So today I found out what subjects I'm allowed to select for S6, my final year of secondary  At the moment I look pretty much set to take: Advanced Higher BiologyAdvanced Higher ChemistryAdvanced Higher MusicHigher Religious, Moral and Philosophical Studies I got the Advanced Highers I wanted which is great I was also given the opportunity to sit a crash Higher so I chose the best possible option there too ^^ Overall I'm really happy with the subjects I got to choose  Advanced Higher is also the highest possible level I can go in secondary, so I'm quite glad my teachers had enough faith in me selecting the most challenging level  |

So I got my final result for semester 1. I officially passed semester one ! Geography - 62% French - 66% Crit. Skills - 69% Irish - 48% (like I mentioned I will improve as I'm likely going to keep this subject on in 2nd year). |

Dylan As long as you try, that's what should count as the main thing. I can understand learning a language such as a Irish to be rather technical, I have had a look at the basics myself and it baffles me, so fair play that you give it a go and want to keep at it! That's the right mentality!  Well done on your results

Dylan As long as you try, that's what should count as the main thing. I can understand learning a language such as a Irish to be rather technical, I have had a look at the basics myself and it baffles me, so fair play that you give it a go and want to keep at it! That's the right mentality! Well done on your results thank you yes Irish is a hard language on the surface, especially if you're not exposed to it. And if I can be frankly honest, 48 is good for a non native speaker all classes are in Irish which I haven't gotten too much exposure to.  Honestly Irish isn't so difficult after you get into it. Because of inflexion, nouns changing depending on a case and situation it makes things harder. And of course.. you need to distinguish whether or not nouns are masculine or feminine.. But if you have a good teacher too, it's good.  |
