Rony Rex to represent Finland with New Ro!
YLE announced today during a news broadcast that Rony Rex will represent Finland in the upcoming edition of North Vision Song Contest together with New Ro. Rony Rex (real name Rony Vartio) is a DJ and one of the hosts in a radio show called "Uuden klubimusiikin vaihtoehto" (Alternative to new club music) which is aired on YLE's radio channel - YLEX. New Ro (real name Ronja Richardsdotter Stanley) might be familiar for some of the NVSC fans as she participated in SMK #23 as Ronya with the song " Great Escape". She is also known for the song " Hyperventilating". Rony Rex and New Ro will compete in the Pre-Qualification Round at August with the song " Mona Lisa". "Mona Lisa represents the message of intersectional feminism. The purpose is to empower everyone, regardless of their skin color, body type or gender. Anyone can be the Mona Lisa! The music video and the song also deals strongly with consent and the right to decide on their own body" said New Ro at Rumba. You can listen Mona Lisa below.  ► Andorra confirms participation in NVSC #29 ◄Given initial financial problems, the confirmation of the country has been delayed until the last moment. However, the new top 5 placement and the current first place in the Ranking of Nations have made the participation possible!
RTVA has contacted several andorran acts to represent the country in order to find the best entry possible for the contest. Rumour has it that an   andorran-canadian act has been shortlisted for the final decision. Will Céline Dion be back to represent Andorra?

 LITHUANIA TO BE PRESENT!Following an update from the entry production team, it's been confirmed by LRT today that Lithuania will bepresent at the North Vision Song Contest #29.
The broadcaster is yet to reveal their chosen selection format with more information regarding the process being expected to be released soon.

TBILISI, JULY 21.
It has been reported today that Georgian Public Broadcasting (GPB) have confirmed Georgia's participation at the 29th North Vision Song Contest in Ireland, making them the latest country who will be participating taking the official tally to 52.
The past few editions at the contest have gone relatively well for the Caucasus country with Georgia qualifying to the final in three out of their six attempts after returning to the competition back in the 23rd edition in Stockholm.
It was also revealed that GPB were uncertain on participation in the forthcoming edition, releasing a statement that following a disappointing result in Bern they had yet to decide whether or not they would participate once again. Georgia's latest representative, Apolloe, had included his powerful message in 'Suicidea Tea' and took it to Switzerland to represent his homeland. However he failed to qualify out of Semi Final 1 - finishing on the 13th position with 119 points. The pressure is again on the national broadcaster to restore Georgia's reputation at North Vision. |

 DENMARK REVEALS THEIR ENTRY! Following the voting process that lasted about two weeks, DR has unveiled the results of Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 23. The broadcaster received votes from a total of 47 international juries, including votes from members of the Delegations, as well as the Rest of the World. The number of voters is a significant increase from last edition's 21 voters, which proved DR's decision to switch the voting system successful. The results were quite clear from the beginning, with the winner managing to gather a total of 13 perfect 5 scores, while the runner-up received 11. The song that will represent Denmark in the North Vision Song Contest 29 is... "DYSFUNCTIONAL" by FALLULAHMusic and Lyrics by Maria Apetri Maria Apetri, more commonly known as Fallulah, is a Danish singer-songwriter and musician. Following a short dancing career, she entered the music industry and released her debut album, The Black Cat Neighborhood in 2010. The album included her hit single "Out of It" and the album peaked at number three in Denmark and went on to be certified platinum. She has released two more albums, Escapism (2013) and Perfect Tense (2016). "Dysfunctional" is a song taken from Fallulah's recent EP, All My Eyes Are Open, Pt. I (2019). The song was written and composed by Fallulah herself and it is the 2nd single from the EP, following Bloodline. The accompanying music video was also directed by the artist, with the help of Jakob Melgaard Knudsen. This was Fallulah's fourth attempt in representing Denmark, following "Dried-Out Cities" (runner-up in DMGP 10), "Social Club" (3rd place in DMGP 12) and "Strange World" (7th place in DMGP 16).
