Once again VRF announced that the entry would be decided internally. After many applications, from international and native acts Vikyirie and the broadcaster decided on who to represent the nation for their fourth participation in the contest. / MIKLA  Kælan Mikla (evg: The Lady of the Cold) are a synth-punk trio based in Frooa, consisting of   Sólveig Matthildur, Margrét Rósa and Laufey Soffía. The band was formed in 2013 after winning first place in a poetry slam held by the Vikyirie City Library, and eventually went on to perform in music festivals across the country and beyond, and release 3 albums. The name of the group was originally as a joke but in the end they stuck with it. The group met through Sólveig when she went back and forth to her homelands. In the end the girls decided to form the trio, which rose to major success in both countries and other continents as well! If you look into her eyes, you freeze. She is this super feminine cold, kind of evil, mystical power. Rumour has emerged that a Glaraian return to the Fantasia Contest is not going to happen anytime soon.
According to an inside source, the broadcaster ‘has moved on from the contest’ and it is no longer considered a top priority. While the country was forced to withdraw last edition due to sanctions regarding voting complications, the general impression was that withdrawal was probably going to happen anyway.
Described as a ‘ratings juggernaut’ during its peak, the contest attracted a significant amount of media and public interest and was seen as a show of ‘high importance’ by TVG, who invested ‘a vast number of resources’ in participation. Present day, the only form of advertisement the contest seems to get is through Wendy Williams (who serves as commentator) and her daytime talk show, and the occasional news article slamming the contest. While the semifinals were traditionally screened on secondary channels and the grand final on the flagship channel, the last edition was not screened at all.
What the inside source did reveal to appease fans, however, was that the broadcaster was in talks with several record labels in an effort to gauge their interest, which may imply some sort of intention to participate. However, they also revealed that the music industry no longer sees the contest as lucrative of a platform as it used to be, some even going as far as to say the contest is ‘cursed’, as many past participants, such as Alesha Dixon, Mollie King and Fleur East abandoned their music careers after taking part.
There is also lack of interest from the public. Most of that is attributed to the evolving sound of the contest, which now is predominantly alternative. “Glaray's music taste and the entries in the contest are like apples and oranges,” one fan said. “People do not like watching the contest because none of the songs appeal to them, and it leads them to believe Glaray’s chances of doing well are very small because our entries never fit the bill.”
While it is understood that no official meeting has taken place as of yet, this seems to be the general consensus among executives who will have the final say. The source also emphasised that the broadcaster does not intend to withdraw from the contest permanently, but is merely considering taking a sabbatical.

 Pohunskia Confirms! Pohunskia after non-qualifying again is still determined to take part in the contest but will look at internally selecting an artist. An artist has already been picked out and we believe that the artist is the best choice for Pohunskia. THe HOD has stated, "we haven't had the best results from the contest but that is just part of the contest and it will just force us to try harder. We are sure that our time to win will come eventually," |

TORLOVA WILL BE PRESENT!
Despite failing to qualify to the grand final in  Egline, the  Torlovan delegation has no intention to withdraw from the contest.
The head of delegation Alper Sametler stated the following:
"(...) We're very excited to announce that our entrant for the 17th edition is already selected! After a long search for the eligible candidate to bring us back to the final, we came across a band that we feel like will achieve us a great place in the upcoming edition. (...)"
Who will be Tamino's successor? Stay tuned to find out!

Alkyria confirms!
This afternoon, the Alkyrian broadcaster has confirmed the nation's presence at the upcoming edition of Fantasia Contest.
Currently hosting this edition, Alkyria will remain where it's still and won't call the Kingdom vs. Republic format for now. Instead, as the tradition requires - Alkyria will opt for an internal selection.
