WEEK 1 WHAT'S YOUR BOGGART? Milk & Honey Billie Marten (2:09+)
now, you're probably wondering "chlamydia, what kind of fear could this song possibly represent?!"
but the answer couldn't be more obvious
i've had a very irrational fear of this thing from early childhood and just the sound or something resembling it can keep me up at night, and the sight of it triggers some sort of fight or flight mode within me. i can never, ever explain why i'm so afraid of this tiny little thing. which is why i think this sweet little song perfectly represents this thing i am most afraid, as you would never expect it to be such a great bringer of fear.
"All you want is honey, you can't take the sting You live for overkill, but you're ungrateful still."

WEEK 1 WHAT'S YOUR BOGGART? Spin GRETA (3:10+)
Recently I have started to realize that my biggest fear in life is not being able to let people be who they want to be or have what they want. To live with the lie that someone is happy with me or who I am when they're not. I have had endless discussions with my partner about this. I am giving my all and everything for them to feel the most comfortable but sometimes it is too much or not enough. And feeling like I am the reason someone else is not happy with their life makes this my biggest fear.
I think GRETA summarized this very well in her song "Spin" which means a lot to me for a while now.
Tell me You won’t give in on that day When will you try again? My oh my Don’t let it shake it you up Everytime If I could calm the fire That rages inside I would surely try If I could stop myself I wouldn’t run away From everything that you hide
Deep sigh A part of you needs life But you can’t breathe in You’ve gone too far and so The wheel keeps on spinning
Once again we are lost In the park of possibilities When did we grow too old To leave our kisses on the ferriswheel If I could calm the fire That rages inside I would surely try If I could stop i wouldn’t run away from you
You and I are howling at the moon You and I are swimming in the sea I always thought the truth is coming soon Tell me who do you want to be?
Deep sigh A part of you needs life But you can’t breathe in You’ve gone too far and so The wheel keeps on spinning
thanks fagni for the post layout

Mathew Horrod
Nicole Sabouné - "Nowhere to Go" 2:40+
I chose this song as I feel like it accurately depicts my biggest fear, that being loneliness. I'm scared of having absolutely no one to turn to in times of need, no one to open up to, no one to talk with about my problems.
"I want love, I want growth, so I don't drown."

Fondall Kats Episode 1 // What's Your Boggart?
AURORA // "Under the Water" 2:43+
This song perfectly embodies two of my biggest fears - both a 'physical' and a 'mental' fear, for lack of better words.
DROWNING Probably self-explanatory, I don't know of anyone who isn't scared of drowning and this is the central theme of 'Under the Water': "Under the water we can't breathe, we can't breathe" - referring to the sense of almost claustrophobia when drowning, even repeated to emphasis the dragged out process "Under the water we die" - yeah death isn't great
ISOLATION/LONELINESS A slightly less obvious fear, and one that is less prominent in the song, but Aurora uses the idea of drowning to represent isolation and loneliness (and well, you only need to look at my username to know that's something that I don't necessarily feel all the time, but it's definitely something that I would consider a substantial fear of mine). "Under the water we are alone"/ "Under the water we can't be together" - the image of dark and silent waters can represent either literal drowning or the idea that inside we feel alone and isolated (sometimes self-condemned "Then why do we jump in?").

POPPY CORN Episode 1 ~ What's your boggart? Lewis Blisset - Sick Thoughts This song is about the fear of getting in your own way and being your own downfall in the end, a fear wich I'm struggling with for a long time! I know this song could also have different meanings for other people but for me that's the message I clearly see being shown in the song. The song talks about someone who got in the way of the persons happiness and is causing him a lot of pain but for me that other person isn't just another person it is all the things you don't like about yourself and who bring you down such as insecurities and pain.
We might just be unkind But that's just how we're designed You got me so fucked up Think about you most of the time Then I think about losing my mind I wanna stop before we're caught But don't stop Don't stop Don't stop And I got things that I want But you're on top On top
On top We're psychos forever In diamonds and leather We'll never get better That's why I got these Sick thoughts, sick thoughts Sick thoughts, sick thoughts Look what you've caused You've got 'em too Wanna know what's makin' you numb Beautiful when the damage is done You know me, I won't budge I'm about to start taking what's mine Then I'll think about losing my mind I wanna stop before we're caught But don't stop Don't stop Don't stop And I got things that I want But you're on top On top On top We're psychos forever In diamonds and leather We'll never get surrender That's why I got these Sick thoughts, sick thoughts (sick thoughts) Look what you've caused (you caused) You treat me rough (me rough) You've got 'em too Sick thoughts, sick thoughts (sick thoughts) Sick thoughts, sick thoughts (sick thoughts) Look what you've caused (you caused) You've got 'em too Hour after midnight Think about you Don't know how it started Always bleeds through Feel you runnin' on my mind Creepin' up and down my spine No one thinks like you and I, I 'Cause I got these s-i-c-k thoughts, you got 'em Look at me, look what you started I'm so sick and broken-hearted, hearted Cause we got these s-i-c-k thoughts, we want 'em Look at us, look what we started I'm so sick and broken hearted Sick thoughts, sick thoughts (sick thoughts) Look what you've caused (you caused) You treat me rough (me rough) You've got 'em too Sick thoughts, sick thoughts (sick thoughts) Sick thoughts, sick thoughts (sick thoughts) Look what you've caused (you caused) You've got 'em too Sick thoughts

Kurayami 暗闇Episode 1 "What's your boggart?" I am afraid of..... snakes 蛇 Song Choice: Tsar B: Rattlesnake
Ever since I was a child, I've always feared snakes. I fear their venom and their grip. I fear that one day a snake would come through my toilet and bite my asshole. I refuse to live in warm climates due to this fear. You will not see me in Australia. Tsar B's song gives a creepy vibe and includes rattlesnake imagery. This song gives a ominous vibe and I thought it fit the challenge perfectly. (2:06-)
LyricsRattlesnake
I said you go boy, you go places my love I said I don't mind but that's a lie and you know I'd rather take the boat, kiss you on the water on the water through the water Mmmm I like nobody Mmmm Rattlesnake Mmmm I like nobody Mmmm Rattlesnake Let me bathe here Let me stay in this hot water deep water deceptive water, what are you thinking Don't walk away without fearing never ever coming back here

Pisa GarbitsLow Words2:06+ My biggest fear is criticism. I mean, it's ironic considering this song choice will ultimately be subject to criticism, but I mean it in regards to being personally criticised. This song outlines my fear completely. The lyricism likens it to being subject to a trial - "three inches above the floor, man in a box wants to burn my soul" - even though it's just someone pointing out something wrong that I have done/about myself, to me it feels like some sort of officially binding scrutiny. It almost feels like I have to come up with some answer to my flaws otherwise I face slipping down further with other people - I want to prove that I am a good person no matter what - "my hands are dry."
Subsequently it all feels overwhelming, but I have no option but to bear it - "too many words, too many words, and I can hear 'em."
The song's completely melancholic atmosphere, being a staple of the slowcore genre, reflects the bleakness of it all.
Lyrics: Three inches above the floor Man in a box wants to burn my soul And I'm tired
"Is that the truth?" he says The pain is easy Too many words, too many words
And I can hear 'em And I can hear 'em And I can hear 'em I can hear 'em And I can hear 'em
If you're hearing screams Come back child, come back My hands are dry But I know they're gonna make it just one more night Too many words, too many words
And I can hear 'em And I can hear 'em And I can hear 'em I can hear 'em And I can hear 'em
And I can hear 'em And I can hear 'em And I can hear 'em I can hear 'em And I can hear 'em

"Suspended" by Elle Watson Week 1: What's Your Boggart?
1:49+
For this week's challenge I have been asked to showed my biggest fear, defintely has to be never be loved, to stay in loneliness and never find someone for me. I have always had this feeling that I feel so lonely even when i'm sorounded by poeple, cause I feel like a liabilty. this songs talks about loving someone so much but that love is not corresponding back, to accept that she/he will never love me. Will I die alone? Also represents the kinda feeling when you feel you are not enough for anyone and you don't deserve them.
''With the feeling that we both know
You will never feel for me''
| LYRICS
[Verse 1] Light up what could be my face Won't ever let loose your way Blindfolded but I will wait for you My heart is colder each day Dreaming don't work 'cause I wake Breathe your poison 'cause what else can I do?
[Pre-Chorus] Smell of you gives me shivers But you're into something different And it's bigger than I will ever be, than I will ever be Falling but you've gripped me hard, babe Put fingers in the holes in my heart, babe Put me on the floor and I am gonna break
[Chorus] Suspend me in the air Make me spin around until I lose control Let's pretend I don't care, or know That you have fallen in love With the feeling that we both know You will never feel for me, oh no
[Verse 2] Shy away from times you've made Alibis for your mistakes Fight for it but I've been overused Cry over things I don't say I'm screaming, I'm slipping away Breathe the noise in 'cause what else can I do?
[Pre-Chorus] Smell of you gives me shivers But you're into something different And it's bigger than I will ever be, than I will ever be Falling but you've gripped me hard, babe Put fingers in the holes in my heart, babe Put me on the floor and I am gonna break
[Chorus] Let's pretend I don't care, or know That you have fallen in love With the feeling that we both know You will never feel for me Oh no, you will never
[Bridge] Light up what could be my face Won't ever let loose your way Blindfolded but I will wait for you My heart is colder each day Dreaming don't work 'cause I wake Breathe your poison 'cause what else can I do?
[Pre-Chorus] Smell of you gives me shivers But you're into something different And it's bigger than I will ever be, than I will ever be Falling but you've gripped me hard, babe Put fingers in the holes in my heart, babe Put me on the floor and I am gonna break

GENNA CIDE
"Bullets" - Archive 4:43+
My biggest fear is losing self-control and unleashing the worst parts of myself. As a flawed human being, there is always an internal rage that I have to keep contained everyday. I'm afraid that when I let go of that control and express that negativity outwards, it will affect the people that I am closest to. When that happens, I have turned into the worst version of myself and the only person that I have to blame is myself. You'll hear the lyrics "personal responsibility" a lot throughout the song, but most of the lyrics also allude to a human's potential to deliver violence. The entire song is a gradual build-up to a large burst of noise by the end.
LYRICS
Come touch me like I’m an ordinary man, have a look in my eyes, underneath my skin there is a violence, it's got a gun in it's hand,
ready to make ready to make, read' ready to make sense of anyone, anything anyone, anything anyone, anything anyone, anything anyone, anything
Black holes living in the side of your face, razor wire spinning around your around your around your around your around your around your around your (blistering sky) around your (blistering sky) around your (blistering sky)
bullets are the beauty of the blistering sky bullets are the beauty and I don’t know why bullets are the beauty of the blistering sky bullets are the beauty and I don’t know why
personal responsibility personal responsibility personal responsibility personal responsibility
Confine me let me be the lesser of a beautiful man, without the blood on his hands, come and make me a martyr come and break my feeling, with your violence with the gun on my head,
ready to take, ready to take, ready to take, ready to take out anyone, anywhere. anyone, anywhere anyone, anywhere anyone, anywhere anyone, anywhere
Black holes living in the side of your face, razor wire spinning around your, around your around your around your around your around your around your (blistering sky) around your (blistering sky) around your (blistering sky)
bullets are the beauty of the blistering sky, bullets are the beauty and I don’t know why, bullets are the beauty of the blistering sky, bullets are the beauty and I don’t know why.
