Semi-Final 1 participants announced!Click on the artist's picture to listen to the song.01. BELDINA("Here We Go")Beldina Malaika is a Kenyan artist living in Sweden, yet sheâs coveted by some of the American greats. At just 22, she has opened for Faith Evans and thrown down vocals for Stevie Wonder. More recently, she sang the hook on the Childish Gambino track, âNot Going Back.â Additionally, she tours with large-scale Swedish acts like Rasmus Faber and Timbuktu.
Her talent alone gets her these gigs; sheâs not one for stunts and gimmicks. Beldinaâs a self-proclaimed âwoman of few wordsâ who has given few interviews and offers little personal information online. This soft-spoken rising diva just happens to have a mind-blowing, scale-bending voice â and that sheâs not afraid to show off.
She will open the first semi-final with her song "Here We Go".02. NAME THE PET("Get On The Bus")Name The Pet, actually Hanna Brandén, is an 28-year-old Swedish electronic singer, who released her debut album "Name The Pet" in 2009. She will perform 2nd in the first semi-final with her electronic pop song "Get On The Bus".03. JAY-JAY JOHANSON("Mr Fredrikson")Once voted "the most beautiful man in the world", Swedish singer/songwriter Jay-Jay Johanson, born in TrollhÀttan, October 11, 1969, started composing already as a teenager, but it wasn't until August 1996 he was to release his first album, "Whiskey". With his seventh album "Self-Portrait" Jay-Jay Johanson remains as surprising and daring as ever, exchanging the ornate arrangements and etheral strings of earlier releases for organic noise and twisted sensibilities. In 2013, Jay-Jay Johnason took part in Melodifestivalen with his song "Paris", finishing last in his semi-final.
Like in Melodifestivalen, he will perform as 3rd in the first semi-final with his mysterious piece "Mr Fredrikson".04. PANETOZ("Vissla Med Mig")Panetoz is a Swedish multi-ethnic band with members originating from Gambia, Ethiopia, Angola, Congo and Finland-Sweden. Panetoz are now signed to Warner Music. ANNA SAHLENE("Jamie")Anna Sahlene began singing and playing instruments at a very early age. She has learned singing, piano, cello, guitar and oboe. As a nine year old, she starred as one of the main characters in the movies based on Astrid Lindgren's book 'The Children of Noisy Village'. Sahlene was also among the members of One Voice who formed the chorale for the Charlotte Nilsson performance of "Take Me to Your Heaven" at Eurovision 1999 where, representing Sweden, the number won. At the subsequent Eurovision 2000, held in Stockholm, Sahlene was again onstage as one of the members of One Voice who formed the chorale for the Claudette Pace performance of the Maltese entrant "Desire". In 2002, she represented Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest with her song "Runaway" which resulted in a third place finish. Moreover, she tried to return to the Eurovision Song Contest in taking part in Melodifestivalen in 2003, 2006 and 2009.
Now she is trying to represent her native country in the North Vision Song Contest, with her pop ballad "Jamie", starting 5th in her semi-final.06. ADIAM DYMOTT("Pizza")Following last year's self-titled debut album and the unfortunately rather successless hit single "Miss You", charismatic 31 year-old Swedish-Eritrean singer Adiam Dymott is back entering the stage of Fantasifestivalen 08. She is known for her body covered with tattoos of her siblings' names.
She wants to represent Sweden in the North Vision Song Contest 08 with her rock song "Pizza", which she will perform as 6th in Semi-Final 1.07. DA BUZZ("Got This Feeling")Da Buzz is a Swedish Eurodance/pop music duo. Members of the group are writers/producers Per Lidén and lead-singer Annika Thörnquist. Although Pier Schmid is no longer part of the group, he is going to support them at Fantasifestivalen, and North Vision Song Contest, if they should get the ticket to represent their home country. All three are from Karlstad. The band has had a successful career in the early 00's, having hits in Sweden, Finland, Norway and Belgium, respectively. They splitted up in 2009, but reunited in 2010. Now their goal is to win Fantasifestivalen 08 and make Sweden proud.
They will perform 7th in the first semi-final with their modern electropop song "Got This Feeling".08. TOVE LO("Out Of Mind")Tove Lo is a Swedish singer/songwriter from Stockholm, who likes to call her genre "Dirrrrty POP!". She is perhaps one of the most mysterious acts this edition, as she likes to keep many things secret and doesn't reveal much of her private life.
She is the last to perform in Semi-Final 1 with her mystic, but feel-good pop song "Out Of Mind". (áŽ

Donât let that comparison to its predecessor make you expect a bore-a-thon though. âSupergirlâ is still an instant and interesting pop gem with a brilliantly crafted melody The song has already shot to number 1 on Swedish iTunes, which is a bloody good sign.
"Supergirl" will be performed 6th in semi-final 3.07. IF YOU SAY SO("Paint Me")A brand new Swedish singer with an odd name is willing to represent Sweden at the North Vision Song Contest 8. Her name is If You Say So. Whispy vocals over sharp strings and some synths with a sense of urgency. The whole thing feels less like a pop song and more like a film soundtrack â which actually makes for a pretty good pop song when you look at it that way.
