DAY 20
The final match of the semis came from Stadözh Giina yet again, in the heart of Wedse where runners up of the 2018 FANA World Cup Aquia faced Llort for the chance to complete for the trophy in the 2019 FANA World Cup Final.
The match started and Aquia brought the music again tonight - it was certainly a party inside the stadium , both fans and players were in good spirits. The first half brought much tension as neither side conceived any goals , it was only a penalty for Llort that could’ve set the match at half time , but was sadly saved by the Aquian goalie. The possession stood at a mere 51%/49% to Aquia, so by half time people were speculative to who would advance. The bookies only supported Aquia due tot the fact that they made it to the finals in the last tournament.
The second half started and instantly it felt as if Aquia remembered the success they had last year, and they all came together as a team to try to get the final yet again. This proved to outdo Llort as possession started to tilt more towards Aquia. Llort gave Aquia a free kick at the half way line in the 68th minute, which was successfully put into the goal from a header by the Aquian mid-fielder after the kick was taken! This put Aquia in the lead and there was no going back from there - Aquia made sure that Llort didn’t create any chances. The full time whistle blew and it was Aquia who will be competing against Lidonia tomorrow in Stadözh Giina for the 2019 FANA World Cup trophy! Llort were very close , yet so far away from making it to the final - they will compete for 3rd place against hosts Wedse tomorrow in Bkhö!
So, will it be Lidonia or Aquia who will win the 2019 FANA World Cup? Tomorrow we will find out ...

FINAL DAY
Today, was the last day of matches at the 2019 FANA World Cup in Wedse, the whole of Fantasia we’re anticipating the Final between Lidonia and Aquia, but first came the match that would decide who would be 3rd and 4th place in the ranking: Hosts Wedse faced Llort.
The mood was of course a little glum as neither team was aiming for the trophy and world title anymore - regardless they had to compete for the 3rd place medals! Wedse was the first to score in the 4th minute, the cheered with a glimpse of enthusiasm. It was Wedse’s dream to host the World Cup so what better way to finish the competition with a win. This was very wrong and in a matter of minutes Llort replied with a further two goals from corners, making the score 2-1 to Llort by half time.
In the second half it was all about Llort - they claimed the majority of possession and also snatched another goal in from a penalty in the 83rd minute. There was no way the hosts were going to win the match, but at the end they still seemed pleased to be in the top 4. It was full time: Wedse took 4th position and Llort gets 3rd place! Both countries were happy as it was their best results at the competition. Their journey has come to an end and will have to wait until next year to see if they can do just as well...
————————————————
It was time for the most awaited match of the 22 days of the tournament: the final had arrived and in the 90 minutes: either Lidonia or Aquia would be crowned the championship of Fantasia in football. All came down to this - Aquia , last years runner up, were so close to a win last year and eagerly wanted the trophy tonight. Lidonia also came 4th last year and will get their best result tonight regardless of if they win or not!
The match started in Stadözh Giina, the crowd screaming with joy and music , all outside the arena and downtown Wedse Capital were celebrating the last match of the 2019 FANA World Cup. Aquia took dominance in the opening minutes and showed why they should be the winner - the speed of their players instantly gave them an advantage to outrun every player from Lidonia. A free kick just outside the penalty area was awarded to Aquia following an illegal slide tackle made by the Lidonia defence. The captain of Aquia didn’t waste any time and booted the ball which deflected off of the goalie into the net at an angle - which gave Aquia the lead that they’ve been dreaming of for years ! This goal sent the whole arena into loud chants of “Aquia” , along with fireworks being set outside the stadium. However things weren’t set in stone yet, as half time approached , a Lidonia counter attacked the corner kick from the opposite side and curved the ball into the top left corner of the goal which made the score back to a draw of 1-1!
Half time came with discomfort from Aquian fans as they started to believe that their country was going to have to settle for second place again. This contrasted tot the Lidonian fans who now claimed that they were going to win. The second half came, and in the 46th minute (1 minute after the whistle blew for the second half) Aquia headed the ball into the goal with such speed not even the goalie had time to react. Fans were back up on their feet celebrating as Aquia gained the lead again. Not much happened in the next minutes of the Final , just a lot of defence from Aquia who used their speed against a Lidonia. The bookies favoured Aquia now, and all seemed realistic: The full time whistle blew - Aquia are the winner of the 2019 FANA World Cup ! Fans from Aquia flooded the pitch to see their team finally win the World Cup, they could not believe it! The players were crying and dancing around : which could also be seen in their fans. They then took to the stage where they received their trophy: and we’re officially crowned the winners of the World Cup ! Commiserations to Lidonia who had to get their silver medals - but played with true greatness all the way through the competition. But we focus on Aquia who will certainly be celebrating at home tonight.
So the 2019 FANA World Cup has come to an end tonight, fireworks in Aquian colours were launched in the Capital of Wedse, as the Prime Minister, Mudal Fodusim, congratulated the team for winning - he stated “Wedse have loved hosting the World Cup this year - its a great honour for us to have organised this world class event and wish the 2020 World Cup hosts good luck ! The people of Wedse will remember the last 22 days for the rest of their lives and I’m proud of our team for coming 4th place ! Aquia have shown their passion for football and deserve the trophy! Thank you Fantasia for following the contest and see you the next time Wedse hosts an event...”
