Oh thanks god! I also just read thst we're getting Destiny and Ana as well.
Denmark announced DMGP swill be back, Ben & Tan aren’t going to participate in it I just hope that they decided that by themselves (just like Ulrikke).
The nordics are at it again I unfortunately can't say that I was surprised by that. :/

On the national TV few minutes ago it was announced, that SAMANTA TĪNA WILL BE BACK IN 2021!!! No more details have been revealed of how it will be organized, but that's not important at this moment Finally some good news after the mess that was going on lately in the Northern Europe and other Baltics I suspect it was known already long time ago... here's a tweet from Samanta herself - The question is - did they all knew it already back then and just tried to keep it a secret until now? I don't think this was a typo... I mean it's posted just after the announcement of cancellation of Eurovision this year... The only thing about now is - it's official now, but back then we could've questioned if that's true or a joke...

I know this may sound crazy but would it be so complicated for countries to internally choose the same artist and do the NS anyway? I mean, they can say "this year's winner will not represent us in Eurovision" and then the artists choose if they want to take part or not? Looking at you Nordics, Estonia, Lithuania, Portugal and Italy.

As san remo is always run (even when italy aint participated) So italy could easily internally select diodato (which i hope happens) as for the others they could run smaller versions and pick the song but for the bigger ones like melodifestivalen will always have a problem as they will need to have a big ptize instead of eurovision and that would be hard to fill... Personally the artists who won this year shoukd be automatically in there national finals final... Eg. The mamas given the wildcard act for the final. At the very least

Looking at you Nordics, Estonia, Lithuania, Portugal and Italy. Idk imo they should have just postponed the edition (to later this year or May 2021) and kept the songs instead of throwing all of the songs in the trash can. Anyway, it's sad for the artists, but the people also chose a song in the national selections. And an internal selection with a worse song might be unsatisfying as well. This cancellation unfortunately will also ruin the ESC 2021 season at least for me.

It will definitely have a knock on effect i agree... The artists will be slammed for having similar songs or different songd.... There in the hardest position

Lesley Roy would like to return to Eurovision and said she'd be happy to write a new song for it but no official announcement has been made yet

This cancellation unfortunately will also ruin the ESC 2021 season at least for me. I wish they could've postponed it, too, but the orders for the lockdown and other related things only started coming on 2-3 months before the main event, and that is not enough time to prepare any suitable alternative competitive format. Additionally, the uncertainty of when this whole pandemic will end makes postponing very difficult to carry out. It can't be too soon far ahead as in towards next year because by then, the hype and appeal of the songs would have worn out. I am more confident that a 2021 edition will happen simply because the EBU and Dutch broadcasters will have the most time ever in ESC history to prepare and make this event happen. Also, it's inconsiderate to consider these songs as being thrown into the trash can. These songs were still treated with decency by the fans and won't be forgotten because of such an unusual circumstance. And finally, you don't have to watch next year's show if this year's circumstances is going to ruin the experience you are yet to have in the future.

I thibk what they mean was it would tsint there contest last year.... Just remember most of the ppl who vote aint die hard fans lke us and re causal viewers so They wouldnt of known the songsthis year and still probably dont. Soit would have been new for them even if the songs are a year old and most of the songs would havr been new for is with the staging etc.

I couldn't understand. It would have to be public knowledge that the songs came out in 2020, and by that point it would be inappropriate for a 2021 edition if the songs were designated to a year that has already went by. Additionally, a year is plenty of time for songs to creep into the public airwaves. Most of the songs would be played on the radio and steadily gain streams. They eventually lose their value and purpose as Eurovision entries.
