NEWS FROM UKRAINE
A few days ago, some unexpecting news has been published to the public of Ukraine.
As other HoDs might have noticed,  NTU actually confirmed the 12th edition
of "Pivnichbachennya Natsionalny Vidbir" three months ago.
However, during these months until now, the HoD and his delegation had some
discussions. These were about the sense of running a national selection for many
months and if the potential winner will ever have success later on.
The HoD: "When I and my delegation have chosen the line-up for PNV #12, we were
confident about the songs being unique and more or less potential entries in their
own ways. The doubts about the NS being successful in choosing the right song began
already during the voting time. We had the feeling that fewer HoDs showed interest in
Ukrainian songs, compared to PNV #11.
And now, as the Gold Final had to start the next days, we don't have a good feeling.
It's time that something has to happen."
The latest decision is as follows:
The Ukrainian delegation has agreed on canceling the currently ongoing
national selection and switch to an internal selection.
The affected participants have been informed about it already.
That means that the songs included in PNV #12 have to be noted down on the list of
songs that Ukraine has unfortunately lost as potential (national selection) participants.
