Roland Garros 2017 - Vremd Open [organised by FTF]

In 3 exciting sets, Billy won over Spike, and Billy is now also in the Top 16. We have to give a huge applause to Spike too, who became injured at the half of the second set, but he still managed to continue to play and he did a great job, but he couldn't win the match. FTF wishes him a short recovery and better luck for next time.

In the second match Luke easily overcame Joao in just two sets, and with this great form he stepped up as a big favourite for the tournament, let's see if he can fulfill this position.

The third match gave us two relatively easy sets, but the third final set was really exciting until the last moment, and at the end of the tiebreak Andrey secured his place in the Top 16 over Kalliac.

The fourth match hasn't brought much excitement, Ipatiy won over Emre in easy 2 sets (it's important to mention however that Emre had 35 unforced errors in the match, which is a record so far; but he also had 15 Winners, which is a great number for a young player like him).

The first match in the second day for the Women turned out to be really strong, but in the second and third sets homegirl Laura Flipkens managed to overcome Olivia Hendrix and qualified to the Top 16!

The second match was probably the most confusing match yet in this tournament, as Nanna managed to win the first and the third sets by miles over Daniela, but Daniela still succeeded in the second set, winning it for 7-5, but it still wasn't enough for her to qualify and therefore flagharish Nanna is in the Top 16!

The third match was kind of predictable after the first set, Kazrian tried to play her best but clearly Lisa was the better player and she is also through to the next round.

The last match today was the opening match for both of Lidonia and Ruyjin Republic, and the winner was Gabriela Jilova, who brought her country's first win in the tournament so far. Ruyjin hasn't got anything to worry about, as they still have many opportunities to show their strength.

The first match today saw Falconeri winning the first set relatively easy, but then losing his momentum and also the second set against Burquest. In a tight third set, the Prunian in the end managed to win the game. 

The following match saw two close sets. Although Franco was a tough challenger, Batland managed to pass through and win in two sets. 

After a celebration followed a disappointment for the Lidonian team, as Radek lost two close sets and therefore also the match against Laqahiz. 

The last men's match saw a close first set, with Hürberger winning against Connell. But the Harishian fought back by winning superior the second set. After another close set it was the man from Scandavia who left the court as winner. 

The first women's match saw the second representative from the home nation. Despite the big support from the viewers Martens lost in three sets against Johnson.

The next match saw a clear win of the first set by Hughes, and some experts already believed that she already won the match. But in an incredibly close second set Fernandez won in the tie break after previously defending a match ball already. The last set then was another close battle, but Fernandez managed to do the turnaround. ;

The next match wasn't as exciting, despite delivering another two close sets. In both sets, Brezhneva was the one who was better and therefore deservedly won against Darupah.

The last match today and of the round of 32 saw the third Lidonian in action today. Again it was a loss for the team from eastern Centralia, as Maximova was chanceless against a strong Jensen, who won both sets and now set herself up in an early favorite position. After the loss of the baseball team it was surely also good for Ruyjin to have success in a sports event.

Today's first match saw an intense first set, which was open until the very end and had to go all the way to the last game. There it was Pavlov who was an edge better and managed to win the first set. This was also a moral blow for Makarovo, and maybe this was the reason for why he couldn't manage to hold the second set as open, in the end the man from Flirskmasto lost set 2 and with this also the match.

The next match decided who will be the opponent of Pavlov in the quarter-final. And it looks like it'll be a tough one, as Vale won his second match in a row in two sets, and that especially in a dominating manner against the chanceless Hart. Experts already see him as the first favorite of the tournament, but also Pavlov didn't lose a single set yet, we can expect a high class match then.

Also the home nation has a valid chance this tournament though, as showed Joachim in his second match. After a close first match, he showed his strength in the round of 16 with a nice win over Snaebjornsson, who did his best to fight against in the first set, but had no chance against a today brilliant playing Joachim.

The conclusion for today's men's matches saw another on paper clear game. But even despite in the end losing in 2 sets, we saw today another high class tennis match between Gutter and Barnes. The prunian might have won, but also Gutter doesn't have to be ashamed of his result as he played very well today.

The round of 16 for the women's was opened by the end of the Harishian hopes, as with Cook the last lady from the islands was knocked out, She lost an incredibly close match, where both sets were decided by tie break games, against Flipkens. The latter one gave the home crowd something to cheer for with her win and proved as well her ability to withstand high pressure.

This day was a rather sad one for the Dyrian tennis fans, as also the second chance for them to achieve a win was missed, Bjarnisdottir lost in two tight sets against Yakovlev, thus eliminating also Dyria's women as a whole from the tournament. On the other side with the second win, Equaland can be happy about each one man and woman in the quarter final.

Yakovlev's opponent there will come from Aquia, because Seixas Dantas managed to win the match despite losing set 1 against Lustre. After a rather easy first set win she couldn't manage to withstand against the improved Aquian in the following sets.

Today's last match saw two women who reached this round in an easier fashion, with Jilova being able to win after three sets, mostly thanks to her better stamina in set 3. On the other hand also Flirskmasto can be Called one of the losers of the day, with both their make and female participant losing their respective matches. Vesnina lost despite playing well today, but after two close sets and a tie after them, she was emptier after a long match in the last set than her concurrent.
