Australia confirms for #33!19/06/2020 • MelbourneSBS is once again excited to confirm that, regardless of Lastlings' result in the grand final of NVSC 32, Australia will be present in the 33rd edition of NVSC, marking their fourth appearance in the contest. Australia has appeared in every grand final since their debut in NVSC 30, and will certainly be hoping to keep that record going through the 33rd edition. As with last edition, the broadcaster has also been quick to provide fans with information regarding the Australian selection process ahead of NVSC 33.
Instead of opting for Australia Decides, as with the last two editions, the Australian entry will be decided internally, with the broadcaster already hosting an open call for all artists across the country to submit songs. Additionally, SBS will be asking delegations from across NVSC to privately help decide their entry.
If any HoD/Co-HoD would like to help choose the Australian entry for NVSC 33, please either message me on the forums, Discord (alexeh#0209) or Messenger, or fill out the following short form. Either is fine! THE FORM
Delegations will be shown short snippets of around ten songs and then be asked to give a brief opinion on the songs, and score them out of 10. These opinions and scores will be incredibly helpful for SBS in selecting their entry for 33.
More information is expected to be released after the grand final results. Australia made their North Vision debut in the thirtieth edition as part of the associate broadcaster celebrations, which Vera Blue won with her song "The Way That You Love Me" by just four points ahead of 2nd placed Uzbekistan. In the grand final, the song came in 7th place with 273 points, only just missing out on an automatic qualification position. In the 31st edition, they were represented by Vancouver Sleep Clinic and the song "Someone to Stay", which qualified once again to the grand final in Lillehammer, finishing in 13th place with 243 points. Australia then made their third final in a row with Lastlings and their song "Take My Hand".

Luxembourg confirms presence for 33rd edition Luxembourg is now hosting a historical edition of the North Vision Song Contest, known for introducing new innovative technologies to make the contest better than ever before. Hosting such a large event on an international level, it broke viewership records at national broadcaster RTL Télé Lëtzebuerg.
As such, the confirmation of Luxembourg at the 33rd edition was not something to be discussed, ultimately approving the participation of the small nation. More details on the method of selection will be decided in due course.

ICELAND CONFIRMS!Reykjavík, 19th June 2020
RÚV, the Icelandic broadcaster, has just confirmed that Iceland will be participating in the 33rd edition of the North Vision Song Contest.
Despite the unfair early elimination of our act Elísabet, participation in the contest is a must and Iceland is committed to taking part regularly for the foreseeable future. Viewing figures are still quite high in the country, and are expected to remain that way even with the country failing to qualify to the final.
This was confirmed by the head of delegation, Dýri Brjánsson today in Reykjavík: This is a song contest and sometimes you win some and you lose some. Last edition, unfortunately despite the positive reactions to our song and national selection, we still managed to miss out on the final which we found disappointing, however we were very proud of Elísabet nevertheless. The Icelandic public and indeed our delegation are committed to the contest and will make sure we participate as usual.
With this, even in the event of participating in the pre-qualification round, Iceland will be present at the next edition.
With regards to the selection process, the delegation is currently undecided on what to do for the upcoming edition. It is expected that a decision will be made after the results of the 32nd edition have been released, although both the HoD and Co-HoD have not ruled out another edition of Ferðin til... despite the selection being unsuccessful this edition. Depending on the result, the national selection could be used to select the Icelandic act, but the broadcaster could also opt for an internal selection in the event of a PQR placing.
One artist in particular has stated that they would love to return for revenge, however this has yet to be confirmed by the broadcaster.
But for now, the Icelandic delegation is open to suggestions. If you have any songs that you would like to see represent Iceland, you can suggest them here!
Stay tuned for more news!

MOLDOVA CONFIRMS!
Earlier today TRM held a press conference regaring the Moldovan participation in the North Vision Song Contest. The head of delegation made a statement: "Even though we failed to qualify in #32, we continue being proud of the risky choice we made! We know having to go through the PQR again is a possibility & some people in the delegation wanted to withdraw if Moldova was destined to participate in the PQR again and suggested we should wait on making a decision after the results of the grand final of #32. But as HOD I have the final say in the matter and I can now confirm that Moldova will participate in the 33rd edition of the North Vision Song Contest!"
Not so long after the press conference finished it was leaked that TRM has already decided to select their entry internal once again!
