VERY IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
VERY IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
If you're a regular Festival of Miracles' participant, please read the whole post carefully, it contains some drastic changes to the contest and the reasons why it's happening.
For a better understanding of this, I have divided the post in 4 parts:
1. What's going to happen?
2. What are the options?
3. What would happen with each option?
4. Why is this happening?
Final notes
For a better understanding of this, I have divided the post in 4 parts:
1. What's going to happen?

Final notes
1. What's going to happen?
Starting edition #44, there will be no more semi-final's, instead we will only have one big Grand Final, so ALL participants who get to confirm will participate in it. Depending of which options gets picked, there's a possibility that we will start to have a players limit each edition.
However, the Grand Final format is yet to be decided and I need your help here. This is why there's a poll in this thread and it's VERY, VERY, important that you participate in it as it will represent a very important change to the contest's whole procedure.
2. What are the options?
In last edition we had a total of 45 participants. Taking this into account, one could argue that 45 songs would be too much for just one Grand Final. This is why I'm asking you what you think is best as a limit for this Grand Final, or if there should be a limit at all, as they'd translate into the final amount of players that could participate in each edition.
From a technical point of view, hosting a Grand Final with +40 countries is 100% possible from editing to managing it. However, personally I think that voting in such a huge Grand Final would be complicated.
That's why I'm giving you these choices to vote from:
a) Having a limit of 30, 35 or 40 participants in each edition. This means several of the current players would have to sit out, unfortunately, but we'd have a manageable Grand Final to vote in. Of course if a more ''relaxed'' limit such as 40 is selected, then the number of players missing out would be small.
b) No limit, having the Grand Final with as many participants that confirm in time. If you have no problem at all with having a big Grand Final and don't want to see anyone missing out of the edition, then this would be the best option.

3. What would happen with each option?
a) If any of the ''limits'' option is selected, the confirmation period would change drastically:
- Only the first 30, 35 or 40 participants to confirm would participate in the edition, those who miss will have a chance to already confirm for next edition. Just a '' confirms'' would be enough to reserve a spot, you'll be able to post your entries later.
- I'm willing to give my own spot for someone else, so that at least one more player gets the chance to join.
- ONLY the hosting country will have their spot guaranteed.
- I'd post, at least one day earlier, the exact time and date when confirmations will take place, I'll try to get a very reasonable time so that most can try to get their spot quickly regardless of their timezone.
- ONLY for this edition there would be some exceptions (those who already sent me an entry before this post), this won't happen in future editions.
Of course this is like a 'beta' design, all of this is subject to change once this system starts working and once I read suggestions.
b) If ''no limit'' is selected, the confirmations would run as usual, everyone who confirms will have a spot in the Grand Final. As simple as that, no one would miss out.
Note: It'd sound very attractive having something similar to a PQR so everyone gets an attempt to get into the Grand Final, however, this would go against what I'm trying to do, which I'll explain next.
4. Why is this happening?
Some of you may be thinking that this is very unfair, specially considering that many participants would have to miss out, and that I took this decision by myself. Also considering several of you already had plans for this edition.
This was a very personal decision, I'm well aware it's not the ideal and that keeping things as they already are would be better from a participant's perspective, however these are the reasons that pushed me to this point:
- Lack of time: I'm about to graduate from college and I'm just starting my professional practices and thesis. So that leaves very little time for anything that isn't that.
- Lack of interest: Kind of connected to the previous one, when I finally get free time, I don't really feel like doing tedious procedures like FoM sometimes requires (specially towards the end of the confirmations period) so I'd rather spend my free time doing other kind of stuff.
- It can be very exhausting: Unfortunately, I think the work and tediousness is greater than the joy I'm getting from FoM.
There has always been tediousness and hard work involved in each edition I have hosted, but after some years, the joy unfortunately started to fade away from me, I'm not as enthusiastic about hosting this contest as I was before. Don't get me wrong, I DO enjoy hosting this, but I had to think with a cold heart and come to this conclussion, as I'm working and getting stressed way too much for something that should be considered as just a hobby.
In short: I'm tired. As much as I enjoy hosting this contest, it can be very exhausting at times and it adds an extra pressure to all the stress I already have. Sometimes I felt FoM more of a ''unpaid job'' rather than a hobby. (Of course I know I'm not obligated to keep hosting this)
I considered several alternatives, going from having a co-host to completely stopping it (reason why I haven't opened confirmations yet), so having only one big Grand Final sounded like the best option to me: I'd still get to host FoM but at a much more ''relaxed'' work amount.
Final notes
The poll will be open for as many days as necessary awaiting that most participants vote, as it's a VERY important decision, I want everyone to be involved in it.
MOST of this is subject to change, as I mentioned, this is some kind of ''beta'' system and not the final product, as I'm aware some polishing would be needed.
If you have any comment, feedback, suggestion, question, ANYTHING you want to say, please, PLEASE just post it, for me it's extremely important to know your opinions, YOU are the ones who make this contest possible after all, so please don't hold anything back, even if it's completely against what I'm saying, it's in times like this when I need to hear you the most.
