Guys, keep it together. I know it's hard and unusual. We don't know what's going to happen, but if we stay strong and positive in the hardest time, we win. Believe it or not, we are all connected and we can sense the general panic even if you don't necessarily feel it yourself. What we have to do now is the exact opposite of what is happening and swap fear with love. I know it sounds cheesy, but do things that you love, things that make you happy. Spend time with people that mean the most to you; not because everyone's going to die, because that's not happening, but because they make you happy and you make them happy. Listen to uplifting songs (I know you're tempted to listen to depressive stuff), watch movies and series that aren't about the apocalypse or any sort of doomsday, same with the books. Online contests are still here alive and well. We can organize more events (birthdays, thematic shows, movie nights) if you'd be interested. This is seemingly isolating us away from each other, but we are closer together than ever. The whole world has this problem. We're in the information age that is a blessing and a curse, it's your decision how you're going to take it. You can read about the virus all day long or spend some time chatting with someone you haven't talked to in a while. I know it seems grim, but we can make it, we will make it.

I think we need to back off the UK here, we may all have an opinion but none of us are scientist or politicians and as such have no real idea on how to best deal with this kind of situation. A decision has been made based on knowledge that people have and the seriousness of the situation. This is not the bubonic plague or Ebola, its a different stand of the flu virus. My best guess for the UK's response is because the more people that get it, their immune system will be able to fight against it and therefore if they get it again the body can fight it better. I'm not saying jump into bed with someone from the coronavirus and personally I hope I do not get it but I hope if i do my body can fight it and protect me for if were to happen again. Also, the Health service here isn't ready for a shut down of the country whereas trying to delay it until the summer where the NHS is better prepared is what the aim is, we have more staff in the summer and as such will have the doctors and nurses needed to help the people that get ill. No one is speaking about the real issue here which is how the virus came in the first place. There needs to be better laws in China about how they look after their food produce and there markets for 'exotic' animals needs to stop. The cross contamination is absolutely vile and disgusting and if China continues to not address this and if governments don't deal with this then it's not going to get better. Don't come shooting at me for my opinion but I just think we should look at the wider picture. Just wash your hands !! Oh look, this didn’t age badly at all It hasn't. Everything he has said is still very much true.

I mean when now all 2% from Corona be in the Hospitals and Good Night and see Italy! The fact is that yes, Chinese wet market standards seriously need to improve after this. Will they? Who knows. Officially speaking the UK fatality rate is about 2% but that only included confirmed cases, they are only testing the most severe though. It's likely the real fatality rate is closer to 0.2 or even less. All these lockdowns and precautions are alright but the vaccine may not be ready for another 18 months and we cannot shut the whole world economy down until then. People are going to start losing their minds if they are locked down for that long.

Update: Apparently the pandemic has become big enough for the government to delay our next elections which were originally planned to be held on 17th May. The last (and probably only) time something like that was done was in 1951.

I fully understand why Schools need to close on Friday but I am really going to miss my job and the children I work with. This announcement today has left me with more questions than answers and I have no idea if I still need to go in to work for a few children or even how long this is going to last.
I most likely leave this School at the end of this school year to go on and do teacher training and I am dreading leaving but to think Friday could now be my last day and I would not know it is for sure is really upsetting.

I hate this mandatory assisted living facility quarantine so much..... Drained from this nonsense dealing with people in this house and being terrified of treating people there like trash for 5 days next month if the quarantine stays for 1 month like the Florida governor said. This is very rough and I already snapped yesterday and it was only the second day of this... k let me stop about my feelings about it. To be frank, I expected ESC to be cancelled, but it hurt me to find that out in this situation I'm in. But I feel more for the artists who took their time to participate this year and couldn't, especially since some of them won't take part next year (referring to Little Big, which I was really excited for). I support all artists that were confirmed to take part this year, even the ones with the songs that I heavily disliked. I want them all to have great careers, whether they confirm for next year or not. Anyways, Florida has over 300 cases with 7 deaths now. Looks like this world will shatter soon.....
