 LXANDRA TO REPRESENT FINLAND  Lxandra will be carrying the Finnish flag in the 25th edition of the North Vision Song Contest, YLE has announced today. YLE can also announce that the SMK format will still be used to select her song, though more details will be released in time. Lxandra is a 21-year-old singer-songwriter, originally from Suomenlinna, an island near Helsinki, who now resides in  Berlin, Germany. There, she has begun work on her music and upcoming debut album. Lxandra's music is indie-tinged pop, combining electronic elements with classic contemporary pop undertones, comparable to that of Adele, Sia or Lana Del Rey.  Russian ConfirmationThe  Russian broadcasters can announce that after coming 8th in the grand final in  Vienna, they will be present in the upcoming edition in  Morocco. They entry will be selected internally and the submission for the upcoming participation is open. We will personally contact some artists if they want to take part for Russia and we will take submission from artist who want to go without the broadcaster contacting them. After the deadline, we will shorten the list and going to start conversations with the selected artists. More information will follow. |

  Czech Republic confirms their participationČeská televize announced after the results of the North Vision Song Contest #24 that the Czech Republic will participate in the upcoming edition, which will be held in Morocco. The representative will be selected by a national selection meaning that the Musical Star will be used for the sixth time to select the entrant for the North Vision Song Contest. Any other information about the national selection hasn't been revealed yet, but the HoD has promised that the songs will be announced in the upcoming days. |

Israel's also confirming its participation!Yesterday night Nama finished in 5th place in  #24 and therefore earned her country its third prequalification in its history. After that the broadcaster can announce the country's participation in the upcoming edition held in  Morocco. The entry will be selected internally for the second time in a row as it's proven successful. We're already in talks with two particular artists and hope to announce the entry asap (Council check that Pm ffs  ) Having reached a milestone already when Nama brought her country the consecutive qualification for the only second time after editions #3 and #4, the upcoming edition will mark another one as it'll be the third final in a row for Israel, something never happening before. |

KVF has revealed that the Faroese entry for the upcoming Northvision Song Contest is going to be revealed on 27 May 2018. The entrant and song were chosen via a brand new internal selection format in which five possible entries were presented to different Heads of Delegations around Europe. Their opinions have been considered for the final choice of the entry.

Time for a little update - The Israeli entrant has been found!Being not exactly known for sending a lot of male solo artists in the past, the broadcaster decided to do so again after 4 editions. Hint: His name is NOT the same as one of the council members.
