The Pohunskan Election Have Been Announced! After months of fierce debating, the votes from across Pohunskia have been counted and the country will have a new president. The future of our country will be forever changed depending on who is chosen to lead it.  It is now official! The Pohunskan Social Democrats have won a landslide victory for the presidency while the Pohunskan Libertarians come second with a measly 28% of the votes. This has given our new president Elvana Schneider a massive mandate. She will have to let in some of the members of the second and third parties into her cabinet. Both Joe Jonas and Sylvia Novaka will be in her cabinet but we are unsure what positions they will be given. The two smallest parties not even passing 10% of the vote shows that both the far right and far left do not have a large following in the country despite how vocal the individuals from these parties may be.  Here is Elvana Schneider, the new president of Pohunskia! May she serve our country and the people well! We were able to go to her acceptance speech in Noroyska City Hall. "Thank you people of Pohunskia for voting me to be your new president! I am honoured to not only be your president but also the first trans female to accept this role. Our country has proven to the world that we will not only reject the ideals of Pohunskia First but we will fight against it. Now is the time for me to prove to the people of Pohunskia that I am the right person for the job and I will fight for all Pohunskans! I want to help build more homes, better healthcare, and education for all! Pohunskia should also spread its wings and aim to cooperate with more nations across fantasia. Building a better future for Pohunskans and Fantasians alike. Forming new alliances and showing that peace always works. I will make sure that our great federation will not only survive but thrive! Pohunskia Has Altered The National Anthem!News report on TV For decades the people of Pohunskia have always felt like the old national anthem of our nation did not make much sense musically. Due to this, the Pohunskan government let one of the top music writers help improve our national anthem. The national anthem was announced live on TV in front of the government building in Noroyska city where the government ministers will stand. Pohunskia the Land of the Free! "We sailed across ocean, Filled with devotion, Searching for our land, As people hand in hand, Then we swore, To protect the land, we adore… Pohunskia, Pohunskia! A new country finally appeared on the newly renamed Werdianan peninsula in Southern Serica. Werdiana is a federation of more than 1,055,000sqkm and more than 112 million people. We are honored to join the world of Fantasia, and welcome all the countries to relax on our tropical beaches, explore our immense jungles, enjoy the traditional Werdianan cuisine and culture, join the Werdianan Carnival Month that takes place every July. We also hope to establish positive diplomatic relations with all the countries of Fantasia and to cooperate as much as possible to make our planet an even better place for future generations to come! We will also make sure to edit the Werdiana wiki page on the Fantasia wiki with as many information as possible about our country, because this post won't be enough. Meet Werdiana! 
Werdiana is unique in terms of religion. In our country, almost 60% of the population claims that religion plays an important role in their life and 85% believes in the existence of some sort of superior being, like one or more Gods. The Neopagan religions of Hellenism and Kemeticism are heavily practiced in the country, most commonly in a form of religious syncretism (that is, a single person believing in more than one religion). Obviously, Werdiana is a vast country. There are regions where the majority of the population practices one of the two religions, but the most important thing is that Hellenism and Kemeticism have always co-existed peacefully throughout the millenary history of Werdiana, and nowadays are considered an integral part of our national identity. In the picture above you can see the ancient ruins of the city of Paestum, in the state of Templia, but keep in mind that finding statues dedicated to gods and temples is not rare at all, especially in biggest cities. Every religion is tolerated by the government, as it's written in the latest Constitution of 1968, and religion-based discrimination is severely punished.
Werdiana is hot. Because of the country's location on the Fantasian Equator, Werdiana experiences massive heat waves every summer. The temperature can be as high as 50°C (or 122°F) during summer, while it tends to be stable at 10°C (50°F) in the inner flat regions during winter, despite still averaging about 20°C (68°C) on the coastal areas. Because of these high average temperatures, Werdiana can arguably be considered to be one of the hottest countries in Fantasia. Tourists are often advised to bring some cold water and to wear hats when they go outside during summer. The highest temperature ever recorded in Werdiana was a whopping 53.5°C (128.3°F) on 26 July 2014, in Gerawia, the capital city of the state of Gerawan Islands, while the coldest temperature was a −27.7°C (−17.86°F) and was recorded on 20 January 2004 on the mountains of Vinivevia, another Werdianan State. The picture shows a chunk of beach on one of the islands of the Gerawan Archipelago, on the extreme south of Werdiana.
One of Werdiana's biggest cultural events is definitely Carnival Month. Celebrated every July, Carnival Month consists of many different celebrations and parades taking place in most cities, particularly in the South and the coastal areas. Colorful costumes, ensigns and flags all animate those amazing moments of celebration, which often last for entire days. Dances and concerts keep going until the evening comes, when sometimes a bonfire (the famous "Werdianan bonfire") is light up on the beach, with people dancing and celebrating life and summer around the bonfire, often offering food (milk, meat, fruit) as a sacrifice to the Gods. Every year, Carnival Month also always hosts many different gay prides as well.Some of the official maps of our country

Werdiana wins first friendly soccer match against Breavania (4-0)
Great news for today as Werdiana played her first ever friendlies against the Sakodan country of  Breavania. The match resulted in an unexpected, but happily welcomed, Werdianan victory. Our national team managed to take 4 goals home, without letting the Breavanian team scoring a single goal. Despite Werdiana being one of the countries where soccer hasn't managed to gather a good crowd of fans (only around 26% of the population, in fact, is interested in this sport on a daily basis), the country didn't miss the opportunity to celebrate such an important win. The coach of our national team stated he's extremely proud of our victory and that he hopes we'll keep adding more wins in the future.
Werdiana to establish its first foreign relations. The country to join ASS
Werdiana is looking forward to establish her first diplomatic relations with other countries in Fantasia. The Werdianan government has already reached out to Suuher and Ulikana, filling their forms some days ago. To all the other nations of Fantasia, if you're interested in establishing diplomatic relations with Werdiana, please message me privately either here or on Discord (#MemphisAlex910314🏳🌈❤#7559). If you have some forms, let me know so that I can fill them out. Finally for today, Werdiana is also looking forward to join ASS and is ready to cooperate and collaborate with the other member states.

Pohunskan Events... Energy, Gas and Water Companies Have Been Bought by Pohunskan Government - The president has announced that the government has bought all the water, energy, and gas companies in the country. Everyone who lives in Pohunskia will be given these services and will be paid the same way as healthcare. Many Pohunskans were paying thousands for their utilities and those who lived in poverty had to choose between food or heating. Many Pohunskans will see a new Utility tax and those in poverty will be exempt. The government of Pohunskia will invest billions in renewable technology and aims to be the world leader in renewables. Pohunskan Plans to Build New Housing Across the Country - The Pohunskan people have been struggling to pay for housing whether it is rented or bought. To deal with this problem, the president of Pohunskia has announced the building of new towns across the nation. These houses will be a mix of government-owned housing for the nation's poorest and privately built housing. The population of Pohunskia has been steadily growing and these new towns will help make housing more affordable. The government has also passed a bill giving a strict setlist of pricing for rented housing. Rented housing has been high for many years especially for students. With this new bill, landlords will only be allowed to set the rent at a certain level depending on how many bedrooms the property has. Landlords will have to get expressed permission from their tenants if they want to pay for any improvements. If landlords break these rules they will be warned or fined, depending on how many times they have broken these new rules. |

Upon the advent of a new year, Yeukiwanese ascension to the Association of Southern Serica remains a polarizing debate.

At the end of 2021 fiscal year, the Yeukiwanese government reported having a GDP per purchasing parity of 3.189 trillion, marking a little more than a 3% increase from the year's prior GDP of& 3.115 trillion. This economic growth is a product of the seemingly successful economic reforms introduced at the end of 2020 which gave foreigners an easier pathway to invest in the country's diverse economy. Economists say these reforms poise the nation to continue experiencing stable economic growth well into the new year and will help the country play a bigger role in the global market. These new changes in economic policies signal a switch in the government's long-held protectionist and conservative mindset, which has also historically dominated Yeukiwanese societal thought. As such, there are those who have called on the government to further integrate into the global machines,& pointing to the positive results of integration into the foreign market. One organization that they push for the country to join is the Association of Southern Serica, which has emerged just some months ago as political, social, and economic union between the states of Southern Serica. The country however remains divided on the topic and seems unable to reach a general consensus on whether to join the union or not. Proponents of this plan see integration into the union as positive motion that would not only benefit the economy, but also society as a whole and is essential to building a united Southern Serica. Critics argue that joining the union would dismantle the neutrality of Yeukiwan and undermine the self-determination of its citizens.What is the Association of Southern Serica?
Blossoming from an ambitious plan to unite South Serica under one flag laid out by the Namimorish government in February 2021, actions to establish a union of South Serican states were put in motion by mid 2021, and by the Spring/Summer of 2021, the Association of Southern Serica, abbreviated as ASS, was firmly established as an economic union for the Southern region of the Serican continent. The union has since emerged as a global powerhouse with the mission statement of "promoting intergovernmental cooperation and facilitating economic, political, security, military, educational, and sociocultural integration" in the Southern Serican region. Additionally, it has established a security community, an economic community, and a socio-cultural community, so as to better "promote regional peace and stability based on the rule of law and the principle of United Nations charter." It currently comprises of 11 members states from across the Southern Serican region, including Amelia, Katsyria, Kuwiang, Llort, Namimori, Qasentria, Saint Vittorria,  Shinkoyu, Wedse, Werdiana, and Yster. However, a handful of countries in Southern Serica, mainly in the eastern portion, are not a part of the union. Among these countries is Yeukiwan, who has not sought ascension into the union since the supranational organization's inception. The country's absence is noticeable given Yeukiwan's position as the 3rd-largest country in terms of area, population, and presumably economy, in the Southern Serican area. Therefore, the country's membership would certainly bring a lot to the union. Initiating these talks for membership however is halted by the heated debate in the country.

When news broke that the Association of Southern Serica had finally come into fruition, all across the southern sphere of the continent people expressed jubilation. What has historically been a divided region was now seemingly to be united as one. Many nation states rushed to join the union with 11 states joining the union in a matter of just half a year. But, in Yeukiwan, many did not react with such jubilation that others did. Instead, a sense of hesitation became prevalent amongst the populace as they pushed back against any motion for the Yeukiwanese government to join the union. Such resentment is a reflection of the country's long-held weariness of alien civilizations, a product of the nearly 300 years of Jaranese colonization which caused many to reject foreign intervention. These ideals were further reinforced when, upon independence from Jarea in 1960, the ensuing military junta enacted protectionist and isolationist policies, with succeeding democratic governments following suit, all of which gave rise to the modern-day conservative Yeukiwanese society. And for that, many in the country oppose ascension to the union.In line with their views, some argue that joining the union would destroy the neutrality of the country and force it to side with the union in foreign affairs, thereby dismantling the self-determination of Yeukiwan. Sun-Young Pung, leader of "Say no to the ASS," opposed joining the union, stating: "To join the association would be to go against our core values of neutrality of self-determination, both of which are fundamental to the Yeuki identity. We must always have the choice on what actions we choose to take, and in the union we wouldn't be able to." Proponents of the union argue that intergovernmental cooperation is necessary to building a united Southern Serica and that Yeukiwan needs to be involved in decisions that will affect the continent. They point to the positive benefits of opening up to the world can have on the country, such as the recent economic policies which brought heighted foreign investment to country that in turn helped spur economic growth and that access to a common market in South Serica would only serve to further boost the economy. Moreover, ethnic minorities in the country have overwhelmingly shown their support for the union. In specific, a salient Wedsen minority who number about 30,000, see the union as way to reconnect with their motherland. However, others in the country seem unwilling to cooperate with what they view as a hostile neighbor. In recent times, Wedse, which borders Yeukiwan to the southeast, has acted aggressive without provocation. On 6 May 2020, the Wedse launched an invasion on Yeukiwan's then western neighbor Yster and its eastern regions of Wedsen-dubbed Chan and latter region bordered Yeukiwan to the southeast prompting the Yeukiwanese army to send in soldiers to guard the area. Soon after, Wedse forcibly entered Takimorujin, which borders Yeukiwan to the south, amidst the government's collapse and set up military bases there. Though in both cases the Wedsen government claimed they were helping people in the respective regions, those in Yeukiwan saw the moves as nothing but unprovoked acts of aggression. The advance into Yster was seen as a way to infringe into the doorsteps of Yeukiwan, and the implementation of millitary bases in Takimorujin were seen as launching pad for a potential attack on Yeukiwan. More recently, on Oct 4, 2021, the Wedsen government posted a photo stating the threat levels each country in the Serican continent pose to the sovereignty of the Wedsen state, and in that map Yeukiwan was stated as posing a major threat to that sovereignty. All of these cases have led to a strain on Yeukiwanese-Wedsen relations and has been cause for the development of negative view on Wedse amongst the Yeukiwanese population. As such, many object to membership in the union as it means they would have to cooperate with Wedse who they don't see eye-to-eye with. Chinua Mönkhbat, journalist at the Seocho-based Wedsen TV station "Medee" sees the union as a way to rekindle the soured relationship with Wedse, stating: "While it is true that the Wedsen government has acted unprovoked recently, the union can act as a mediator to rebuild the destroyed relationship between our countries and pave the way for ethnic Wedsens in the country to return home" All-in-all, it is evident that the country remains divided on the topic. So, will a resolution ever be found?
Is Yeukiwanese ascension to the association feasible?
With such contrasting opinions towards the subject it may seem that integration into the Association of Southern Serica is unachievable, there is actually some cause for hope. While the government at-large retains a non-interventionist attitude towards the discussion, hoping that the people themselves can find a general consensus to the problem, incumbent president Moon-Jae In has promised to find a resolution to the problem before his term expires next month in February. In a interview with YNBS the president was asked about Yeukiwan's future in the& Association of Southern Serica to which he responded: "It is complicated and nothing is for certain. What I can say for certain though is while I can't appease everyone, I will find a solution to the ASS problem before my time in office comes to an end" The solution though remains a mystery, leading some to speculate that an impromptu referendum will be held soon. Whatever the case may be, the problem will be settled soon.

Glaiola's fails to qualify in the Fantasia Contest after 4 edition qualification streak.

On the Sunday 13th February, it was sadly announced that the country's representatives Jarina De Marco & Dylan Brady with their song "Ilegales" failed to qualify to the Grand Final in the 28th edition of the Fantasia Contest held in Glacea. Some Glaiolans were disappointed in the result and said they deserved to qualify, while others expected it, as they felt the entry was not the most accessible. However, many Glaiolan artists have expressed interest in participating in future editions, to help the country get back to the Grand Final.

This afternoon there was a large flock of goats in the country's capital. This was due to goats somehow escaping farmer trucks and thus ended up causing disruption in the city. Many farmers are outraged that their transportation equipment is not completely goatproof. They've been mixed reviews of this recent goat havoc, one person said that:

This is definitely a day to remember in the city, regardless of how people feel about it. They are currently petitions created by animal rights activists to the government to improve the security and safety of animal carrying vehicles.
FANA\CLF qualification almost comes to an end, Glaiola loses to Whenua Wai.

 Glaiola lost their most recent FANA World Cup qualifying match to  Whenua Wai, who scored 2 goals, while Glaiola scored 1 goal. However, they have one match left and are still in the running for a World Cup qualification against Angostura, who are also the country's competitors for the next matchday. It's all to play for, many Glaiolan's are on the edge of their seats, while organising watch parties for the next matchday. Will the country succeed into the World Cup or will they just miss out? Let's see how they perform next Monday.
