Introducing Meridia!! (again)![]()  After countless failed attempts to contact the Reference Board, this sovereign nation is finally displaying itself to the rest of Fantasia! Meridia is located somewhere in Wulfor close to the sea. (I have no idea where in this continent  )It is considered a melting pot, with immigrants from many Fantasian countries, and is the center of time in Fantasia. (I think) Most common language is  Everish, the language of our settlers, some other languages spoken are  Aquian,  Lakadamian,  Nineliese,  Demacian, and  Glaraian, depending on the region. New HavenThe center of the arts and agriculture, New Haven is a cosmopolitan tourist trap city bursting with color, traffic and anything in between. Sections of the city include the Pink Palace, Tierney Square, and Broadview (essentially Fantasia's Broadway/West End or Meridia's  Center Broek). Languages: Everish, Lakadamian, Demacian, Nineliese Los SantosThe home of the stars, Los Santos is the seaside luxury of those who inhabit it. Sections of the city include Rosewood (no, not Hollywood), and too many suburbs to name. Languages: Everish, Aquian, Lakadamian BridgeportRight in the middle of it all is Bridgeport, where it's not too hot and not too cold. Essentially it's the cheaper alternative to the other two. Languages: Everish, Aquian, Lakadamian, Nineliese Broadcasters(or, the ones I might use for Fantasia Contest  )I don't have logos yet to upload, will do so later. MBC OneThe main TV channel of the Meridian Broadcasting Company, this channel broadcasts news, sports, comedies, dramas, reality shows - literally anything. This channel will also repeat some special programs from MBC One, with captions and Meridian Sign Language interpreters for the deaf. MBC ThreeThis is MBC's younger skewing cable channel, which timeshares with MBC Kids, MBC's cable channel for school age children, going on the air every night after MBC Kids logs off. MBC Three broadcasts shows for teens and young adults, including Drag Race Meridia and the semis of the Fantasia Contest. MBC FourThis is MBC's older skewing cable channel, which timeshares with MBC Jr., MBC's cable channel for preschoolers, going on the air every night after MBC Jr. logs off. MBC Four broadcasts mostly travel shows and adult educational shows, as well as repeats of older, defunct MBC programming. RadioWe can't forget MBC's radio stations, which provide drivetime entertainment and information to all Meridians (well, not everyone). They are: MBC Radio One, MBC's main radio station, which plays Top 40 hits every day and news every hour; MBC Radio Two, which plays older music and broadcasts comedy shows and other variety programming, including the Fantasia Contest; MBC Radio Three, which plays classical music and opera shows; MBC Radio Four, which broadcasts news and information; MBC Radio Five, which broadcasts live discussion and sports, and MBC Radio Six, which only broadcasts music. ICIYA: TWO TERRITORIAL REFERENDUMS FOR MAY 2022.
The L shaped territory of  Iciya will be voting on two referendums that will be both happening on the 15 May 2022.
The first referendum concerns a regional reform, and complete with the second referendum, but it's to plan to reform the regional division of the territory, and to allow it's capital city, the city of Silvènio, to become it's own regional sub-division within the territory.
The second referendum, which is the most important one, due to it consisting about the potention secession of the South of the territory, also known as the Vallée de Moshie, to make it become it's own territory within the Lakadamian Federation.
This move is justified by the distance between Silvènio and Moshie, but also for historical purpose, as for centuries, until the 1900s and the end of the Lakadamian Empire, Moshie was it's own territory, until it was merged and forcefully divided between Iciya,  Shisaka and  Victorya.
The Autonomous Territory of Victorya, a territory which wishes to become unilingually Everish, also encouraged this referendum to happen with it's townships located at the north, with no physical border to the rest of the territory.
This new territory will be built around the city of Moshie, and composed of nearly 700.000 inhabitants, with it's current territory spreading around 2 territories, Iciya and Victorya.
 
In case the results ends up in secession, the territory of Moshie, which would become the 27th Territory of the Federation, will have it's existence acknoleged on the 15 June 2022.
The future border of the territory will be shaped up corresponding to the results of the referendum. And a flag for the future territory, already used as a symbol for the "yes" has been already confirmed as the future flag of the territory in case they would win and seceed from Iciya.
POLITICS • POLLS VOTING • TERRITOIRES 2022
A NEW POLLING RESULT, AND DATES FOR ALL OF THE TERRITORIAL ELECTIONS.
A new poll has been released, which shows once more the dominance of the two main parties on the Left side of the Lakadamian Politics, around Les Verts - En Garaénn, and the Parti Socialiste Lakadamian, as both parties are taking up to 55% on those poll, the third party part of their political alliance, Force de Gauche, currently possess 12%, their highest polling since ever.
The rest of the graphic doesn't show much difference, the Parti Libéral Lakadamian still confirms it's 3rd place and set of official opposition, despite being friendly with the current governing coalition in the Federation. The Feminist party Elles! has also been polled for the first time, and just like the Parti Pirate Lakadamia, which are continually tagged of reaching more than 5% on the polls. Meanwhile, on the right side of the spectrum, Alternative Lakadamie and the Parti Républicain Lakadamian are sharing the leftovers crumbs, with 8% overall for both.
But the most important announcement was the scheduled elections for the upcoming 27 Territories, Autonomous Territories and Federal City District have been confirmed, to be held between June and December of 2022. The first voting territory was confirmed to be the upcoming territory of Moshie, in case the "yes" wins, elsewise, it would be the territory of Appleplains.
The 2023 legislatives elections, the most important elections of them all, have been confirmed to be held in February 2023, more informations will be due to be expected within the upcoming months. |

In other news, the ministry of transportation announced plans for an inter-city rail route spanning across the country. The rail route will feature means of high-speed, eco-friendly travel, and stops in major cities across Novalia, plus a few cities in its neighboring countries. Clearly, today’s news is about bringing people together far and wide.
Novalia is a country in Central Wulfor bordering  Khamatin to the east, Demacia to the north-east, and  Sovarasma to the west. It ranks 85th in area (156,667 km2), and 84th in population (9.09 million). Its main national language is  Everish, although many citizens tend to speak  Lakadamian or  Demacian as a second language. Despite being particularly warm for its location near the Fantasian Equator, Novalia derives a lot of its culture from its cooler Wulforian counterparts up north. Its history can be seen and preserved all over the place, especially in its architecture; yet its cities can feel very modern and upbeat. The country is known for its thriving arts scene, which houses a rich and culturally diverse community. There are many art museums and music venues littered throughout the country, which encourage the people to take a stab at creating something worthwhile that can be seen by the local communities and beyond. Novalia also has a thriving music scene home to a multitude of artists. Two prominent genres in this music scene are indie and alternative rock. Every year, the country’s biggest music-related event, the Neon Gala, is hosted in Novalia’s capital of Nova City; where up-and-coming artists from across the country perform and show off their skill to the city.  2022 © NTR. ICIYA/MOSHIE: OVERWHELMING VICTORY OF THE "YES" CAMP.
On the 15 May 2022, the Iciyans from the south of the territory were able to vote in a referendum to decide on their future.
A referendum about the potential secession of a part of the territory, to form it's own territory, centered around the town of Moshie, was held, and although the results happened to not be surprising, it happened to be an actual overwhelming referendum.
With 72.4%, the YES has won the referendum, especially lead on with 30 out of the 62 towns that were asked for it, voted yes with more than 75% of the votes, including Moshie, but also the 4 towns from the AR of Victorya. 6 of these have in majority voted No.

As almost all work between the future territory, the territories of Iciya and Victorya (especially the drawing borders) has already been done, it has been wished that the future territory of Moshie, would received it's official independence from Iciya on the 1st of July 2022, while 2 days after that, on the 3rd of July, the Moshians, will be asked to vote for their very first local parliament, for the first time since 1907.

SHISAKA • REGIONAL DIVISION
SHISAKA: THE TRANSFORMATION OF THE AUTONOMOUS TERRITORY CONTINUES WITH THE SECOND STEP.
The autonomous territory of Shisaka, the only Jaranese-majority speaking of the Lakadamian Federation, is continuing it's internal transformation, following the name change a few months ago, now the local government as taken the decision to change the regional division of the AT.
Formely composed of 20 Districts, officially called "Prefectures" within 5 Regions, it has been decided to scrap those disctrict and regional division, to make place for a new way, between the district and the regions (larger than District, smaller than a Region), as shaped like this below:

The major change is that the amount of adminstrative divisions will be reduced from 20 to 12. Out of these, only 1 will remain unchanged, the District of Nagisa, while all of the others were all merged. Within those change is also to make the capital city of the territory to become it's own administrative entity within the Territory, as Shisaka becomes the 5th to follow this step, after Dèlmivdie, Iciya, Victorya and Quéstormat.
This change has been justified to make room for budgets to be used in other sectors within the territory.
VOTING • ELECTIONS • MANDATORY VOTING
LAKADAMIA: ELECTORAL VOTING PLANNED TO BECOME MANDATORY WITHIN THE COUNTRY
For the 2023 Parliament Elections, planned to be held in February 2023, the government has officially submitted it's fifth and final great point of the program of their 2021 Electoral Campaign, which is to make voting to become mandatory within the Lakadamian Federation for all type of elections.
Due to this being a major change within the Lakadamian Federation it has been confirmed that the voting will be held like this:
• June & July 2022 - Both the Assemblée Fédérale and the Haut Conseil will be shaping up the future law, with all of the wishes planned by the government to be discussed and voted, point by point. They will also be working on the national referendum which will be held in the Federation in October 2022, and with only the approval of both chambers.
• October 2022 - The Lakadamians will be asked via a referendum on either to approve or reject this constitutional change.
The wish of the Lakadamian government on this major change, is to involve more the Lakadamians into the political life of their country and territory, with expressing their choice. Another wish is the installation of an official recognition of the Blank Vote within the elections.
With this, Lakadamia would become one of the few Fantasian countries to establish mandatory voting for elections and referendums. |

Changes did happen! On the 2nd May of 2022, a state referendum was held in the Republic of Suuher. Despite the fact that voting in the referendum was not compulsory, thanks to the strong promotion and the fact that this date was already set as a day off six months earlier, the turnout rate was 81.75% - it is the highest score ever in the country history.
The referendum dealt with three questions. The president of the country, Ëbienya Řińa, ordered that these issues should not be raised internally. In her opinion - "each citizen should have their own voice on these topics. After all, we are not yet a dictatorship". The authorities have recently adopted many amendment bills. The referendum questions were too important to be considered in the meetings of Esenan or Ysenan.

The first question in the referendum was about possible change from bicameralist type of legisture to unicameralism. It is believed that unicameralism will be a better system for the Republic of Suuher. The country is small in terms of population and area - it does not need need two separate assemblies. The unicameraslism type is more econominal, so it would be more benefical for the country. In the opinion of opponents of change, changing the system would result in a lack of diversity in power. Minorities may be disadvantaged, such as Flírsk-speaking part of the country. Before the referendum, there was an upper and lower house, named Esenan and Ysenan, in the country.
With 2 477 546 votes and 74,65% the option YES has won. When the next parliamentary elections are held, which is expected later this year, the system will switch from bicameralist to unicameralism. The new Parliemë y Søher, which was a common name for upper and lower house before, will consist of 105 seats. Including 2 places are reserved for Flírskmastoan, 1 seats for Evämaan, 1 seat for diaspora and 2 seats for other countries minorities. Parliamë's seat allocation system will be changed.

The second question in the referendum was about mandatory voting. Due to some of authorities, compulsory voting will increase turnout, which will reduce money spent on politician campaigns. It is said democracy is a right but also an responisibility, everybody should have their own opinion and be part of democracy. Others think new law can violate personal freedom and rights. They also believe mandatory voting can decrease interest in issues.
With 2 072 515 votes and 62,66% the option YES has won. That is, in the parliamentary elections to be held later this year, (nearly) every citizen will have to vote. People who cannot vote for religious and other reasons have the opportunity to justify themselves (thus not to vote) before the elections. It will be possible to leave the ballot paper blank, and the "other" option will also be available. The penalty for not voting will be fine - from 50 to even 500 Mekän (MK), but it will be possible to appeal. The government hopes that thanks to the change, the awareness of society will increase and civic activity will increase.

The third question in referendum was about joining the Association of Southern Serica. Supporters of the idea argue union creates a sense of unity in the region. It will open new opportunities such as new work places. There are no ongoing conflicts in the union either. Others believe that the cultures of the South Serica countries are too different from culture of Suuher region. Communication problems can arise because countries do not use the same language. The opposition fears that the association may take too much control over the exports and internal affairs of the Republic of Suuher.
With 2 282 592 votes and 68,43% the option YES has won. This means that the authority will officially submit an application for admission to the Association of Southern Serica and will be awaiting positive consideration. At the moment, the state is looking forward to entering the ASS and successful cooperation. The government is pleased with the positive reception of the referendum by citizens. It is also necessary to mention the recent laws that the government took on its own. From the next election, only Suuher citizens will be able to vote. Before, citizens of Flírskmasto with proven Suuherian origin and foreigners living in the country for 3 years also had the opportunity to vote.  Evämaan language has become one of the national languages, recognized as a regional language. The age of consent, after long talks and incidents, was reduced to the age of 16. Abortion is legal under any circumstances and partly founded by the state. Identity change for transgender people process does not require surgery or hormone replacement therapy anymore. Authority also decided that they will support the development of transport system in all over Suuher, focusing mostly on train roads in the country. The Republic of Suuher is doing its best to make everyone in the country feel like at home. Slay!I inspire a little from Luiri lattest post here, ty!

Alþingi dissolved, fresh elections called for 30th July 2022.
As a result of a scandal where 3 party members were dismissed for "disgraceful" behaviour, the coalition drops below 52 seats needed to keep a majority.
Taoiseach Sinéad Kýosdóttir has announced that she has consulted with the president of Dýria, Ingibjörg Egilsdóttir, to dissolve the Alþingi, effective immediately.
During the week, 3 members of one of the ruling parties, the Dýrian Democratic Party (DDP), were arrested for unruly behaviour outside of a bar on Sráid na Saoirse in Dyflinnjaborg. The Taoiseach was informed about this on the morning of the 7th of July, and, not wanting to face immense criticism or scrutiny from her fellow party members, immediately suspended the 3 TDs from their positions. She stated that:
Under no circumstances will I allow members of my party to behave in a way that directly threatens public safety, even if it means that the coalition is about to collapse. I do not want association with these individuals for their actions, and that is why I have taken the decision to suspend them immediately.
The suspension meant that the ruling coalition of the Dýrian Democratic Party and An Comhaontas Glas (The Greens) have lost their majority within the Alþingi. They originally were barely holding on with 54 seats, but now with the recent suspension of the 3 TDs they have fallen to 51. In addition, with a call for a motion of no confidence in the Minister for Housing by the leader of Diria d'Ar Vretoned, Aziliz Le Peuc'h, the Taoiseach immediately sought dissolution of the Alþingi by the president, which she agreed to do on July 8th. Fresh elections are now being scheduled for the 30th of July, and campaigning is underway.
Despite the controversy, recent polling has the two leading parties above 20%, with the next most popular party being the People's Party, a centre-left party, followed by the 2 "interests" parties, Diria d'Ar Vretoned (Brittonic interests party) and Sjølandiskt Framtíð (Sjólandic interests party). The two far-right parties of Dýria, Dýrian National Front & Dýrian Freedom Party, are currently polling in the bottom 2.
105 seats are to be filled in the election. As speaker of the Alþingi (Ceann Comhairle), Piarás Ó Murchú of the Dýrian Democratic Party is automatically returned, which means instead of 6 seats being contested in his constituency of North Dyflinnjaborg, 5 are now left to be filled.
In addition to the general election, Dýrians are also asked to vote on potentially giving rights to Dýrians abroad to vote in general elections. Dýrians abroad are already allowed to vote in referendums and presidential elections.
A new era for the Karenoise (Kernowek) language in Dýria.
Despite the collapse of the government, the Karenoise language, known natively as Kernowek, has recently been given "special status" within Dýria. This was as a result of a proposal by the leader of the Brittonic party, Aziliz Le Peuc'h, to ensure the language has, according to her, "the bare minimum recognition" by the government. The language will not be made official as it does not have a considerable amount of native speakers to warrant this, however with the language being given special status, it does mean that services on the Karenoise populated islands of Inizi Kerneveuriadezed must be offered in the Karenoise language. The Alþingi voted unanimously for this proposal in June, with 100-5 votes in favour. It was only passed recently before the collapse of the government.
In addition, the Brittonic language organization, Ofis Publik ar Brezhoneg, has announced that they will continue promoting the usage of Karenoise, and has already designed a bilingual course where students can learn the language through the medium of Brittonic, due to their similarities. The organization is now hoping to expand and offer courses in other languages, with Everish being their main goal to reach by the end of 2022.

TERRITORIAL ELECTIONS IN THE LAKADAMIAN FEDERATION: ROUND 1
From June to November 2022, all eligible Lakadamian voters are called to go elect the 2782 territorial representatives, spanning from 40 to 212 depending of the territory. All elections are based on a certain amount of representative for each territories, divided by the regions of said territory, solely based on the population.
The first step of those territorial elections:  Appleplains,  Moshie,  Azurîles and  Zuétanie.
APPLEPLAINS
The Latinican majority speaking territory of Appleplains, is usually the very first to open those elections, having done so for the previous 9 territorial elections. The territory is also reputed to be a very conservatism one, having been known as a bastion for the Parti Républicain Lakadamie (PRL) for 42 years, either as the sole party, or within a coalition.
Between 2019 and 2022, this was the represented parties within the Appleplains Parliamento:
The results of the elections, that were held on the 12 June 2022:
As a shocking result, the right-wing coalition between the PRL and IDA was defeated, having received 25% of the votes, they however remain as a strong opposition, as the left-wing coalition of the Parti Socialiste Lakadamian, Les Verts and the Front De Gauche, have confirmed to create a coalition with the local party Partido Appleplains, to lead a majority government in the territory. In another news, Front de Gauche, Alternative Lakadamie and the Parti Chrétien Démocrate does make their entrance into the local parliament, a first for all 3 parties.
MOSHIE
The 27th and newest territory of the Lakadamian Federation, formerly a part of Iciya, also held their elections, this time on the 19 June 2022. Before that, 30 seats out of 114 were allocated to them on the Iciyan Parlement. Now they will have 56 Seats. For the 12 previous years, the territory has mostly in majority sent representative from the local party Alliance Moshie (ALMO), a local party which was advocating for a Moshian secession from within Iciya. The party has since retransformed themselves as a union to represent the Moshian rights.
Within the Iciyan parliament, the Moshians were represented like that:

The Parti Socialiste recieved a strong support, but was closely followed by the Parti Libéral Lakadamian, as Moshie can be considered as part of the "Lakadamian Liberal East", including territories like Iciya, Shisaka, Victorya and Orlao. The Alliance Moshie received 9 seats, and confirmed they would support whichever party decides to form the government, as they said "We are here for the Moshians, whoever has the best plans for them, will get our support". However, it is a first within the Lakadamian Federation that no right-wing party are getting a representation.
AZURÎLES
The third and final party voting in June, on the 26th to be exact, was the archipelago of the Azurîles, a group of 7 archipelago east of the Nouvelle Alkyrie. The Azurîles, in terms of local election, usually prefer the local parties, the Conseil Azurîles, divided into 3 groups, to represent the 3 archipelago best. However, they are also a strong support for the Green party, as Les Verts / Èn Garaènn usually gain one of their big scores at a national level there.

As expected, the 3 local parties of the Conseil Azurîles gathered nearly 38% of the votes and 25 out of 52 seats, enough to claim themselves as a minority government, while Les Verts / Èn Garaènn achieved 21.76% of the votes, and 14 seats, and have confirmed that they will support the minority government, aswell as the Parti Socialiste. The Parti Républicain fell hard, as they went from 20 to 3 seats, and from 19% to 7.6% of the votes, continuing a trend that started nationwide at the start of 2021.
ZUÉTANIE
The final elections that were held as of now are the southernmost archipelago of Zuétanie. The Zuétanian are mostly considered on having a farther extreme point of view on politics, as with 2019, they led the Front De Gauche to win with 30% of the votes and 20/58 seats overall, they used their power to form a government with Les Verts / Èn Garaènn. Zuétanie is also one of the few territories that left the minority & language interest party of Moko Lakadamiya, as part of their parliament.

Unsurprisingly, the Front de Gauche managed to gather more votes and seats on their own, with 36% of the votes and 24 Seats. They are followed by their ally in the parliament Les Verts, with 18% of the votes, and 11 seats, giving the availability for both parties to continue their coalition, this time with a majority. The coalition party is followed up by the Parti Communiste Lakadamian, doing their grand return in a local and the Zuétanian parliament for the first time since 2013, with 11% of the votes and 6 seats. With a similar score, the Parti Socialiste achieved 5 seats. To note the progression of Moko Lakadamiya, with also 5 Seats. Alternative Lakadamie and the feminist party Elles! makes their first entrance in the Zuétanian parliament. For the rest of the result, once more, the Parti Républicain fell hard, losing all of their 11 seats and nearly all of their votes.

Following yesterday's referendum regarding the official language of Ermy, a new official language has been adopted. The public was given 2 options on the ballot.
1. No change to the official language. (Russian)
2. Serbian as the new official language.
About 75% (76,7%) voted in support of Serbian being the new official language while just 13,9% favoured Russian. 9,4% were blank/invalid. More than 70% of registered voters casted ballots, considerably more than in previous elections and referendums. Long lines were seen at many precincts both in Ermy and abroad. Streets are saying that the referendum happened so Siuzanna (Ermy #25, Ermy #26) won't be eligible to represent Ermy in the upcoming editions of the Fantasia Contest!
