Shovkovskyi/Peter if you want to do so much research then that's good for you. But I can clearly say that I'm (and probably several others either) absolutely not going to do that. At least if I understood it correctly 'cause it's quite complicated. I've my artist if we need to send someone living abroad, but that's it.

I just had an interesting idea (at least I find it interesting) for future special editions (I know that this idea hasn't been used anywhere, because it's not easy, but is quite interesting actually): the idea is that we use a singer/band that has gained more popularity in an abroad country than locally. And the artist has to be living in the country you represent... which means, I for example won't be able to use Viktoria Modesta, because she's living in UK and obviously has gained more popularity there than in Latvia. The same would go for artists like Laura Rizzotto etc. It has to be a local artist... it can be a well known or unknown artist... only thing you'd need to prove is - is he/she (or a band) really more popular in an abroad country? One way to find that out would be looking at either the amount of concerts, prizes and other success rates... If the amount of concerts is the criterion, you can't take for example all concerts around Europe vs the local ones... for example - for us a popular "market" is Russia. So the criterion would be - there have to be more concerts planned in Russia at the same time frame as in Latvia... I hope the idea is clear... I mean, if Latvia has at least 2 artists that would fit the theme, I think other countries won't have problems with it as well - maybe only some of the very small countries... Obviously it's just an idea, but we could take it in consideration! I don't even know if that kind of singer exists for France. France is the largest French speaking country in the world, so seeing a French singer leaving the country for his career is extremely rare, and seeing him becoming more successful in that country than in France is extremely unlikely. At least seeing a song in French, by a French artists, becoming more popular in any other country in the world than in France is almost impossible. There are tons of foreign singers who settled in France for their career (as main or secondary country) but among the thousands of French singers I know, I could only mention one of them who could barely fit with your theme: Katy Line - I already used her in this contest. She made a first career in France and a second one in Italy (with songs in Italian) but we cannot see that she was more popular in Italy than in France. Actually she got completely forgotten and we could even consider as a miracle the fact that I found her more than 50 years later. The only way would be to do researches on singers born in France but gone to another country during their childhood and who became famous in their new country but stayed unknown in their natal country (because I don't know any singer born in France, gone abroad, famous there and known in France). That could eventually exist, but sincerely finding them would require a prodigious effort. I would rather search any proof of intelligence in Trump's tweets.

italix fabbi It was just an idea... I'm not saying we have to use it... it would be interesting, but if you think/know that you can't do it, then let's forget it and move on...

ferrygraf mimisthesc suggestion: Could you also add the flag of each country/user next to their name in the spoiler tags?
