We are in such a tricky world atm. Everyday feels like a roulette. Everything is changing every single day. What to do is to not panic, we stay calm and focus on the happy side to all this that we get to spend time with close family. Yes it isnt the way that we would imagine it. But at least you are with loved ones and as long as you know that they are safe and healthy then we can start to focus on fighting this disease. I found a great quote yesterday that I want to share with you all. I think some of you have already seen this. "There's no point in Consistently worrying about everything. What will happen will happen regardless. So breathe, look on the bright side, have some laughs, fall in love, accept what you can't change, and carry on. To actually live is courageous. Most people exist. That is all." A fantastic quote I came across we shouldn't be worrying and taking everything at stride. Panicking leads to worse things. I know we can all get through. Not just as a forum. But as a community of people that we all care about. I'm sending all my love to everyone on the forums and to your family and friends. Stay healthy, Stay safe and stay positive <333 Josh xoxo

Quite ironically we just heard that our next door neighbor MIGHT have corona i mean she has not been tested, but she is thinking of doing so. Some of the symptoms she has are there such as a very bad headache, a fever and that it is hard to breathe. She has not been coughing as far as we know She has a british boyfriend who just went back to UK and according to what we heard has been quarantined there (which does not necessarily mean he has the virus ofc as it is used as a precaution) If this is the case and she does indeed have it, there is just a wall between us and her that separates my family from it i won't take any chances and i am just trying to avoid it as best as i can (since i do have asthma), but if my luck is so bad that i end up getting infected then there is nothing i can do, but accept it it would just be a very ironic way of getting it But as long as it has not been confirmed officially that she has it, i won't be taking too much stress on this i mean i am still not scared of it, i am just preparing in case it happens to be true. No harm in being extra sure Also a little update on Finland We have 409 (450 on corona wiki) officially registered cases now. 10 still registered as recovered and atleast no registered deaths from the virus so far. There was an article that i read that said something like "the officials should not hide any information on how many people have infected and how many here in Finland need intensive care over the virus". Basically hinting that our officials/government might be hiding the actual number of these cases from the people to not try to cause any more hysteria which if so imo is completely the wrong thing to do. Imo they should always keep the people updated regardless of how many cases there are because atleast that way our people can avoid those places and infected people possibly the best we can. I do not believe this is true, but the article just got me thinking There is a temporary law being put in place that our border traffic is being limited, schools, libraries, etc. being shut down, no outsiders can visit hospitals and so on. So finally we are also taking action on all this so fingers crossed these cases would finally atleast slow down a bit for some reason though our nurseries are still being kept open and i do not know why if they decided to close down schools and all already i have also heard rumors of Helsinki possibly being closed down so no one could enter or leave there since we currently have the worst situation there. Imo if that happens they should do it to pretty much all cities that have any confirmed cases. I have no idea how true this is either, but i would not really be too surprised if this happens for real at some point

You know... Rumours... Here is the kind of message that circulated in France before the country got locked down. Small details changed from a version to another one but it was always basically the same bullsh...
Translation: From my friend whose husband works for French embassy in Russia - Information from SN Solidarity From Tuesday total confinement in Paris (beside absolute necessity) + curfew at 6pm and police roadblocks like in Italy. Information coming from Minister of the Interior and Army, who are getting ready. Only doctors, police, and so on, will be allowed to circulate. From a parliamentary attaché at Assemblée Nationale: Macron should announce this evening that everybody will have 48h to choose and join their confinement place (then stay there during 45 days). A total confinement law will be published at Journal Official on Tuesday (being effective on Wednesday) and police and army will be mobilised. Curfew everyday at 6pm. Information from Senate.

As suggested some pages ago, I have decided to go on with the initiative and make a place where we can share what binds us together – music, and forget about the stress.
Let us step closer instead of further apart. I hope we can make some new connections and friendships on the way.

I feel so empty and lost today. To think I might never see the children I have worked with again is horrible and seeing how upset they where yesterday as well. I just don't know what to do every little thing reminds of it all I knew I would find it hard but I didn't think it would be this bad.

I hate this virus so freaking much *sigh* First of all my classes got cancelled and i got kicked from the campus, with my personal things inside, without being able to get them back until they reopen again, i am losing all the job opportunities, all the interviews got cancelled for obvious reason and I have less time to find a job because the graduation is getting closer, Eurovision got cancelled, my favorite series got cancelled, my Erasmus internship for summer 2020 will most likely not be possible, needless to say that I should stay locked in my parents’ house, far from my friends without being able to go out. So many people die, everything is a mess, economy is down, too much panic. It’s not even about the virus itself but about how dumb some people are, who don’t understand that they should stay home and isolate themselves if they arrived from another country: instead they make parties with all their relatives, neighbors, and put whole villages and towns in quarantine, and the virus spread and so on. I was optimistic that this is going to end fast, but it doesn’t look like that. Some people are worse than animals, they need to be punished for putting in danger other’s health, but yeah no one cares.

Iceland Update: I'm not understating anything with what I'm about to say - If you want a better idea how this is truly hitting people, keep an eye on Iceland and our cases. We may be small but we are testing perhaps even more than South Korea did over the coming days and finding some incredible results from this. I feel the country truly knows what it is doing and I wish the UK here was following our example...
Currently the situation in Iceland is as follows: 473 confirmed cases, of which 453 (95.8%) are at home quarantine while only 12 (2.5%) actually are needing hospital treatment. 1 (0.2%) has died, however this was deemed to not have been because of the virus. 22 have reported fully recovered while more are likely to follow. We are also finding out that in the majority population, as many as 50% of cases may never show a symptom, and the vast majority of the remainder seem to have no more than mild cold/flu symptoms.
What does this mean? Two things really, one good, one not so good. Firstly, if our tests are proving to be the case, COVID-19 may be a milder disease than the initial reports suggest. However if this sheer number of cases are totally asymptomatic, then its no wonder this disease is spreading so quickly. Hopefully we keep up this testing and isolating strategy and maybe Iceland can avoid a full lockdown like in Spain or Italy despite our high per capita case rates.
