The head of delegation made a statement: "We unfortunately failed to qualify to the grand final but we escaped the PQR by finishing 14th in the semi final, so we will be a part of #37 no matter what!"

FAROESE PLANS REVEALED
After the announcement of the Faroese broadcaster reserving the rights for the upcoming three editions of the North Vision Song Contest, further plans for the country's method of choosing their act for the next edition have been announced. A national selection under the name "Sangur" is going to return: "We are glad to announce that Pepsi Max® is our sponsor for this edition, allowing us the return of a national selection, and it's going to be a good one!" Jórunn Barnarsdóttir, press spokesperson for KVF, revealed "Our goal is to present more songs than we usually do, to give our audience a greater variety of styles and themes."
"This time, we thought of a new format to choose our next entry: duels are going to be set in place" Barnarsdóttir continued, "8 songs in total are going to be competing, with 4 quarter finals, two semi-finals and the two big winners battling it out in a grand final duel. We are planning to include a great variety of musical styles, languages, genders and want to have LGBTQ+ representation." The submissions for the national selection have already been opened and will close on 20 September 2021. The dates of the national selection broadcasts have not yet been revealed.

KEIN WARTEN AUF EINE TEILNAHMSBESTÄTIGUNG Austria will take part in Sweden, with some changes in its selection format. Austria is back in the game. With a fifteenth place in the final by KØLEEN, the country is ecstatic to confirm their presence as stated by the Head of Delegation this morning. However, as the broadcaster ORF has recently experienced a shift in leadership towards the right-wing, budget cuts are enforced and the successful gender-inclusive national selection Kaiserschmarrn will be halted for at least one edition. There are plans to continue the format in the future to promote the culture and musical talent from Austria with a slightly altered voting format, citing that "national selections this selection have not given rise of quality, and the winner being selected from a diminished pool of voters", which has indeed been noted by the Austrian delegation. Submissions for artists and entries have opened and will close later this month. An entry reveal is expected in October and the delegation is open to negotiate a revelation show with other countries that wish to tag along.

SHALOM NORTHVISION! This morning, following Noa Kirel's saddening but encouraging placement in Bologna, KAN confirmed the Israeli participation in the 37th edition of the Northvision Song Contest, held in Sweden. The head of delegation Maxim Raevsky added: "Our expectations were pretty high for Noa and her song "Yahalomim". Unfortunately we could only reach the 20th place, which is however an improvement since last edition. Can't wait to visit Sweden, the kings of pop music!" For the third time in a row, the Israeli entry will be chosen through the national selection show Israelifest. Newcomers and established singers from Israel and beyond are invited to submit their potential entries via www.kan.org.il/northvision

| LRT announces internal changes within the Delegation
|
Lithuanian public broadcaster LRT (Lietuvos nacionalinis radijas ir televizija) has announced this morning the departure of its current Head of Delegation for the North Vision Song Contest.
"Together with the team, we've been showcasing the top-notch Lithuanian talents for two decades of the biggest music show in the Northern hemisphere and Australia. However, all good things must come to an end and it is time for change in the Delegation. I am confident that my successors will do their best to bring the trophy to Vilnius," he said.
Former Head of Delegation worked with the Lithuanian entries for exactly 20 editions, having joined in #16 as the Deputy Head of Delegation and taken over the steering wheel in #27. On his debut edition, the Baltic nation scored its second best result at the contest when the internationally-acclaimed artist Alina Orlova came 6th with her poetic piece "Elegantiškai sninga". Other successes included an extraordinary performance by the Lithuanian-Swiss pop diva Ginta, the rising star Evgenya Redko and a hidden London-based gem AISTÈ.
In #34, the Delegation made a firm decision to dedicate their entry "Laisvė" (Freedom) to the people fighting for democracy in the neighbouring Belarus. Despite the remarkable performance of Ieva Narkutė, the Northern hemisphere was not there for it and awarded it the last place.
As part of the HoD's legacy, the broadcaster continues to stand by this mission and is exploring possibilities to let the Belarussian singers oppressed by the regime participate under the Lithuanian flag in some format.
The broadcaster has refused to reveal any information on the new figure to take on the role, leaving it a mystery for the nearest future. LRT, Vilnius © 2021 • Released on 11th September 2021
