DAY 4
Sylvan and Scandavia arrived in Polushay to commence Day 4 of the group stage for the 2019 FANA World Cup. Both teams were in high spirits before the game and were hoping for the end results to be in their favour. The game certainly started off well, with several attack made by both sides - a thriller for many viewers. However, they both challenged each-over with similar styles, which made the game balanced. This was seen as half time came and the score was 0-0. In the 46th minute, straight after the whistle had blown for the second half, Scandavia made an urgent attack which caught Sylvan off guard . They then saw this as one of many few opportunities to obtain the 3 points against Sylvan , and scored in style by their captain booting it through the goalies legs. At the end of the match it was 1-0 to Scandavia - they left with joy , sadly for Sylvan it mean that they didn’t get anything from it .

It was then time to complete the first round of matches in Group D, where Sirenforest faced Evergreen. This match was proved as a shock to many as Evergreen’s sloppy mistakes gave Sirenforest an advantage - which they certainly took. The first goal came from Evergreen! But sadly in the wrong net - as their own goal benefitted Sirenforest which made it 1-0 by half time. Evergreens errors carried over with them to the second half where Sirenforest was able to counter and pounded the ball into the goal from outside the penalty area. The match finished at 2-0 to Sirenforest , many fans cheering from the stadium in Mashgaikhaltai - but also, many boos from Evergreen fans.

Namimori played Lakadamia in the capital today, on a very humid night. This could’ve effected the teams drive as many intervals were created to drink and keep hydrated through the match. Lakadamia was sure the favourite tonight and did not disappoint with attempts coming from all directions - but it wasn’t enough to surpass the outstanding quality of the Namimori Goal Keeper. The one sided match ended in a stalemate 0-0, a lucky escape for Namimori , yet a big defeat for Lakadamia as they surely will be kicking themselves this evening. Things do not get easier for Lakadamia as they will face Scandavia next. Namimori could benefit from their point so far as they face Sylvan, this could give them a chance to scare the other teams ...
