 Armenian entry revealed
ArmeniaTV is proud to present the next song to represent Armenia in NorthVision Song Contest. The winner was decided in some extremely tight voting where 5 different songs lead at different times.
We will be represented by  Mariam Araqelyan who will sing the Russian-language song "Loz'Iznutri"
We wish her the best of luck in improving our admittedly mixed Northvision journey so far

Suprising press conference in the TNV headquarters in Istanbul, Turkey!
Just recently, the Turkish broadcaster TNV hold a press conference regarding the latest developements about the Turkish entry and participation at the upcoming North Vision Song Contest. TNV, the Turkish broadcaster confirmed its participation at the upcoming contest last month and revealed that the Turkish entry would be chosen via Turkish Popstar. After negotiations with music experts and the board of directors, the concept of the national final had to be cancelled. Instead TNV chose its entry internally! Mr. Kerem, Head of Delegation of Turkey announced during the press conference: "We had long discussions in the TNV headquarters, the national final wasn't well established and didn't stick to the program for several organisational reasons. Therefore we decided to search our entry internally, together with many big names in the Turkish industry." TNV also proudly announced its representative at the forthcoming North Vision Song Contest. "Mabel Matiz will represent Turkey at the forthcoming North Vision Song Contest! Both our music experts and our broadcaster were sure that Mabel is the one who can represent our country perfectly. He has a very established and successful career in Turkey, his videos have millions of views and he already won many established awards in Turkey. He's mostly known for his unique music style and also known as a LGBT activist in Turkey. The song with which Mabel will represent Turkey is "Mendilimde Kirmizim Var"(I have the red colour on my hankey). He will be joined by the vocalist Sibel Gürsoy.", Mr. Kerem told.  Valdimar to represent Iceland!
In a surprise announcement this morning, RÚV has revealed that Valdimar would be representing Iceland in the 28th edition of the competition which will be held in  Bern, Switzerland. This comes after many weeks of silence from the Icelandic broadcaster, with no news regarding who would be representing the Nordic nation in the upcoming edition. Last edition, Himbrimi managed to place 18th and this has continued to boost public interest in the contest.
Valdimar is an Icelandic indie pop band that was founded in 2009 by Valdimar Guðmundsson and Ásgeir Aðalsteinsson. As of 2019, the group now has 6 members, with Guðlaugur Guðmundsson, Þorvaldur Halldórsson, Kristinn Evertsson and Högni Þorsteinsson joining as well.
The group released their first album, Undraland in 2010, which was a success in Iceland, and one of the hits from this album, Yfirgefinn, went on to be a successful hit in Iceland in 2011. Their next album, Um stund, was also a success, and it was nominated for album of the year at the Icelandic Music Awards. They followed up by releasing Batnar útsýnið in 2014 and Sitt sýnist hverjum in 2018.
When asked how they felt about being the next Icelandic representatives, Valdimar Guðmundsson told RÚV that:
It was such a surprise that came out of nowhere - we never thought we would be chosen to be the next Icelandic representatives and we are proud to represent our country on the big stage. I can say on behalf of the group that we are looking forward to performing for Europe in Switzerland and we will try our best to keep Iceland in the final, however just to be here is a win already.

This will be the sixth time that Iceland will perform in Icelandic, the latest attempt being in the 26th edition where GDRN and Floni represented the country with Lætur mig, which unfortunately managed to bring Iceland to the pre-qualification round since it placed 17th. The highest placing an Icelandic language entry has placed was 8th in the 17th edition, when Alda sang Rauða nótt, when the contest was also held in Switzerland.
