Greek winner revealed – Eleni Foureira returns!

After weeks, the voting for NorthSong 0018 officially closed, with the winner being revealed right after. ERT revealed that a total of 55 votes were cast in the selection. You can check the results video down below.

Eleni Foureira to wave the greek flag!

Eleni Foureira was revealed to be the big winner of NorthSong 0018. The singer won the selection with her song "Dokimase me" and will represent the country for the third time, after she took part in the eighth and twenty-second edition of the contest with the songs "Anemos agapis" and "Mono gia sena" respectively, and placed 5th and 2nd in the final.

The voting grid was revealed along with the announcement of the winner. Foureira managed to collect an outstanding amount of 159 points, 11 points ahead the runner-up – Antonella and "Balkan". As for the rest of the results, you can check them out in the voting grid below.

ERT held a press conference with the winner of the selection right after the announcement, where the media had the chance to ask their questions to the winner as well as the Head of Delegation. Before the press questions started, Eleni gave the following statement:

"I just want to say thank you to the people who voted for me, and I'm glad to represent my country in the contest. Hopefully, I can keep up the good streak the artists have previously brought to the country, and maybe an even better one this time. Thank you, once again, for your love and support for my song. Can't wait to see you all out there in Russia."

IT'S BABET FOR THE NETHERLANDS!

After a hard fought evening here in The Netherlands, Babet has emerged victorious over 15 other acts to win the ticket to Saint Petersburg. She won with 241 overall points, getting the maximum 12 points from 8 countries.

Babet will perform the song "Chameleon" in the semi finals!

Ecem Böke (aka Nova Norda) is a singer and songwriter from Istanbul.
This was not her first attempt to represent her country in the contest: back in July, she took part in KuzeyMelodi: hedef Gürcistan, reaching the 7th place. She tried her luck once again in the selection for NVSC #35, when she finally got the trophy, winning with 201 points.

She will sing one of her latest singles, "Bakma Bana Öyle" (Don't look me like that).
Nova Norda about her song: "It is not always easy to live a lifetime peacefully with your beloved ones when you feel imprisoned in your own body and condemned to your own self. Fighting is tiring, but making peace is even more difficult.
If you are a thinking person, you question yourself. You question yourself because you are someone who thinks. Perhaps the moments when you feel helpless are the pain of the steps you take to make peace with yourself. I know what you feel. You are not alone."

- Andorra takes the retro way to North Vision Song Contest #35! -

After two weeks of exciting voting, Marta Sango managed to win Made in Andorra #13 and therefore the right to represent the micronation in the thirty-fifth edition of the contest. Despite the close results, Marta managed to stay in the top of the competition since the very first vote, congratulations!

Marta Sango made herself a place in the spanish music industry after participating in the famous spanish talent show Operación Triunfo. There, the 18 year-old managed to end in a more than great seventh place.
"¿Qué Más Quieres De Mi?", is a pop song that instantly evokes 80s vibes and adresses female empowerment and freedom in a partying mood.

BELGIUM HAS CHOSEN!

Brussels, 21 February 2021

The fourth edition of the Belgian selection format - Belfestival has just come to an end. The competition saw ten songs battle it out for the golden ticket to Russia. Belgium's public broadcasters RTBF and VRT are finally ready to announce the winner of the National Selection process that decided our entry for Saint Petersburg. It was determined, as per usual, by the points awarded by international juries. It was a close voting process between two of the songs, but ultimately only one of the acts could prevail.

SOFIA

Sofia Anessiadis - who goes by the stage name Sofia - is a Torhout-based singer and songwriter. Anessiadis has Greek roots and was born with a love for music. Her father Foti, who passed away in 2009, was also a passionate musician. Sofia sees music as an art because it allows for expression. Right after the final results were revealed, she announced she did not expect much from her participation in Belfestival. Now, she has won the Belgian national final, Belfestival:35 earning the opportunity to go to Saint Petersburg as Belgium's thirty-first North Vision representative.

Her North Vision entry, "Evol" represents the start of the musical journey. It is a compelling dark pop song, supported with lyrics filled with metaphors about a heartbreak.
