RITA DAKOTA RETURNS FOR BELARUS!

BTRC can announce that

Rita Dakota will represent

Belarus in the upcoming 28th edition of the North Vision Song Contest in

Bern.

Margarita Gerasimovich – or as she's commonly known – Rita Dakota was born in

Minsk, Belarus on March 9, 1990, making her 29 years old. She represented her country back in the 22nd edition with the song "Polcheloveka" which managed to place 11th in the final, the best result for Belarus in the competition since their debut. She will be the 4th artist to represent Belarus twice, after Dmitry Koldun (#01 and #03), Natalia Podolskaya (#13 and #25) and Nuteki (#02 and #11).

Rita will represent

Belarus with her song called "Kto" (Кто), which translates to "Who" in English. The song is performed in Russian, just like her first entry in the competition.

Skiing up north to Switzerland!

After Betta Lemme's spectacular second place finish in Odessa, RAI are again in a position of an automatic qualification. Yesterday, 27 April 2019, a teaser was released with several hints, showing several pieces of text over a video of Maruv - Siren Song.

ANDREA DI GIOVANNI - BANG

Andrea di Giovanni is an LBGTQ singer-songwriter that was born in either Rome or Palermo in 1978. Whilst their discography mostly consists of English songs, they also speaks Spanish, alongside his native Italian.

In recent years, di Giovanni has moved to London, UK, and has amassed 7.000 followers on his Instagram. Being self-described as a "queer musician" and "bop machine",

Andrea is a familiar face to the Northvision community, having represented neighbouring San Marino in the twenty-seventh edition with their song "Got To Blame", failing to make it out of the Semi-Finals.

"Bang" is a "sickening unapologetic club BANGER" about freedom of expression, unlike anything else in his repetoire. The song is much more uptempo, taking influences from "Siren Song", "Taki Taki", "Toy Netta" and "Play" (Betta Lemme). The song is electronicamp and club ready, ready for you all to slut-drop live on the Swiss floor. The synths and dance influences find their way to you through the song.

The song was written by Andrea Di Giovanni, Tylr Rydr (July Jones) and Arion Haze.

Di Giovanni has stated that "'Bang' is an empowering anthem about self confidence and not feeling sorry about it", furthering that with:

"At times I feel like we seek external validation, shame makes us feel like we need to have permission to be our true selves. To that I say: 'do whatever you want with a BANG!' Life's too short to care, own whoever you are and want to be, feel your oats, strut down the streets with confidence – it’s such a good feeling and a contagious vibe."

The song is entirely in English.

RAI are hopeful and optimistic that the community is able to accept and love this different bringing from RAI. Also, Betta Lemme did not submit her song to RAI before the deadline, so therefore, she didn't get to go.
