What's good about it is that Arilena was in my top 3 so her win was deserved. What's bad is that unless they can get it back together, Albania chose yet another song that people are gonna love right now but get bored of by February. I don't think there's a final

I don't know, but I personally adore the song already, and Arilena's live performance gives me goosebumps and I can see the emotions in it. I wait for a revamp which I believe would make the song more modern but still have the emotion it has right now. It will grow to a 12 very soon I am sure about it and for me it's a great start for the contest!

absolutely amazing Fun fact: Darko Dimitrov, the composer of the song, also made the arrangement for "Ostani jos"

Albania threw away their chances at a potential top 5 finish, but Shaj is a decent second choice and a solid ballad at that. Unfortunately the song isn't very instant and Arilena has better songs, so at this point in time I'm not very optimistic of its chances.

I'll wait to rate it until we find out whether it gets a revamp and/or translation

Before y'all start with the "omg you gave 1 to Arilena because you're bitter that Elvana didn't win1!1!!1!1" comments, lemme spoil you something: I didn't like Me Tana at all to begin with.
This is reminiscent to the literal Albanian formula we've been known and used to for ages: power ballad, solid vocalist, do a revamp (most likely in english) and hope for the best. I had really low hopes for Albania while listening to the selection's songs and just noticing how many are under this little formula, as if it's a wizard book saying exactly note by note how to do your recipe.
But unlike others which would do the recipe in their best way possible and try to alternate between to improvise or to do it in their own way, Albania is technically taking it word by word. We're all tired of the same thing over and over again.
Also another spoiler alert: I never liked Arilena's songs in general to begin with - and Shaj is certainly not the groundbreaker. Literally, nothing new, nothing special, and if they will revamp it in english as possibly rumoured, I'll just pretend Albania doesn't exist this year and move on with my life. Too bad since they had two fantastic songs in a row prior back.
Next.

---------------------------------------------------------
I've never been a huge fan of Arilena's discography, but I may have actually discovered my favourite of hers this week.
While it looked like a one-horse race to a certain ethnic pop banger once the songs were revealed, after the live shows, I definitely saw two more horses joining the race; Arilena and Era, and my interest for FiK grew a bit more.
Once Elvana got 2nd, I genuinely terrified whether Arilena had taken it or not, but to my satisfaction, she had taken the crown, making me a very happy Bosnian, in which Eurovision 2020 having a great start already.
While I fairly enjoyed the studio version, what capivated me the most was the live version which was performed. The costume is still a weird choice for me, but her vocals definitely boosted the song much higher live. I do also know that this won't be a feature at Eurovision, but the orchestra really made this sound so much more powerful than what it already is. Her vocals, the way she sings the song, as well as how the song is produced, all accumulate the emotion that is portrayed, and I can definitely feel it. As I've said in a specific discord server, I genuinely got Eneda Tarifa vibes from the performance, and it looked like I wasn't wrong in the end.
As mentioned, none of Arilena's discographies impressed me in any way, but Shaj definitely ticks a lot of marks for what I enjoy in a song like this. And while the rumours of her translating the song to English, I still have hope that I will still find satisfaction of the end-product.
THEIR CHANCES: I can, with certainty, say that this has the components to reach the final, and, dare I even say, potentially reach a top 10 finish? While it's way too early to predict such a high place, being the first song and all, I can still see this have enough captivation to reach the Grand Final.
Eitherways, for the third time in a row, I am very happy with Albania's choice, and I wish the very best of luck to both Albania and Arilena in Rotterdam o/

currently It is really interesting, my Top 3 during the Final was the exact same as the actual results, so I'm happy about her win. Arilena is an incredibly stunning woman (she looks like a top model ngl), and her voice is also outstanding; so overall this is definitely a great package to begin with. As we all know, Arilena has better songs than Shaj (hence I didn't give it 12 yet), but we also know that she represents quality, and I'm sure she won't be just done here. We can expect a good revamp for once (I have really high hopes), and since she originally wrote the songs in English, it might even sound more organic with the revamp, we will see. One thing is for sure, Albania has a great chance to qualify next year, they have to live with this opportunity. I really hope Elvana comes back with a much much stronger song, cause I don't feel like this was anywhere near her best, but I kinda feel like she'll get disappointed with her loss and will never come back to Festivali i Kenges. Anyway, I hope my statement is wrong and we can see her again. ^^ My honourable mention goes to queen Sara, she did absolutely amazing and she ended up in the 3rd place while being 16, she deserves all the best and I hope to see her back in the national selection soon (although Ajer will be really hard to beat).
