I give  UK and  Canada good chances as they stand out in the recap;  Portugal could be up there too as Amália has usually done well, so maybe it worked again |

 6th!  Well that came out of nowhere. But thanks to everyone for 86 points.  I love getting 2 unexpected top 6 results within 4 editions.  I really can't say a lot about the results since I hardly remember any songs. But I now know (since it was played in the results show) the winning song and while I understand the outcome, I'm absolutely not a fan lol. In fact it's rather repetitive and too much "New York" and "L.A." imho. Congrats to Canada once again, however. Btw. just realized that it's been quite a while now.  Yay my  Portugal, my   Greece and my   Germany all came top 4 - but ofc not winning.  |

I should that when I left live translation of results, the biggest thing that I hoped was that Russia won't finish last. Wait, what just happened? It's been 52 editions since I last won and having come so close before (especially in #73 against Antique) I didn't think Canada would win again, especially not this edition. I picked the song as it sounded modern, which I knew would stand out more in an edition full of old songs. Thank you to everyone who voted for Canada, especially to  Austria, UK and Ethiopia for your  points.  Fun facts about the song, it was originally released in 1965 in French by Gilles Vigneault and won  Sopot 1965 with a version by Monique Leyrac. It also marks the first Canadian victory outside of Ontario or Quebec, with the entrant being the first artist from New Brunswick to represent Canada, iirc. Didn't vote for it, but still nice.  Nice enjoyable song.  Not bad.   My favorite in the top 9, underrated.        were underrated. Thanks again and see you in Canada for the iconic #111! |
