never really showed any negativity against them
And yes, commentators should be neutral, but too bad YLE hasn't realized it. Nowadays our commentators have been needled when eg. , or has got 12 points from a neighbor. But the worst case (which nowadays makes me little bit laugh about it) was when in 2013 one of the commentators said: And now our former war ally, Germany (referring to the 2nd World War). Thank god it didn't become a scandal.
I really miss the times when Asko Murtomäki and Jaana Pelkonen commentated ESC...
