Pohunskan Civil War Update On TVs around Pohunskia on every channel the people are watching an emergency message from the government about the nations situation with a clearly shaken news anchor behind the desk getting ready to talk to the nation. "People of Pohunskia, this is a sad moment for our nation as our nation is in turmoil and our people run from those who want to oppress us. The government wants to tell everyone the truth about the civil war and what the situation is. The entirety of Southern Pohunskia has been taken over by a Rebel group called the Pohunskan empire who want to set up a fascist government and reclaim lands they think belong to us. Currently the Federation of Pohunskia has been put under martial law and we have called for all capable men and women to join the Pohunskan Ar..." The broadcast suddenly goes blank and a man in an army uniform appears in front of a large group of people saluting around him screaming "Brebitie Abnor" meaning Hail Abnor who seems to be the supreme leader of the Pohunskan Empire. "People of the weak Pohunskan Federation, the time of our people and our race to rise up from the shackles of democracy to follow our destiny to rule our continent. We are the true leaders of the world and we must show the world our strength so the weak minded sheep across the world will follow their true masters. Our armies shall march over all over the world and trample over the bodies of the unworthy."

BRITTONIC LANGUAGE GAINS REGIONAL LANGUAGE STATUS IN DÝRIA
After discussions between both regional councils and the parliament, the Dýrian government has officially announced today that the Brittonic language which is spoken alongside Irsan in the Irsan populated regions of Dýria, would be given regional status. This comes after protests in the Dýrian capital in June and July over the status of the language, with many protesters shouting "Brezhoneg eo ma yezh" (Brittonic is my language), among others.
What is the Brittonic language?
Brittonic (Brezhoneg) is a language closely related to Cartrefiailth language spoken in Te Ao, and distantly related to the Irsan language which of course is an official language of Dýria. All 3 languages belong to the same language family, the only difference being that they are in separate groups based on their mutual intelligibility to one another.
It is speculated that the language was established in the country centuries ago, not long after Irsan was introduced to the country. However, the number of speakers of the language has always been relatively low in comparison. Despite many believing it to be a dialect of Irsan, it was eventually debunked after an extensive research project was established to study the language and it's history. It has been concluded that it was a separate language entirely.
Why is this change significant?
Brittonic has it's roots in Dýrian history and has been documented over time. At the moment, the language is only native to Dýria, with small communities elsewhere in the world speaking it. Just over 35,000 people speak the language, which has led many Dýrian linguists to consider it severely endangered. Over the years, minor protests did occur, but 2018 was the most significant year of protests. In March 2018, members of the community traveled down to the capital and shouted the common phrase Brezhoneg eo ma yezh while flying the Brittonic flag, a cultural symbol. In June and July, protests started again. Although no one was hurt at all, and that the protests were peaceful, the government immediately decided to take action.
What will happen now?
The government has officially recognized the Brittonic language as a regional language, with the president approving of the move. The plan for the Brittonic language (Rektres ar Brezhoneg) has been set up, and these are the main objectives:
Setting up an official state sponsored office for the language (Ofis Publik ar Brezhoneg) in Dyflinnjaborg Recognition of Brittonic medium schools Translation of official documents and legislation into the Brittonic language Promotion of the Brittonic language through language and culture courses Improving Brittonic media and introducing new media for the language
The president, Ingibjörg Egilsdóttir, addressed the Brittonic community in the language, although this was limited to a few words; A Brezhonegerien/Brezhonegerezed, laouen tre on emaoun o bezañ deoc'h. (Brittonic speakers, I am very happy to be with you). For many years, the Brittonic language had no recognition, your voices were not heard. The past may have upset you, angered you, and your protests have been supported nationwide. However, it stops this year. I am very happy to announce that the Brittonic language will have a place in our country, after many years of being in the shadows.
The plan will officially begin in either late August or September 2018.
Brittonic = Breton Sorry if this seems like a random post but it was something I wanted to post about for weeks now
