| Lietuvos Garsai 6 comes to an end: Lithuania officially reveals their entry |
The sixth edition of Lietuvos Garsai has finally come to an end. After an intense battle and a super-final, the tables turned drastically. After all, it can be revealed that Gabrielė Vilkickytė will represent the Baltic country in the forty-second edition of North Vision Song Contest in Lisbon, Portugal with her song "Patalai" ("Bedsheets").
Gabrielė Vilkickytė, who won the Breakthrough of the Year Award at the 2021 M.A.M.A. Awards, is one of the most unique artists in the Lithuanian music scene right now. In 2017 Gabrielė auditioned for the Eurovision Song Contest with her vocal tune "Jūra.” The long-lasting love from the audiences prompted the artist to showcase more original songs written alongside with Chris Metric. Today the name Gabrielė Vilkickytė and her music are becoming more widespread. Gabrielė is selling out multiple venues, including Vasaros Terasa in Vilnius and the biggest arena in the country - Žalgirio Arena in Kaunas. Gabrielė has already participated twice in Lietuvos Garsai, coming 6th in the first edition and 10th in the third one.
In the super-final of Lietuvos Garsai 6, Gabrielė won against Gamka and his song "Uraganas" by just one vote, as well as Martynas Kavaliauskas and the song "Nežaisk", which was left 3rd with 12 votes. Surprisingly, in the grand final, the Top 3 was reverse, with Martynas triumphing and Gabrielė closing the Top 3.

Wanted: a qualification Tina Yamout wins NAHDA with Matloub!
LBCI has just revealed the results of its national selection for the forty-second North Vision Song Contest and chosen the artist who will fly the Lebanese flag in Lisbon. By a strong margin, the inaugural edition of new selection format NAHDA has crowned its winner, with a total of 166 points.
Tina Yamout
Rising to fame thanks to her appearance in the fourth series of pan-Arab talent search Star Academy, dynamic singer-songwriter, composer and producer Tina Yamout commands attention with her unique blend of soulful pop and poignant ballads. Her crossover music style brings together pop, R&B, and Middle Eastern influences, bridging the Occident and Orient in a sound that captivates and inspires audiences both within and beyond her homeland.
With a string of acclaimed stage performances to her name and a back catalogue of streaming successes in the MENA region, Yamout's artistic growth stems from a relentless pursuit of sonic innovation, a commitment to pushing artistic boundaries, and an unwavering desire to touch hearts and souls with her music.
« Matloub » Composer Tina YamoutTimeslot 1:36+
Tina Yamout will be bringing her NAHDA-winning, self-written song "Matloub" (مَطْلوب), Arabic for 'wanted', to Lisbon. A catchy, fun, and distinctly Arab pop song, its lyrics are a playful exploration of the characteristics Yamout is looking for in her dream partner. Where this partner is – Tunisia, Bahrain, Egypt or Lebanon – she wonders, and who knows – maybe Portugal is the answer. Tina herself has described her entry as "such a sensual song that celebrates femininity, that celebrates empowerment," and no doubt she will bring that to her stage performance in Lisbon.
"Matloub" took home a comfortable victory in NAHDA with 166 points, cutting through a competitive field of more divisive entries to a twenty-nine point lead, receiving points from all but one of the voting jurors. Despite receiving six sets of twelve points, Anthony Touma and Mohammed Tarek ultimately finished as runners-up with "Sleeping On Me", whilst Diana Deeb's sensual "Drip Gold" rounded off the podium.
Will "Matloub" bring Lebanon to its first final since edition #37? We're crossing our fingers 💚 The full results of NAHDA #42 are in the spoiler below. Thank you to all the voters 💚
Lebanon's NVSC journey made the best possible start as Nicole Saba won for the country on their debut in the fifth edition with 'Hafdal Ahlam', bringing the contest to Beirut for the sixth edition and starting a (to this day unmatched) three-edition qualification streak. The country's results from then on were rather turbulent, including two four-edition streaks of non-qualifications, although Myriam Fares achieved Lebanon's second best result with 'Nifsi Aoulhalak' in the fourteenth edition - second place.
A new delegation stepped in for the twenty-fourth edition, bringing Lebanon back to the final with Nelly Makdessy's 'Kunt Atmanna' in Vienna, and achieving three top ten results for the country (with 'Call Me a Stranger', '22' and 'Dear Jealousy') before passing the baton on to the current delegation team for the thirty-fourth edition onwards, returning to the final - and to the top ten - with Azure Ryder's 'Stronger'. The country has seen mixed results since, with Venus Bleeds' 'Revelation' being the country's most recent qualifier in the thirty-seventh edition of the contest. Brought to you by the Lebanese delegation on 12th November 2023

Follow your emotions with Czechia! Last edition, the brilliant Aiko managed to secure her second qualification for the Grand Final, thus granting Czechia a second consecutive appearance in the Final, and a fourth qualification out of the last 5 editions. Despite this success, a new edition of the national selection NVSCZ has not been held this time, with Head of Delegation Julius Horváth clarifying the reasons in a press conference today, where the next Czech representative has also been announced:
Without further ado, the song representing Czech Republic is...Best of luck to all countries from Czechia, and may the best entry win!
