DAY 6
The first match of day 6 came from Flírskmasto taking to the pitch against Qasentria in Stadözh Giina. The odds of this match were certainly favouring Flírskmasto and they didn’t disappoint - with a stunning 6-0 win over Qasentria. Flírskmasto dominated possession, which left little time on the ball for Qasentria. Flírskmasto we’re treating this match like a training game, trying to save their energy for the upcoming matches. Despite this, they still managed to acquire a huge margin of 6 goals on their records, along with the 3 points and a clean sheet. This team couldn’t of had a better start to their World Cup journey. Sadly for Qasentria, it’s a very poor start.
Flírskmasto face Prunia, World Cup winners, next - a more challenging game that will test their football skills much more than this match. Qasentria’s matches do not get any easier - as they face last years World Cup host Levalle in Polushay.
————————————————
It was time to finish of the first matches of Group G, where Vacansa faced United Lands of Jarea. Yet again, a very one sided match from Jarea, proving they have the quality for the knockouts. All their four goals were scored in the first half, as they decided to take things easy in the second. However this contradicted itself with the Jarean strikers messing about with the ball at the back of the pitch and led to Vacansa snatching the ball creating a goal for themselves. An embarrassing second half for Jarea - regardless they still took the win and a decent goal margin of 3 . The final score was Vacansa 1-4 UL Jarea.
Jarea is at the top of group G for now, they take on Zylofonija next. Vacansa is at the bottom now, and take on 4th place in the 2018 World Cup Lidonia - as they hope to gain something on their debut tournament.
————————————————
The last game of the first round of matches came from humid Muta, where Prunia faced last years hosts - Levalle. A solid game tonight, each definitely making their mark on the contest to fear the other teams in their group. Prunia got their first goal from a strike center-goal in the 23rd minute. Levalle certainly didn’t feel worried about this - rather they felt even more determined, which continued into the second half where they scored from a fast paced counter attack. There was a huge amount of respect in the arena from fans and players. The full time whistle blew, and it was a bitter-sweet ending in Muta, as the last match ended in a draw 1-1.
Prunia face Flírskmasto next as they aim to gain the full 3 points in order for them to qualify for the next round. Levalle have an easier route for now - by taking on Qasentria.

Reaction of Prunian coach Noah Sierras« The first match of a tournament is never straightforward for any team. [...] Not all my players are in their best shape after the tiring first half of the 2019-20 season at club level, but the team prepared for the match with utmost seriousness. [...] We knew that the Levallese team had qualities, they demonstrated them last year. Even though this first result is not the one we hoped for, we can't call it disastrous. »

DAY 7
Hosts Wedse faced Torlova in the second round of the group stages this evening in the Capital. A competitive match as both teams won their first matches - Wedsen fans anticipated another win for the country and they managed to achieve this , with the score being 2-1. Wedse scored the opening goals from corner kicks, the hosts were certainly ecstatic from this as they knew that they could win this match , the only scare was from the third goal of the match from Torlova.
An amazing journey for the hosts so far in this World Cup , claiming 6 points in total. Torlova can easily qualify still , by winning their next match or drawing (and if Dyria looses their next match).
————————————————
Dyria took to the field with Trivania in Zaxat Akhena, Wedse Capital. Dyria needed to win this match to have a good chance at staying in the competition - and did that with style over a 2-0 victory. A penalty was awarded which gave them the initial lead, and a second goal from a free kick in the closing minutes. Fans were stunned at Dyria as they knew that their World Cup journey was not over just yet - they face Torlova in their final group stage match - both teams are tying with 3 points at the moment so a win for Dyria is crucial. Trivania can still potentially qualify if Torlova and Dyria loose their next matches and their goal difference is big enough - but this seems quite limited .
————————————————
It was time for Group B’s second round of matches, Yster faced Moly-Boronia. The Moly-Boronians has full control over this game, with the score being 0-3 in their favour at half time. Many fans from Yster started to leave Stadözh Anaxat at this point - which they will regret as after half time, Yster made history by scoring their first ever World Cup Goal by an error in Moly-Boronian defence. This was enough to make the fans dancing - as it seemed they took just a goal as a victory. However this didn’t change the fact that they will not be advancing to the Knockouts and sadly, their World Cup dreams came to an end. The final score in Polushay ended up 1-3, and Moly-Boronia is still in the running to qualify, all they need to do is draw their next match to make it to the knockouts. ————————————————
Aquia faced Drevona in an action packed match in Polushay, were the final score ended up as a mere 1-0 to Aquia. The possession of the ball was 50% to each team, and they also made decent attempts on both ends of the field. The only trouble was these attempts did not surpass the excellent quality of Aquia and Drevona’s Goal Keepers. Finally in the 86th minute, Aquia scored by a long shot outside the penalty box by their captain. The fans were certainly the loudest bunch at the World Cup so far - proving how much it meant to the Aquian population to qualify. Drevona is not out of the World Cup yet, they will need to beat Yster and have a huge goal margin if they want to pass Moly-Boronia - Aquia has already done enough which means they have qualified for the Knockouts ! Their position could still alter in the group, but will be no lower than 2nd position , congratulations Aquia!

DAY 8
Match Day 8 kicked off with Group C, where Kazkya faced Corzazjan in a thrilling match at Zaxat Akhena, Wedse Capital. Kazkya needed to win this match in order to stay in the competition, and have a chance to get to the knockouts. The Fans of Corzazjan were took to a shock when two goals were scored in a mere 4 minutes in the opening half of the match by two defenders from Kazkya. Of course , fans from Kazkya were astonished with this as their dreams of making it to the round of 16 , started to look realistic. However, this did not last long as by half time , Kazkya were punished with two goals from Corzazjan which lead to the score being 2-2. Both managers seemed content at this point, as neither side were loosing yet. But as second half came, a penalty was awarded to Corzazjan after a Kazkya striker caused a fight with a Corzazjan midfielder. The penalty was took in style and by then , the full time whistle blew, and the score was 2-3 to Corzazjan: Kazkya can no longer qualify to the knockouts, Corzazjan still have a good chance at making it.
————————————————
Meanwhile, it was time for the 2018 FANA World Cup Winners, to face the 2017 FANA World Cup Winer: Niolskiaj v US Eldance. In a extremely competitive match, it was hard to judge who would come out victorious. Both teams had immaculate defence which created little opportunities to have a strike at goal. Niolskiaj could have easily won 2-0 with two amazing attempts, but were just cut short by one hitting the bar, and the other being kicked out by the goalie. This historic match ended up as a stale 0-0, neither team left disappointed as they knew it would be a tough game, so at lease the both walked away with one point each. Both Niolskiaj and US Eldance have 4 points - a slight edge to Corzazjan who has 3. Qualification to the knockouts could be a reality - but anything can change in the last round of matches. For now, both teams are still vunerable.
————————————————
It was time for Group D’s second round of matches, Sincuerello faced Sirenforest. Odds predicted a win for Sirenforest, but this certainly was not the case. Commentators from all over Fantasia commented on how ‘off’ Sirenforest looked in comparison to their opening game - Sincuerello looked like they were in a different league. The first goal happened swiftly by a one v one chase from a counter attack, it was easily put it as the goal keeper didn’t seem aware of the situation. Just after this, the second goal came from a corner kick. As second half started Sirenforest seemed to have had a wake up call from the two goals - and began playing like how they usually play. However, the damage was already done and fans didn’t have hope for their country, as they started to leave the stadium. If Sirenforest won this match, they would have qualified for the knockout stage. Sadly they will have to wait till 17th December, when they face Fordia, to find out their fate. Sincuerello fans were delighted with this result, as they move into 2nd position in the group.
————————————————
Fordia played Evergreen in Stadözh Munadse, Wedse (Capital). Evergreen came into this match with a lot of confidence, which was seen when their striker gave their country their first goal of the 2019 tournament. However, this seemed to drive Fordia even more, as their reputation was on the line. By second half, a red card was shown to Evergreens defender, as he bit the Fordian Goal Keeper in a battle whilst a corner was taking place. Fordia scores, meaning the score was 1-1, which settled the atmosphere to an extent. Full time resulted in masses of boos from the crowd. Evergreens chances of qualifying are slim, but not impossible thanks to the draw with Fordia. Fordia will have to win their next game, or draw and either Sincuerello of Sirenforest also draw/lose, to qualify for the knockouts.

DAY 9
Match Day 9 began with Group E, where Sylvan competed against Namimori in Zaxat Akhena, Wedse Capital. Namimori took a strong win over their opponents, by their captain taking all the glory, by scoring a hat-trick in the 32nd, 34th and 78th minutes. Sylvan did not get to take any points away from this match - which unfortunately puts their World Cup dreams away for another year , as they are now eliminated. Namimori is at the top of the group so far, but still is vulnerable as 3 countries are fighting for 2 spots in the group to qualify for the knockouts. They will have to wait until round 3 for their fate to be known...
————————————————
A couple of miles down the road, we find Scandavia and Lakadamia taking to the pitch. Lakadamia needed to win this to be at the top of the group and strengthen their qualification chances. The score rebounded a few times, as each nation kept scoring after the other. By half time it was 2-2, a very stale second half could’ve easily seen a country take the 3 points - but the effort didn’t seem to be there. At full time , Scandavia and Lakadamia had to settle for a point each. This meant that Scandavia was downgraded to 2nd position by Namimori having a bigger goal difference. Lakadamia has drawn both of their games - qualification is not ruled out , but they must win their next game and hope for a draw/loss for either Scandavia or Namimori to have a chance.
————————————————
It was time for Group F’s second round of matches, Llort faced Frootania in a one sided match. From the opening minutes, right until the end of the second half, Llort claimed the most goals - a stunning 4-0 victory. Frootania were punished as Llort were basically running circles around them, with around 78% of possession being Llort’s. Two corner kick goals, one penalty and a counter goal later - Fans of Llort celebrated in Muta as they successfully qualified for the knockouts! Frootania however are now dead last in the group based on goal difference - they can still qualify if they win their next match and the other two teams either draw or loose. Round 3 is already building up to be an exciting few days of football - as this is when Frootania will know if they’ve done enough to get to the last 16...
————————————————
Hwaesonna played Ninelie in the mountainous city of Mashgaikhaltai. They only just managed to win over a narrow 1-0 result. This was all thanks to their left wing who headed the ball into the back of the goal. A win for Hwaesonna was crucial if they wished to compete any further - and luckily for them they claimed the 3 points. Fans from Ninelie were bitter as they all believed that the goal was offside and should’ve been checked thoroughly- this was not the case which sparked controversy after the full time whistle. Nevertheless, Ninelie can still qualify for the knockouts if Hwaesonna looses their next match and Frootania either draws or looses - it will certainly be a battle to see who will place higher in the group. Hwaesonna will compete against Frootania next - and Ninelie will take on current leader Llort.
