Did it frighten you, how we kissed when we danced on the light up floor?

I've made a short test forum here: songcontestforums.proboards.com/ Under the board we find thing sorted by edition in sub-boards, and in the normal board the allround information, news, wiki, website. In NVSC 1 we can find threads related to it, and we've another sub-board for the National Selections.
This could be the basis of the newly organized forums.
So now what do we think?
I don't get what's the meaning of the size "500/1000" etc... is that the number of the posts, of the users or what?

No Rick, it's the number of posts. ^^ After contests' exceed that 1000, they'll get a position with the Grand Contests like NVSC.

Well, I think the contests that have got at least 5 editions should have at least a sub-board in the other contest's thread and every contests that has got at least 10 edition should be moved in the main page. I think organization & editions, but also participants are the key for an important contest. Other than that, we shouldn't create other boards just because a lot of contests close after the first or the second edition.

Yeah, it's this kind of worst-case-scenario there can be happen if we talk about the average confusion, which are not putted in me and Jeffrey's mindset but by all others..

Yeah, it's this kind of worst-case-scenario there can be happen if we talk about the average confusion, which are not putted in me and Jeffrey's mindset but by all others.. It might be... But still, I prefer the forum as it is now, it has only to be reviewed for a "partial cleaning". But actually it's very tiring doing every contest a sub-board when it grows and you have to move it then.. a good work from the start you do once it's better than keep working every day.

Actually, it's another solid statement! Editions of the song contests can be worth fit the newcomers way to be introduced for how's the forum has been built/revolutionized. In that case, both meaning the known users on YouTube AND the users who haven't tried entering in a song contest before or just have tried sometimes!

In that case, both meaning the known users on YouTube AND the users who haven't tried entering in a song contest before or just have tried sometimes! Of course! But it's mainly because people just tried 2 or 3 times to enter a SC and then they want to do another contest, this one supposed to close after a few editions because it's too tiring.

What about something else? Another way for categorize contests or at least keep forums clean could be ok if we do something like "The Song Contest Forum Constitution" It should be formed by rules like "A contest is allowed to make NFs only after it has reached 5 successful editions" or.. "A contest shouldn't take the same abbreviation of a contest that has been ran for at least 3 successful editions".. "A contest can't have wiki page if the first edition isn't done".. "A contest can have a sub-board in the other contests' board when it has reached at least 5 editions and a board in the home when it has reached 10 editions" That should be the new general rules for the many upcoming contests from this date. Of course it's hard for already existing contests to accomodate but it's meant to be for new or upcoming contests only, done by new users also. Then after stopping all this flood of threads, you can begin to clean them and organize them into sub-boards in the Other Contests' board.

I agree with you Rick on the point, that contest should have indeed have 5 editions, but also at the same time be featured in a way on the main page. So what can be possible is: - The Grand Contests (Either 1000+ posts or 10 editions long) - The 'Medium' Contest (Either 500+ posts or 5 editions long) - The 'Starters' (500- posts and/or less than 5 editions long) - Inactive Section with temporary not active contests (Say like VSC is returning .....) - Archived/Retired Contests. - All other junk older than some months not active: Either deleted or dropped in a hidden board. (that is possible).

A constitution is a good idea, but I say you can't make general rules like National Selections after 5 editions. That is contest based only. But for overall rules, like we had with the GSC naming dispute, would be a good idea.
