Confirmations are Closed (Ignore the fact that I'm like a day late with this.

Unfortunately,

Reunion failed to confirm under Alper. Since this is the second edition in a row in which they failed to announce anything, Reunion would normally become free, but fra mentioned that they would be interested in the nation, and will get grandfathered into the edition. This means that we will have a record breaking total of fifty (50) nations coming to Lesotho. This will mean that we will have a quarter-final of 8 nations, with only 4 moving onto the semis.

RTI (Radio Television Ivoirienne) confirms that Ivory Coast will be present in the tenth Own Africavision Song Contest marking 10 participations.

Known as the ‘Southeast Songstress’, Yiigaa’s sound mixes up her own fresh twist with classic R&B to create a diverse original vibe grown from her upbringing surrounded by world music, the South London rave scene as well as her love for garage, soul-electric and house. Born and raised in

Brixton by her

Ivorian master drummer father (Henri Gaobi) and her travel-loving mother; Yiigaa spent her childhood surrounded by music either playing at home or at the many festivals she went to from a young age with her family. In addition to her rich musical heritage, Yiigaa is also an accomplished actor and is part of the coveted National Youth Theatre. In October 2020, Yiigaa featured in the Abdou Cisse short film ‘Damage Control (Enough)’ which aired on Channel 4 as part of the channel’s boundary-pushing short film strand, ‘Random Acts’.

The South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSTV) has officially announced the country's return in the competition some weeks ago and immediately opened the submissions for South Sudanese and diaspora artists who were interested in repressing South Sudan. Even if the whole population was happy and excited to see South Sudan back in OAfSC, the broadcaster has only received 18 possible entries with 5 of them being sent by the icon, the legend Akon Makeer and 3 of them by Queen Zee. However SSTV has decided to send a new artist to the contest who is really famous in South Sudan: please say welcome to

Ayak Thiik! Ayak Thiik is a South Sudanese singer based in London, her love for music was evident at an early age, and she was able to sing long before she was able to talk. Ayak Thiik had signed a record deal with German record label Stereo Wonderland, Polydor, Universal and recorded an album – making her the first Sudanese artist to be signed by a major label worldwide. In OAfSC she will sing an electro act with Hot Source called Patience! Listen to our song here:
