I've done finals with 40+ entrants in Philruto's contest. And he was doing that every single week, albeit without a recap video but still... It gets super tiring and tedious for players and it gets overwhelming for hosts to maintain so many participants - 30 players as the limit - Next edition first come, first served. After that the bottom 10 to be relegated with other players allowed to fill the spots in the same way - If theres short spaces at the end of the confirmation period players got relegated get reprieved in order of positioning (e.g. 21st takes the 1st spare spot, 22nd the next etc..) - Gil as contest host gets an automatic pass into each edition regardless of his result. - Possibly a top 12 (15,12,10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1) voting system could work but normal one is probably also fine As much as I'm not a fan of a results-based relegation, I think such a rotation system would be a very plausible idea at this point, at least as long as there's 40+ possible participants. Generally I find this a very good suggestion. The number of relegated countries can still be discussed of course. I guess no matter how it's done, as some people are doomed to stay out, there's no perfect solution. Perhaps a "Rest of the World jury" could be introduced where the non-participants can contribute at least by voting. Maybe the RoW voters could get a safe spot in the next edition then, could be another idea.

I've voted, as a suggestion, have you ever thought of getting a co-host, that would help take pressure of your back if you cannot enter the forums as often, either someone who works all the time with you, or a co-host that organizes the semifinals and its results, and then gives you the information so you only have to worry about the final.

VERY IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Thank you for all of your comments, encouragement and suggestions, they're all greatly appreciated
After reading all of your suggestions, analyzing several alternatives and taking into account several perspectives, this is how FoM will go from now on, so read carefully and ask now if you have any question as it may be too late if you don't, and I need you to understand this new system completely for it to work properly.
The reasons why I decided to do this and didn't pick other options are at the end of this thread, after I explain how this will work from now on.
AVERAGE RESULTS SYSTEM
The new FoM system will consist of ONE BIG GRAND FINAL with 30 participants. We will have an 'average result' score system to determine who gets a better chance to get into the edition, while those who vote as RotW (when they miss out an edition) will also have a safe spot in the next edition. - Starting with last edition, your results will be scored into an average score (for example, if you got 10th in #43 and 5th in #42, your average is 7.50). If you miss out an edition, this count will start again so that you have a better chance to get a higher average score.
- The 20 players with the highest average score after each edition AND those who voted as RotW will be able to confirm during the first day of confirmations (very similar to how NNMC works). NOTE: Being in this top 20 and voting as RotW doesn't automatically guarantee you a safe spot, YOU STILL HAVE TO CONFIRM during this day. In other words, those who are tagged during the first day can confirm without fearing they'll lose their spot.
- On the second day of confirmations, ANYONE can confirm, but only those who missed the edition will be tagged.
- To confirm you only have to make a post in the thread saying '' confirms'' or something similar during the appropiate day. You don't need to post your entry yet. You can't confirm via PM.
- Starting a NS before the confirmation time is allowed but DOESN'T guarantee your spot, you still have to confirm in time.
- The only TWO countries that will have a guaranteed spot are the winning country from last edition AND me (as most of you suggested).
- ANYONE who misses ANY deadline will lose their spot automatically. Some people will have to miss out, so if someone doesn't even vote when they are taking someone else's spot then they'll obviousy lose it so that someone who is interested can join instead.
- If you miss out one edition, you won't lose your cuntry. If you miss TWO editions, then your country is at risk.
The main goals of this system are:
* Keeping the most interested participants in. * Having a system that quickly rotates users so they don't miss out several editions in a row. * Keeping the high content quality. * Reducing the ''first come, first serve'' factor the most.
HOW WILL THIS WORK IN #44?
- BOTH #42 AND #43 will be registered in the first average score. The top 20 from them will be able to confirm during the birst day.- Since there are no RotW users now, the rest 10 spots will be available for everyone else during the second day.- Those who already submitted me an entry WON'T HAVE A GUARANTEED SPOT, AS I SAID IN THE FIRST POST. You also do have to confirm in your respective day to save your spot.- Those who didn't qualify to the Grand Final in #42 AND in #43 and get to participate in #44 will start with an average of 30.00.- I'll announce the exact time and day of confirmations later today. So pay special attention to that, the thread will be ''FoM #44: Confirmation Thread (Day and Time)''.
Why didn't I pick any of the other options?
PLAYLISTS: This idea was VERY attractive at first and it was the most supported one too. HOWEVER, I know my participants. Just as evidence of what I mean, look at the poll in this thread, I tagged 45 people in a thread called ''FoM: VERY IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT'' and, out of those, 35 voted. So I have very little hope the other 10 will be motivated enough to vote with a Youtube playlist. Plus, I don't think it's worth it putting that extra effort for people who aren't that interested in this contest and I'd rather just keep those interested ones satisfied (let's say the exact 35 who voted in the poll will participate in future editions, only 5 of them would miss out and they could quickly come back next edition thanks to this rotating system).Co-host: First I'd have to find a co-host that is EXTREMELY trustworthy, but even after I get one, it's ver difficult to recreate my exact video format if they don't have the same video making program I use, so I'd still have to do all the videos, which is like 80% of the work.PQR: It'd basically be more work for me, which is what I want to avoid Why I took down the ''first come first serve'' system: it's very true that it wouldn't be fair to just leave those who aren't fast enough out considering timezones. So with this system I'm trying to reduce that factor.This system will just begin to work, so probably there will be changes, there may be some oversights or things aren't too clear for some, so if you have any question/suggestion please go ahead and ask, I'll reply to all of your questions to make this system as clear as posssible.

Even though I'm a bit late and I've already seen all of what's happening, I just wanted to thank you @gilberto for the amazing work that you do, that's the first contest that I took part in so I'm a bit sad to see everything change but I fully understand and I am sure it will give a new dinamyc to the whole thing. Thank you very much for your kind words, it's greatly appreciated Participants like you are the main reason why I keep doing this contest Yeah, it's sad that it has come to this, leaving many participants out really hurts specilly those who has been in this contest for more editions, but as I said, life takes priority and I really needed this change, hopefully we go back to the normal format in the future, but for now this seems like the most reasonable thing to do. Hopefully it'll still be as enjoyable as usual and that editions are a bit faster so those who missed out can join back quickly Confirmations for the second day start in 13 minutes and there are only 10 spots left!
