Siddharta is one of our most popular and successful bands. They took part once before and did quite well.

After more than 30 editions I'm giving another shot to Igo & REMIX. This time with their 1987 song about yellow shoes. (If you don't know much about Soviet times, then you probably have no idea, why they would sing something like that. But the reason is very simple (see spoiler))

In Soviet times most of the clothing and shoes were very much the opposite of nowadays. Firstly, there wasn't much of a choice, so you had to take, what you could get. And, secondly, the fashion was dominated by black, grey, and especially brown colours. Rarely some other colours. Plus, everything was more or less the same style. So owning something that stands out (like the yellow shoes they sing about) pretty much made you a cool guy/girl.

If you don't know, who they are (you probably don't due to what I'm gonna say next), then let me remind you how they did on their debut - they finished 26th (last) with only 4 points (which is my 2nd worst result and one of the worst results in Retro WWWSC). I really hope this time they can get at least something a bit better, although I'm careful with my hopes for this one.

After mostly newer songs in this decade so far, here's an entry from the 70s.

Definitely not expecting to do well with this one, but it's one of the most legendary songs of the classic Austropop and I just wanted to send it before Edition #100.
The lyrics are about a nude guy entering a famous cafe in Vienna and the reactions of the other guests about it.

So yes, it's from the lyrics a rather bizarre but humorous song, and I believe it's actually based on a real incident (smirk)
